Super Bee low voltage cutoff & glitch sensitivity, Gas RC Kill Switch, Killer RC

Ойын-сауық

I explain how to adjust the low voltage cutoff and glitch sensitivity on the Super Bee gas kill switch. The Super Bee has 3, 4, 5, or 6 volt low voltage cutoff for the receiver battery on a gas powered large-scale RC car. Setting the voltage cutoff will protect your battery from being over-discharged. Go to www.KillerRC.com for more info or to purchase a Super Bee.

    Thank-you for this video I will try this out next Sunday I've been having some problems with one of my two Killer RC switches. This is a must have for 1/5th r/c cars and trucks.

    It is needed. A low voltage battery can cause a runaway. You can switch it to 3v, but you can't totally disable it.

    hello, recently I have installed a kill super bee, but I see that the led light is in an orange tone similar to red instead of being in blue ... they took models with other colors or perhaps I have something wrong connected. Greetings and I hope you can help me.

    I did every single test And I notice if you or if the coil cable get disconnected from the supper bee kill switch the engine still running. I tape my around to make sure will not comes off

    Correct. If an ignition wire comes loose from the ignition coil then the Super Bee cannot ground out the coil and stop the spark.

    Would you want low voltage cut off to be like 7.3 for 2s lipo? If my lipo goes to even 6.3 it won’t charge as it says it’s voltage is too low. Having a 6 volt cutoff I’d imagine won’t help 2s lipo users. Maybe I missed something?

    The actual cutoff is 6.8v, but it's called 6v for simplicity. 7.4v is half charged.

    and what about voltage, 2s LiPo battery have 9v+ when fully charged, need i put some BEC ? (RX spectrum comes with losi 5ive, servos: hitec HS-5765MH, and stock Losi 5ivet steering servo)

    last time kill switch turn off the engine after 30 minutes running with 5100 NiMH battery with 4v cutoff, i found it strange cause battery was just charged and must be running more then 30 minutes, maybe it cause of NiMH battery lost voltage when get some big load from servos.

    Just installed the super bee on my 30DNB and 30DNT and the instruction manual is wrong. It’s states #1 switch as volts sense #2 switch as glitch sense Following the instruction manual had us scratching our heads until we watched this video and saw you use dip #2 to cycle the volt sensitivity. How come no one has mentioned this 👍🏼

    Noel Mason #1 is voltage. #2 is glitch sensitivity. Unless your dip switch is soldered on upside down.

    #2 on mine according to the numbers printed on the case is the outer most switch which is the one he uses in this vid to change volt sense. I know it’s wrong as I’ve set the volt sense and the glitch sense up tonight using the wrong numbered dips switches

    Hi i have a Losi 5T with a Spektrum DX 3R Pro i have the stock 6V battery and the stock SR3300T receiver i have it all setup. Low voltage set to 4v and Glitch sensitivity at 1 it goes through the start process then the LEDs go out and then i get solid green and flashing red at the same time. i have tried my AUX channel in P2 and P3 also i have tried frame rate at 16.5ms and 11ms still solid green and flashing red at the same time. Not sure what I'm doing wrong thanks Phil.

    it was only one time, actually i want to disable it because i think that this option isn't need with NiMH battery and can cause some problems, like at that time =)

  • @pb2themax
    @pb2themax12 жыл бұрын

    You can only change it, not disable it. Why do you want to disable it? With a 6v battery you should have it at the factory setting of 4v. If the low voltage is being tripped then you need to charge your battery or get a better battery pack.

    Well the voltage cut is 6v max and when I get the 4s set up the cut off would need to be higher ? I was going to leave it low ish and run a external buzzer / alarm. that won't shut it off thought

    craigtreeguy Did you get a Killer RC Servo-Max voltage regulator with your Hitec servo? The Servo-Max has low voltage protection built in. When the 4S LiPo gets down to 12v the regulator drops the receiver voltage down to 5 volts, which would trigger the Super Bee to kill the engine. See the instructions that come with the Servo-Max. Just set the Super Bee on 6v cutoff.

    no it couldn't be, because i turn on engine again a few times and it continue running, until i made servos work, at this time voltage was 4.2-4.5v

  • @pb2themax
    @pb2themax12 жыл бұрын

    Or maybe the battery has a bad cell. Put a volt meter on it while you move the servos. Switch to our 6000mAh LiPo RX pack and you'll have plenty of power!

  • @pb2themax
    @pb2themax12 жыл бұрын

    Or maybe you just had a radio glitch and it has nothing to do with the battery?

  • @Lees.Silves
    @Lees.Silves12 жыл бұрын

    then i will switch it to 3v and look what happened =) if it was a battery then problem will be again.

    A fully charged 2S LiPo is 8.4v. I don't like using voltage regulators. The servos are stronger and faster. Myself and many others run a straight lipo in our Losi 5IVE without any problems, but the slight risk is still up to you. We have discussed this a few times on our various RC forums.
