SWEET DREAMS - Jessica Lange performs as Patsy Cline
Ойын-сауық
frankmorganthomas.com Here we have the voice of Patsy Cline and the acting talents of Jessica Lange for a fine preformace of "Sweet Dreams" and "I fall to pieces" from the motion picture "SWEET DREAMS". As myself, my father too was a musician in his day and performed with Pasty and many others. I am a big Jessica Lange fan as well so, the combination of the two just pleased me so. I have enhanced / edited video and audio for a more enjoyable experience and I would like to thank the copyright owner for allowing the audio to be enabled. CLINE and LANGE fans, I hope you enjoy this!

Really wished that they collaborated for this film. It would’ve been legendary! Two absolutely amazingly talented, Oscar Winning stars, in one film! Sadly, all we can do is dream.

@@astridgorgens4483 There is a video of Beverly in that movie where she actually sings the Patsy Cline song beautifully! I never knew Beverly could sing. As I read the comments, it was plain to see many people were dismayed that hollywood chose Jessica Lange to play the role of Patsy after Beverly literally nailed the performance.
i have always wondered if she knew she was the best female country singer that has ever lived?? of course there of been plenty that would of gave her a run for my money but i still feel she would always beat them all out and be the best!! She would always be the secretariat of country singing females!!
Imagine getting to heaven and finding Patsy and now Doris Day, that will truly be heaven.
She still gives me chills. A magnificent artist.
Jessica Lange was awesome. i loved this movie. l love Patsy Cline r.i.p.

She is truely a legend and a teasure ~
Love love LOVE Patsy....brings me to tears this movie...and the videos of the real her. You just feel it in your gut that the world suffered a great loss that tragic night. God bless and those that died with her.
The QUEEN OF ART - and the QUEEN OF SONG
For her music to still be so fresh nearly 60 years after her death speaks volumes to just how talented Patsy Cline was. She wasn’t on this earth long, but the music and memories she left behind will always stand as an amazing testament that Patsy Cline was definitely here.
once patsy sang a song it was sung forever
There has been many female voices in country music. A few stand out as extraordinary - and of those Patsy Cline is to my ears the greatest of them all! Thanks for the upload Frank-Morgan Thomas!

After the car accident it left scar tissue that enhanced her power in her voice less than 4 yrs later we lost her to another severe crash in a plane 😔❤🌎🎸❤
Great echo on voice to simulate live show, and great synching by Jessica. Powerful scenes. And a wonderful re-creation of the times.
The most emotional song ever.
This was such a great film. I love this song and love Patsy.
Gives me chills every time I hear it.
I remember seeing this movie shortly after it came out and getting introduced to Patsy Cline at that time. Recently saw Coal Miner's Daughter (even though it has been out for years and years) and I also think Beverly D'Angelo's own rendition of Sweet Dreams is very enjoyable as well. Thank you for posting this. Patsy Cline was certainly a phenomenal singer!

........yes I agree, but: First I have thought in that movie, they put the voice of Patsy for the film, but indeed, it was the wonderful Beverly D' Angelo !!

Perfect.
What a great movie, I have it! ❤❤❤
I live in Argentina and I hadn`t heard of Patsy Cline until I saw the movie in 1984, when I was 24, and I congratulate you for being in that excelent movie.
Beautiful!!!! I fall also to pieces.
She really brought down the house BIG TIME!!!
A lot of people in Country Music , who knew Patsy including her best friend Loretta Lynn , really disliked the way she was portrayed in this film, and the way her relationship with her husband was portrayed, saying that they really loved each other...That said, i love Jessica.
legends
I'm going to start singing lessons and we're using the song xx sweet dreams xx
Lovely- a true talent-Died too young!
Incredible..
Love this movie
234 likes, ZERO dislikes. AMEN, brother.
Since I saw this movie I love this song.:)
goose bumps...best female vocal ever
Потрясающий фильм. Люблю фильмы с Джессикой Ланж,она очень интересно, на мой взгляд, раскрыла образ певицы Пэтси Клайн. Улетаю от баллад в ее исполнении. Наталья.
Jessica Lange wonderful! At the top
so beautiful
Magnifique sublime ❣️
I remember hearing Sweet Dreams on the radio, not long after Patsy died. With my 8-year-old imagination, I thought how it sounded like she was singing from heaven.
A bit of trivia: The incomparable Meryl Streep actually wanted this role and the director was a longtime personal friend of hers. When she made it known to him that she wanted it, he sat her down and told her that she could never do the justice to the role that Jessica Lange could. Meryl was hurt but when she saw the film she knew he was right.
@rockatophat I feel exactly the same, I think she´s an angel. Greetings from Argentina.
Jessica Lange is the perfect 10+❤❤❤❤❤

Jessica lip syncing to Patsy’s music that was the only saving grace for the movie
Thank you xo
On this day in 1985 {October 2nd} the Patsy Cline bio movie "Sweet Dreams" opened in theaters across the U.S. Jessica Lange was nominated for an Academy Award for 'Best Actress' {winner was Geraldine Page for 'The Trip to Bountiful'}... Patsy Cline died in a plane crash on March 5th, 1963 at the age of 30... One month later on April 20th, 1963 Ms. Cline's "Sweet Dream" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, eventually it peaked at #44 & on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart it reached #5...
Miss Lange is excellent as King Kong's girl, but my goodness she does a fantastic acting performance in this movie.
SO wonderful song and marvelous voice!!!!!!!!!
She was a country torch singer
No this was a soundtrack that Patsy Cline's publisher put together of her music. Sales of this soundtrack sky rocketed after the movie In 1981 I believe. Great movie and Jessica Lange great.
will miss Patsy always
Luv this song
Jessica Lange really did her justice, but she was the best in this movie!!
Sinds kort is dit iedere week een van mijn nummers die ik niet wil missen.
Very nice...
GREAT MOVIE I love Jessica Lang AND ED HARRIS
Rodeo 🎶
can you please upload the whole movie?
She could’ve had 3 Oscars if she did her own vocals in this movie.
This remastered versions are lovely. But the original taping of her performance was so much more raw and palpable.
None will be like our pasty ever
Patsy lives in all of us. Patsy, it is not a goodbye but see and hear you when. DS
@Jevezy no one's voice can be duplicated.
MAGIC
How hard is it to act like you were really singing, here Jessica Lange performed excellently.
good very good
That was no country band behind Patsy on "Sweet Dreams." She had definitely moved to pop with Owen Bradley.
@smarleneh I am so sorry you lost your daddy that way and much too soon I reckon. And Patsy was such a good woman with the voice of an angel...just a tragic tragic loss all around. And they must have been so terrified. Every time I even see a video with Patsy I get teary eyed - i feel the loss of her so much and she died 10 years before I was born - hard to explain. SO sad for all you kids. My thoughts go out to all of you my dear,
Studying the timeline when she recorded this song, and that the two movies show her singing this song, they do not match. I don't think she was able to perform this song when the movies show she did. She may have performed the song at the final concert before the plane crash but I have never seen any evidence on this. Has anybody any footage of her singing this song? The song is the most beautiful sound to hit human ears. The most wonderful 12 lines of words ever sung. Imagine the 60's with her.
mijn boby get cold wen A hear this performens ,LOVE is dreaming en hooping ,
I fall to pieces is also a good song....don`t forget that.
this was such a sad movie! i lost my copy :(
i have always thought that
