Same here. I’ve never even played a Final Fantasy game (shocking, I know), and yet I absolutely love this trailer.

Some people did not understand the situation. Galeem was a multiversal entity that earlier in the game's initial cinematics, spewed its light throughout that space, consuming all the smashers and other large entities in the multiverse, turning them into spirits. Galeem was cut in half as if it were nothing. The One-Winged Angel, showed up without any invitation and simply took out the strongest boss in the game, and again. Without any invitation. *Sephiroth went far beyond any other smasher in this giant crossover. His reveal was Splendid, Impactful, Ascending, Perfect and Smashing.*

Sakurai should Honestly make a Magic Mii fighter user & in general add more melee (fists) or magic characters like idk Goku for example lol, but fr how Unique would that be? Robin uses their sworda for most of their attacks, and Zelda uses the same magic for 80% os her moveset, only changing for her specials and aerials. A fully magic user, that uses a lot of different spells instead of the same one for most of their attacks would be so cool!

@@brandonmedina9527 If by End-Game you mean the most strong outcome the character can get in their respectives games then FF still gets the win here, give to Cloud all the Summon Materias ( Knights of the Round for example), all the magic ones (Ultima for example), his best weapon etc... of the game he is coming from (FF7). The only one from that list who can put a fight is Sonic in his Super Form... and this is just because he is invincible on that form basically but still, when he is out of rings then is a RIP.

Shulk for a brief period of time becomes a literal God, able to warp reality with the Monado. The monados abilities also make him functionally immune to physical attacks (Speed), able to seal auras (Purge), mitigate ~80% of any damage taken (Armour), negate buffs + inflict DOT (Eater), negate any "special" abilities (Shield), plus seeing the future and the reality warping he gains.

This trailer hit so hard because of several factors. He’s THE poster boy of villains, he’s THE original Anime Sword Fighter, his theme is upon the most widely known just in music, not even just as a theme. The most impressive of all was that Nintendo kept it under wraps so incredibly well. No one knew! Not a single leak, not even a rumor. No one asked for Sephiroth, but dude was EASILY the one people were most readily able to accept. He’s super popular but isn’t overbearing like Minecraft Steve or Sora (love both of them, but be honest, they’re suffocating with how much they were talked about prior, during, and post reveal), and his significance helped welcome him (or I guess… let him in?) to the universe of Smash. Few asked, but no one will argue that his legacy is more than deserving of earning a spot in THE ultimate crossover game. Ladies and Gentleman… Sephiroth.

I like to think that every character knows everyone’s theme in their universe, which would explain why Cloud identifies Sephiroth with almost no trouble, despite him being a dot.

I didn't really care about Steve and Sora's inclusion in smash probably because I have never played Kingdom Hearts and Minecraft but Sephiroth's inclusion got me hyped I loved the original FINAL FANTASY 7 I didn't even know Sephiroth was even going to be in this game he is the reason why I even got a Switch in the first place

I still remember my reaction to this trailer. I don’t even play Final Fantasy, but the second I heard One Winged Angel, I knew who it was and lost it

after the final reveal trailer i can now say, with confidence, this was the coolest trailer for all the characters, with hero coming in second

Coming back to this after 2 and a half years and I can say with extreme confidence that this was the most hype reveal. This is where Smash Ultimate peaked.
