    I know he wasn’t trying to get upset while Judge Vonda was reading him those numbers. Sir...no-one told you to have a child. No-one told you to go back to school and be a full time student. And I’m still trying to figure out why he doesn’t have at least a part time job, knowing full well that he has a teenager. Some people’s common sense, or lack there of, just shocks me.

    There's times when you have to make choices and unfortunately once there's a family, they are now the priority. I was a part-time student and full time student . It ook me 10 consecutive years year round to obtain my bachelor's degree. But I had two boys to take care of, needed to be an actively involved parent,, a home and bills to pay. It took me longer, but now my boys are 25 and 24 and they appreciate my involvement in their lives.

    @@fatnorth723 No, sorry, you don’t get to have children and then force one parent to take all responsibility. If you don’t want to have a child, don’t have one. Literally no woman can force you to impregnate her. That’s a choice.

  • @AndieMae87

    @AndieMae87

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@fatnorth723 it doesn’t work after a child is already born. Now listen, I’m not trying to just completely undermine what you’re saying. I DO think there should be some type of law that allows men to legally request to opt out of being a father during the woman’s first few months of pregnancy. That way he is given an opportunity to say he doesn’t want to be a father. In that situation, a woman could make the most informed decision about whether to continue with the pregnancy. Unfortunately that’s not a law yet though, so if a child is born then both parents who made the child need to be responsible for the child. The child certainly didn’t ask to be born. Take my situation with my first husband. I wanted to have an abortion. We live in BFE Arkansas, Bible Belt country. He told me he’d tell everyone I was a baby killer. That’s pretty scary to a 19 year old girl so I didn’t get the abortion. At 8 months pregnant he said “Is it too late for you to get an abortion? I’ve changed my mind about all of this.” I don’t feel a damn bit bad that he was on child support until my second/current husband adopted my son. I do feel bad for any dad who genuinely wants 50/50 denied that. That’s terrible and the mom should be ashamed. I never once took it out on my son because his biological dad basically manipulated me into continuing with the pregnancy. In the end, I am 50% responsible for the pregnancy no matter what came after. My son is responsible for 0%.

    That's great when someone wants to better themselves and have a better future. The problem is, the child needs it NOW. In the future , they will grown. They wont need it or be entitled to it then. And the child, when they become an adult, may not forget that the parent was so busy with their own betterment that they wouldnt help the child and that adult now holds it against that parent.

Someone who takes home 40K gross a year doesn't not mean they take all that home Have to break it down Which pretty much ppl live paycheck to paycheck I say $550 is a good amount no matter how much thier income is 80k, 400k 900k Its called child support, not lifestyle support

Frankly based on his age and trying to go to la school its a huge huge waste of Pell Grant funds , anyone at his age that could make it as lawyer would have been making a decent amount prior again based on his age.

    I didn't Know That Pell Grants Can Be Used To Pay Child Support.. According To Federal Law? Under Current Federal Law, A Failure To Pay Child Support Does Not Directly Affect Eligibility For the Pell Grant, Nor Will The Pell Grant Be Diverted To Pay Past Due Child Support Obligations... Funds received from the Federal Government, Such As The Pell Grant and Direct Loans, Are Exempt From Garnishment... Which Kinda Makes The Ruling In This Case? Moot.. However, Because Pell Grants CAN NOT BE GARNISHED? It Does Not Relinquish The Parent From His/Her Responsibility To Pay Child Support.. Which Would Leave To Question.. Can The State Child Support Agency Force A Parent to Leave A School Of Higher Leaning To Get Employment Just To Pay Child Support.. Or? Does That make The Parent Who Has Custody Of The Child Eligible For Other State and/Or Federally Operated And Run Family Services While The Parent Who Is Attending School Remains in School? Because There Are State and Federal Programs To Assist In Such Matters... Interesting.. This case is Far More Complex Than It Seems...

    He's a grown man with a child. He should have decided what he wanted to be when he grows up much sooner than this. He just didn't want to pay. She can get child support even if the child is 30 years old. She can still request he pay for all that time.

    Why does he look so angry- in a divorce it’s the marriage which is dissolved but children are still here and the responsibility of both parents. Did this man go back to school so hed intentionally have no income - in a petty attempt to spite his ex- wife when it actually damages his child.
