Thanks for this. Those curious about the foam edge, go to 11:10. This makes calling it a 10x12 feel like false marketing. Yes it's technically a 10x12 but it's ballistic properties are only 9x11...or 8x10 if it's really a 1 inch border all around.

This is very true, and this highlights why we do the tear downs now. If companies are honest and transparent up front, that's up to us the buyer to make that call :D But being shady claiming you have the world's lightest plate (SHotStop) for level IV and there's over 1.5" of foam on each side, and then making disinformation videos to say your plates don't have foam when they do is the problem :D

A lot of 22CM are 24-26", so we can keep climbing in velocity.

Unexpectedly, after three years of extreme humidity, the performance is still stable, which is beyond my opinion of the outer fabric. I don’t know how it will perform in the same environment with or without Kevlar material.

Channel deserves more subs/views. Really Armor and your videos on lapua/300WM/BMG and a lot of internet posts on prepping got me into firearms when I was 17.

I have a set, they're cheaper than RMA 1155's and about 2lbs lighter per plate, however they don't have an NIJ cert or edge to edge coverage. Not bad for the money though as long as you understand what you're getting. I use them as my "beater" armor to run around LARPing and training at the range. I have 1155's that I baby and keep out of the elements in case of a bad day, I want them to stay fresh beyond the warranty.

@@ArcOfficialYT Yep that's typically how it works. Truth be told that plate is effectively the same quality as what's seen here. Not great, but it works. You'd be far better off spending money on a lot better plates. But I could at some point see about getting one from Nick at SafeLife.

Making those shots hit both chrono's is going to be a LOT of chance. You're losing probably less than 30 fps from muzzle to 45'..

@@BuffRANGE you'd just have to aim for the second as the first ones so close it wont really matter , i thought ceramic frag is the only issue, you'd get to see the difference between really slippy rounds vs terrible bc rounds. Type of ftlb are coming from the ceramic? Enough to break the crono?

I would say no. Only from the fact that the quality of construction of the plate remains budget oriented. They work, and I'd recommend them all day over STEEL, but Highcom, RMA, offer budget plates for not much more that I feel have more quality in mind :D

Please do a ballistic test of 300 blackout subsonic vs a level IIIA soft body armor vest or panel. There are no videos on KZread doing a proper evaluation of this. They are all mixed. I'm pretty sure the round will be stopped but will come close to penetrating in some cases. It would be really interesting to see. I'd subscribe if you would take up my comment, thanks!

Subbed. Hey, I heard that the new pistol cartridge 7.5fk AP ammo can penetrate level IV plates. I don't believe it myself but check out what the designers claim. For 120 per plate and bring china made, these did remarkably well. Is this an issue with warranty since they failed before the 5 year shelf life? I thought the 5 year life was for the worst of the worst conditions

Well the question would come into play, what that warranty entails. None of the plates failed to meet the NIJ spec of 1 single M2AP hit COM at 2,880fps. The water one did fail that shot, but the company could easily argue that the V50 of the plates rating was exceeded by 100 fps, so all bets are off.
