Suez Canal Blockage Could Impact Prices, Shipping On Range Of Products | NBC News NOW
A container ship the size of a skyscraper is stuck in Egypt’s Suez Canal, which is one of the world’s busiest waterways. It may take weeks to remove the ship, which could cause major shipping delays and higher prices on a wide range of consumer products.

Engineering solution.1.The dredger should be in the stern of the container ship (at the stern it is less stuck in the sand). It's important to work simultaneously: the dredger must work and necessary to drag the container ship from the stern through the channel at a right angle with powerful cables (simultaneously). Otherwise, there will be not result.

It's not going to work . Because if you pull that ship stuck in the sand with that force . Mani catastrophic example could happen . Bending. Slide on the side . stuff like that . They will have to unload the shipping container first .. I'm actually curious if there is something more serious than just the wind . At some point they said was a explosion ??
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but this is a case of profits overriding reason and common-sense. Supertankers were originally intended to carry huge cargoes around Africa to offset the restrictions imposed by the Suez canal - but now they have deepened the Suez canal to allow this enormous container ship to pass through. No ship should be allowed to pass through the canal if its length is longer than the width of the canal, or the owners should be required to have to pay the cost of two tugs on either side of the stem to keep her on course in the event of power failure or the buffetting of cross-winds. Now 12% of the world's trade could be on hold for up to a few weeks because of this avoidable blockage.
How did this happen?

Call in Mammoet and use pulleys and cables anchored on the opposite shores. Maybe supported by huge airbags under the bow and stern to dislodge them first. Or block off the section of the canal and pump more water into it? Those little tugboats wont help :(

@@@@@Very cheap and simple to do is to get high pressure pipe and inject water into the sand and let the sand run down the canal. It will be faster to remove the sand . you can get long pipe easily.
shows how big the thing is if it can be blown sideways by a storm .
IF this ship gets refloated, I wonder if it will be seized along with its cargo in lieu of payouts for damages and recovery costs.
Economic Fallout?
What's the deal with the really intense dramatic music? it's a stuck ship not the not the end of the world. it sounds like the kind of music you would play if reporting on an asteroid on its way to impact us or world War 3.
I was waiting how long it would take before they use this as the excuse for already rising gas prices. guess we can't blame pipeline cancelation or faking ban for high gas prices anymore.
Engendering solution. On the ground from the side of the bow of the ship, drill 15 together connected of powerful of piles or powerful of pipes, attach powerful cables and two winches to these piles.Fix of these powerful of cables at the stern of the ship and pulling the ship through the channel at right angles. And simultaneously to turn the ship's propellers in the opposite direction. And the ship will come out. With respectful to you. Igor.
Yeah God forbid someone doesn't get their exercise equipment on time, LOL
Deja Vu I've been in this place before
Engineer a temporary lock and fill it up with water.
There's a saying "whatever floats your boat" . Maybe put canal lock gates in.

ok to be clear, ships from Asia can just sail through the Pacific to the U.S.
Who set this up?
I guess this is the matter plan between board members to get a better bottom line on this quarter
Why don't they get one of those huge ships in the queue to give it a gentle shuff? Or try a controlled explosion in the sand bank to remove some of the sand to enable the ship to move.

Funny but not really. What if terrorists decided to scuttle ships in the Panama or Suez canals? Actually, the Suez was shut down for several years in the 1970s by Israeli/Egypt conflict but we weren't as dependent on global shipping as we are now.

The solution is to throw the Containers in the water on land or on some platform to decrease the weight of the ship and assume the loss of the goods, do not throw everything at once as the weight is reduced, the ship will move. thousand mi 26 helicopter to reduce the weight of Containers
