SWR® Marcus Miller Professional Bass Preamplifier (part 2)
Музыка
SWR has partnered with Marcus Miller - arguably the most influential bassist of his generation -- to create the ultimate tool for bassists. Or as Marcus calls it: "The missing link between your bass and a great sound!" Working closely with our SWR engineers, Marcus painstakingly customized the feature set of this preamp to accommodate his own distinctive array of tones, while taking into consideration the needs of other bassists of all styles. The result is simply one of the most versatile bass products ever developed.

I swear I've been searching for someone to explain what a compressor actually does and here is my musical hero explaining it simply.

Compression is THE hardest pedal for me to figure out. It's counter intuitive.
this guy is pure class. hes really humble and considerate, got pretty in depth with his explanations and all.
agreed! wish all star musicians were like this.
You are a great teacher and musician Marcus ...Keep up the good work......
He is a really nice guy. Ive met him because Ive had the privilege of going to school with his son Julian for the past six years. Every so often Marcus would come to our jazz class and do a master class with us and once an after school jam session. I will remember that for the rest of my life.
MARCUS!!! YOU ARE MY IDOL !!!!!
Ampeg is LEGITTT dude, one of the best in the business, fo reeeall!!!
That's an amazing amp, and Mr. Miller's a great bassist.
Killer preamp! I wouldn't even call myself a Marcus fan (more out of lack of knowledge than actual *dislike*) but I'd love to own one of the M2 Preamps, as it's full of usable functions but easy to use in the Real World.
I can't add anything new here - he's great! Any vid of MM should upload with the "Like" already pressed.
he uses EBS cabinets, and possibly the power section from one of their amps. I'm quite sure he's been a fan of SWRs preamps for a while.
you wanted to say you are surprised that he's using a preamp straight to the cab without a ¨ POWERAMP :)
dam he clearefied evrythin!!!
So, this preamp has all the features I've been trying to assemble myself with separate components. Sucks I found this so late into my build. Otherwise I would've pooled all my cash together for one component, instead of already buying 3 pieces and having a few more to go.
Well, thats ends it up nicely: Just dont go crazy, man. :D
4:30 , just dont go crazy man.. Haha
Ampeg!
He Marcus what about SWR Workingman's 2004 bass amp ?... I Bought it together with a Harley Benton BB410T 4x10 cab and it includes a Korg DTR-2 Guitar Instrument Rack Tuner for .$323,21 all in one buy. My question is if the SWR Workingman's 2004 Is it suitable for onstage purpose also? Tnx! Bassman! ;)
THATS Eb!
Can you still purchase this Preamp and who has it? Cant find it online.
Marcus, Unfortunately, I wasn't able to examine the schematics. If possible, I would like to know about the pre amp tubes. Are they 12ax7, how many, etc ... Thank you for your help, New York City D.J. Sal Z.
1:01 - sounds like donkey kong front flipping on a crocodile pirate.
Is his bass a 35 scale? it kinda looks like it.
Just don't go crazy man. Lol
Sounds like Marcus tuned his bass down a half step.
As if you can tell from the compressed as fu@# audio track on this Flash video.
the preamp is just the coloring part of the head. if you were to buy this you would need to buy a separate power amp.
None. It's a preamp. What I'm wondering is how he is able to have a signature preamp by SWR when he always uses EBS.
No, Fender doesn't have 35" scale basses...
Fender owns SWR so they had him to leave EBS.
SWR amps are pieces of crap..I bought one so I know...and by crap I do mean S..H..I..T...don't make the same mistake...get a real amp that works. The 500 I got stuck with has seen 6 tech visits and is still fukked up...one tech passed on it when he got the history of previous problems...that's fender service, and fender has now driven a once fine amp line into the sewer....go ampeg, ashdown, acoustic, even hartke....the swr line is bullshit.
