    Hi Dawn…the Citrosolv spray usually does not work…it needs to be in the concentrated form and the spray is not concentrated enough. It’s works best if you use concentrated Citrosolv and sprinkle it onto the pages as I doin the video, rather than spray it. You will have much better results this way.🫣😉

    I tried it for the first time, transferring it to a small spray bottle. It’s winter here so I’m sure weather is a factor. I waited 45 minutes with zero results so waited another 45. Got a few interesting pages… found that the pages that stick together gave the best results. Next time I may try sprinkling (maybe use a needle tip bottle) to get those “cells”! The separation and drying is the biggest challenge… and I’ll use protective gloves too!

  • @cerropaint

    @cerropaint

    Hi Sandy…Spraying does not work very well at all. I sprinkle a heavier, wet application and let it sit for 15 minutes (ish) give or take a few minutes. Make sure to be using the concentrated Citrosolv. I get tons of cells from this without having to use any other tools. If you are getting you pages wet enough, and pull them apart when they are still wet and the ink in activated, you can manipulate the inks. Keep trying and let me know how you do!?

I'm also teaching and taking classes and have a new studio...my days are full...I barley have enough time to fit in all my social media attention and miss so much that everyone else is up to! Not good! But I really enjoy finding, using and sharing small techniques that I use in my art and hope to get back on more regularly. I have to figure out a way to show painting elements that are a little larger scale...working on it. So sweet of you to message me Ina...I hope you give this trick a try...your gonna love it! Hi Lynn...So glad you are inspired to try this cool process! Don't get discouraged if it doesn't work out the first few tries. Make sure you have the Citrasolv concentrate, it doesn't work with the diluted spray...and only the feature pages in Nat Geo work best...not the advertisement pages. I have made blocks with them and with a lot of my other techniques too...they sell for $125 now when I make them!
