Creating a handmade custom DIY surreal art collage is easy! I share my tips and techniques on how I create my analog collages as I cut out pictures and illustrations out by hand with a small pair of scissors and a craft knife. Finding inspiration from old books is one of the most fun steps to this process. These can come from used books, encyclopedias, magazines, vintage postcards, or anything else you can find lying around your house. I find most of my books and magazines from thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, Craigslist, or even on the side of the road! Watch as I arrange my elements and try different ideas as I talk through my process to create my final design.
Collages made out of paper have a custom made feel that you can't get from a digital collage made in Photoshop. And, there is an added challenge of only being able to use materials that you have access to!
Want to try creating your own? Just grab a magazine, scissors, and a glue stick!

Love your sense of humour!❤️
Love love your thought process! They turned out so cool! ❤
So cute, I love how you were cracking up. The couple that were dancing at the end they didn’t look like they were dancing. Instead he looked like he was upset about what she brought home. I have to say I really love your videos. I love how you explain your think process about angles, perspective etc. I saw on another channel someone doing a 5 page challenge where they used a number generator and had to use the pages that came up. I would love to see what you could do with that. Just an idea for all those Nat Geos.

Aww thank you! Oh that’s a good idea! I’m glad you enjoy watching :)
I’m a mixed media artist who does collages but using my own papers. This kind of collaging looks fun. I have bought a cutting knife and scissors as you suggested and also a couple of old National Geographic mags and look forward to creating some cards. Thanks for the inspiration
Me encanta cuando te ríes de tus propias ocurrencias 😊
I just LOVE it! It looks like the critter has his eye on the woman and is asking to cut in, awesome. You have such a good eye.
I love your sense of humor 😂
Whoa! I'm starting from your oldest videos after watching the underwater Victorian house on the coral video. Found myself smiling through the whole video. The compositions are so crazy cool. I was looking to start glue books as a new hobby but your collages are so inspiring. I may give this style of collaging a try.
I love how much your artwork cracked you up!

You inspire me a lot. I'm finishing up some pieces after serious artist block.
The elephant seal is like, "Can I cut in?"

LOL! I love this. Now I’m laughing so much at this again!
it would be so fun if you did streams and let viewers help you choose pieces and tell you which composition etc is their favorite!!! like an interactive collaging experience with friends ahaha. i just found your videos and our processes are so similar, im just jealous of your book collection!!! i mainly use nat geos from the 80s in my collages, cool to see someone else using them too, the pictures are so diverse and interesting!!!! keep em coming

Oh this would be so fun! I will definitely be trying some live streaming in the future :) Nat geos from the 80s are PERFECT collage material! I do really like using books to supplement though-adds some nice variety. Happy collaging!
This was a fun process to watch! Your choices were spot on! Great job!!

@@eastofhoney Thanks for responding, I greet you from Guatemala :)
So funny.Honestly though, what I love looking back at stuff I created from other stuff, I am just zmazed at how my brain worked when I did it.Bet you are thinking this too...lol!
do you use any material to glue them on or do you not glue them at all ?

I usually mount all my collages to card stock (it doesn't always make it into a video) and I love UHU glue sticks and Yes! Paste!
I get FREE magazines at my county libraries' magazines exchanges
Do the copy rights apply to pieces of photos? Is that a problem if sold?

Fair use law for using images is sort of a gray area so I don't sell anything! I use collage as a creative exercise and just have fun with it :)
I’m curious about what your channel name means?
🤗❤️💕tfs
Does anyone else find themselves putting a finger on the screen to make small adjustments?
I such a fan from the Philippines, but it just makes me sad to witness the magazines being ripped off😭 I love reading NatGeo magazines that I can't afford:(( can you send me instead some of your magazines with maps?👀

I think you might have meant 'ripped up' as 'ripped off' has a different, and a negative, meaning in colloquial English
I find my nat geos are often full of tragedies, floods, famines and the like. It's great that the journalism got the word out about the need, but the images are just too sad for me to even think of turning them into something funny.
