Yes a Surface RT can take the place of a laptop/pc , if you are not a Gamer, a Power User, or in need of Legacy App support. Add you can almost now watch DVD's on your Surface RT.
Please note, I had to scramble a couple of sections as it did not dawn on me that my personal info was very very visible.

No. A DVD Writer/Reader does not change the Fact the main CPU is Arm. Games on disk are X86 CPU.
What is the model of the LG DVD?

If you post a video you should expect that someone watch it, @Barry Morgan No problem :) I ended up going to a store with my surface and try one. It worked fine, so I bought it. Can't remember the model I gave it to my father soon after. Thanks anyway.
