    Even though it is blurred out, I love that you show that neutering is really minor and a not big deal at all! Hopefully that is encouraging to owners who feel nervous about the procedure. Pets are so much happier when they’re not constantly distracted by the urge to mate! 🐶🐱

    I was heartbroken to find out he lost his little leg - from doing nothing but being a puppy. God love little Tag, he's been through it that's for sure. But at least him's in a loving forever home now and he'll never have to worry about that again. I hate seeing so many dogs get their poor limbs cut off, but I'm glad Vet Ranch is still able to save them.

    I am watching this chanel for years, and i am really starting to feel bad for how many animals get amputated in these videos. Wasnt he on heavy medication after they first radiographs? Also hasnt the foster noticed the condition his leg was up until he reached this horrific condition when getting surgery? There are several videos now that i keep thinking why dont they try to save the limp after a bad break etc

    I imagine it has to do with 1) that he was probably on heavy medication, maybe including some antibiotics for a short while. But if they can’t see an infection, they stop with antibiotics. Plus the antibiotics might have had trouble penetrating the bone to reach the infection. 2) animals are really good at hiding pain, so can be hard to spot early. And probably also because they haven’t known him for long, they don’t know his signals. 3) trying to save the limb would probably involve loads of medication for a long time including surgeries. All the while the dog would be in pain and need pain meds aswell. If you were a private person, you could probably pay the huge cost if you wanted. But being run on donations, they also have to prioritise how they spend the money. Save this one leg or save the lives of more animals? And dogs can be perfectly happy on just 3 legs :) These are my thoughts on your questions.

  • @capers72424

    @capers72424

    There is always a trade off in these situations. The vets have so many hours in a day, and a certain amount of money allocated towards the care of these rescues. Some of those hours must be allocated to paying customers, to keep the lights on. With the remaining resources, they have to decide whether to devote them all to a single animal and “save the leg”, or spread the resources over several animals in need of care. In my experience, animals adapt really quickly to the loss of a limb, and that is far better than spending a longer period of time in pain, on limited activity, trying to heal.

    Nothing is wrong with the US. Dr. Kerri chose how to represent herself in her profession, and how she calls herself is a part of that. There isn’t anything wrong with the way things are done in Europe, we just do things differently here. No harm, no foul. I’m glad I’m not generalizing all Europeans based on your comment, it wouldn’t be a good look for the continent!

    @@capers72424 The US is a third world country. No education, no social or healthcare, no jurisdiction. Just a big kindergarten.

    Her husband also works at this same clinic. Having surnames would be confusing. As someone from Slovenia I can attest first hand that Europe isn't the pinnacle of class and we here have a very large problem with citizens and their egos. Being from a country in Europe doesn't make you better than a soul living somewhere else. Learn to be humble in your life, it will do you good.

    Um, big yikes. Why can't a women be referred to with her first name? Seems classless to expect her to only go by her married name
