Swan River BREAM BASH - 38cm TRUCK! Perth Metro kayak fishing at Garratt Road Bridge

BIG BREAM BASH - Black Bream started it all for me - my first fish caught out of the Swan River. I haven’t targeted them for years - partially due to my location. However, I have an hour to spare, and I thought I’d spend it chasing the fish that got me into fishing!
My location of choice: Garratt Road Bridge - a popular bream location. I loaded up the Bay Sports Kayak and headed out on a chilly, misty morning to catch me some bream! It’s been a while, so I hit up KZread for some tips and tricks. Big shoutout to the following channels for their fantastic info:

The session was AWESOME! A size bream on the soft plastics, followed by a series of smaller rat bream on both plastics and bait. However, it wasn’t until I headed under the bridge that things REALLY took off!
Changing tactics proved to be the key, as a MASSIVE hit bent my rod double and had me fighting for control of the fish, the kayak AND my camera! It was a fight I was stoked to win, as I netted a monster 38cm bream - my PB fish! After a few snaps, I released it, and it swam away strongly.
What a session! Check it out!

Well done on a PB. A Bream of that size from the Swan is a very good fish. Loved the way you changed tactics, which often makes the difference between mediocre sessions and great sessions. Nice video and thanks for the shout out.

Great stuff mate, it's always nice to get back to where it all started from time to time. I feel the same way about catching herring, so many memories of catching them from the rocks or the beach as a kid!
