I have this same amp, im in love. Had it about a month. Going on 2 synergy synester 12s at half ohm. Hoping to grab another surge 4k and run 4 12s

Thanks for the amp dino and great review as always brother. I'm not in the market for a new amp right now but love to see it. Me personally, I would go with a JP amp that has the wired base knob but this amp (and bass knob) look great and have incredible efficiency

I love my Surge 4k I had it for 6 months and so far no issues, it does rated power and it does not run hot.

Collin does an excellent job with his amps. I've bought 9 wolfram amps including (4) 7500.1s. And if anything happens to those I'm definitely going Surge. The JP amps to me are too colorful! As for rated power all of Will's test were at high voltage. So I'm not sure if you actually get more power per dollar when compared to other amps (jp83)

@@chriscarroll3635 LoL. Do your own homework. But.....seriously, how good is a warranty if the company doesn't exist anymore? And if the owner is out getting arrested for petty crimes, how reliable will that company be? Well, I think Wolfram was a great example. History repeats itself. Are Wolfram and Surge good products? Absolutely! But who knows how long the company will be around.

Nice amp,if i had the money id definitely get one they look built well to.

This has me pretty pumped. I just ordered the Surge Audio 2000.4 multichannel right before watching this video and this brand seems like good quality for the money. Can't wait to see how the 4 channel does

I still a BNIB Wolfram 7.5 k (W7500.1) They later released a 9K and I talked to Wolfram and they told me it's the same exact amp as a 7.5 just rebranded with a new color scheme and a plexi bottom I believe. I can't install it because i have to park outside. Still pushing 2 RP2Ks in the meantime. Been running those for 5 or 6 years. Surprised they still hold up..

Also heard nothing but good things about them!

I just got one for the efficiency had a Tezla 4K claim constant power but it’s a Korean… so is this true? But I chose this one for personal use daily set up.. Pulled the salt 6 out put this in a 18 u think it’s enough team v2 @.7

Hey I have really been looking at these amps for the temperature monitor being as that heat is the enemy of electronics can you tell me what is an acceptable temperature range and what is getting into dangerous territory I just purchased my alternator and SCIB bank installing this weekend going to be charging closer to 16 I would really like to know what this amp will do at 16v

This surge 4k and the jp33 are similar in power. I picked up the JP33 because of the cheaper cost. I heard they are both made by S&I Korea.

Yea those JP amps are nice I almost bought the JP33 but ended up going with the Surge. I had a couple JP23 and they are killer little maps.

Yea it will power them . They can handle more yes but should do fine on the recoil 2500.

wondering the dynamic efficiency at 1ohm would that be the same as running on subwoofer just wonder trying to change my system around by getting rid of my taramps and trying to go more efficient i like wolfram i have 4 12in wolframs 2000rms 300 ounce motors best subs iv had so far i ran the taramp 12k on 3 of my subs at 1.3 ohm its was vilent looks like i have more thinking to do id have to have 2 of these amps for my 4 subs might be worth it becus of efficiency tho

I would run two of the surge 4K instead of the taramps 12k. I like the way a good halfbridge sounds better than fullbridge. And I’m sure it would be more efficient. I own taramps and I like them a lot but there is a sound quality difference between half bridge and full bridge for sure.

How do you like the sound quality on the surge 4k ? Im currently looking at getting the 10k version

Love it, the surge amps are very high quality.

Well well is there a 3k or 3300 one? I think I found my taramps replacement.... It looks great too!!! I was looking at JP amp and the Kicker KXA 2400 as well . got the jp23 V2 in my wife's car but I'm like meh it's cool color and all etc etc but not overly hyped about it.

I switch between my vxf and resilient sounds gold v2. I love them both so I just switch them out every couple weeks so I can enjoy both of them :)

Salt 4 is nice as well as long as your ok with the price tag.

So i have the bass 5k hooked up to my single zv5 15… now would this amp outperform bass5k?

Bass 5k is a good amp so both are good the surge will have a smoother sound because it has more dampening and control over the sub so SQ may be better.

These are the same as the DOWN 4 SOUND minus the blue tooth bass knob even the internals

They are very different compare the guts and you’ll see what I mean.

I recently bought JP 83. I didn't like the sound quality. it is not taun deep bass. does this korean amplifier sound deeper in the bass?

The Jp amps are usually pretty good so that’s odd. But yes the surge amps sound quality is very good and hit the deep bass great. If you so buy a surge use discount code HIFIVECTOR on surge audio’s website.

@@HiFiVector i sold my sundown salt 8k. The bass quality is much better. JP 83. Now I need to buy 2 more amplifiers. I'm looking to buy 2 of 7k. I'm apprehensive about this amp. I wanted to know if it has the same sound quality as the sundown salt line. I don't want to spend money buying amplifier anymore. this 7k amplifier is at a very good price.

Yes but it has the wonky wireless bass knob that I didn’t like. But it’s a good amp.

XR 12” is one of the best 12” subs I have tested you can’t go wrong. They hit great numbers AND sound excellent. I have 2 12’s in my personal collection.

@@HiFiVector I do.smell.burning sometimes, I only have 800 watts . Gain is less than half but it's volume related..I've read some people have spider tearing buy the sub sounds amazing. Im.going to try the HD but I have to get a new amp. I hear the HD had sort of good sound quality..I hated the DDX skar it sounded terrible since it is a spl sub.. I think that new amp you ate getting you may want to get the xmaxx or the godfather.

Could be clipping if you have only an 800 W amp with box or is it might only be given that thing 400 W or so in reality. So, if you’re pushing it hard, it might be clipping and Clipping creates heat. I know a ton of people running XR’s, and no one‘s ever Torn a spider. I don’t think it’s a common issue. Also, sometimes you will smell the glue on a new subwoofer that’s normal that’s just the smell of heat with the voice coil glue. But if it keeps happening then yeah I bet it’s because you’re clipping not enough power.
