This was a joke. Vonda kept interrupting him whenever he tried to explain something that was not a simple answer and was only answering her questions. She clearly favored the woman who opened by asking for "an increase in my payments" while flaunting expensive trips on social media. The children clearly do not get much from his already large payments, let alone the increased amount. Additionally texas law allowed the poor man to be steamrolled and forced to pay a permanently increased child support (at least until he can come back to court in a year to lower it to a more reasonable amount) despite not actually having an increase in income. He never saw the 50k. It was paid directly to the IRS, yet the law says that's as good as directly in your bank account so you need to pay more. He also pays too much in child support. Kids don't need $1500 a month, let alone over 2k. Food, clothing, and the essentials are not THAT expensive, especially when the mother should be providing as well, not just relying on the father for everything. Even with extras like computers and sports, this still does not get you to $1500 a month (spoken from personal experience). Now the father effectively lost an income producing investment that could of benefitted his kids in the long run. He could have saved for his kids college or gotten them nice things when they visit him but no, now mom will waste all of it on trips she posts on social media. Besides, we all know what will happen. When he goes back in a year to get it lowered, the court will say "well you made 50k more last year, you have obviously been lazy this year and are intentionally not earning at your full potential" and will probably just keep the payment at the elevated level or say "even though we agree that you are paying substantially above what the calculation shows you should be, you now have a history of paying the higher amount despite not actually having a larger salary and you are clearly capable of paying it (despite any problems it causes to him) so we will keep it as is". While parents should take responsibility for their children and support them, this man is clearly being taken advantage of by both his ex and the system. He really needs to file for full custody, this is just ridiculous. This way, the kids will actually benefit and see the money and the mom will have to actually contribute and not be a leach.

Her initial statement of "My support" threw me for a moment but then this guy started speaking and I was like, "oh, I see." My first question is, "Did he fight for or attempt to get custody of the child?" because if he didn't and doesn't want to pay out money for his child to live in the lifestyle they would have if they lived with him, then shut up and pay it. Women don't make the laws and I PROMISE if it wasn't deemed a "fair and reasonable % of income or amount to pay, men wouldn't have passed the law.
