Creating a handmade custom DIY surreal art collage is easy! I share my tips and techniques on how I create my analog collages as I cut out pictures and illustrations out by hand with a small pair of scissors and a craft knife. Finding inspiration from old books is one of the most fun steps to this process. These can come from used books, encyclopedias, magazines, vintage postcards, or anything else you can find lying around your house. I find most of my books and magazines from thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, Craigslist, or even on the side of the road! Watch as I arrange my elements and try different ideas as I talk through my process to create my final design.
Collages made out of paper have a custom made feel that you can't get from a digital collage made in Photoshop. And, there is an added challenge of only being able to use materials that you have access to!
Want to try creating your own? Just grab a magazine, scissors, and a glue stick!

This image turned out incredible. It amazes me how you can turn all these images into something cohesive and believable.
Rosie, your conceptualization is truly mesmerizing and I enjoy watching your creative process unfolds. Thanks for not adding a fish or boat (lol) to this one. It's an amazing piece of art.

Spooky has a double meaning, and I like the second part because it's just straight scary.
Might be my favorite of all your collages. I really like this one!

Great job Rosie!!
A dolphin jumping out of the water covering the large mass of rocks would've looked good but either way, I really like this piece 🐬
One of mt favorites so far! 🤓
Ditch the ocean, add the prospector. Because that would totally counter the spookiness of the woods.

This turned out great. What do you do with all your pieces when you complete them. I have stacks and not sure what to do with them.

I was wondering how the feminine pictures goes together without the open ocean.
mic check, mic check.
Am I Adopted? I left University in tears. “Mom, am I adopted?” “No of course not”, replied his mother. Why would you think such a thing? Fred showed her his genealogy DNA test results. No match for any of his relatives, and strong matches for a family who lived the other side of the city.
If I had those hands so delicate upon my person, I might actually be of a mind to do exactly what I've done, which is to join forces with you, for the greatest good to protect the world from 7 sins of sickness.
You said spooky. You are supposed to upset when santa claus spills the presence in the lake.
