The Sudanese food and culture seems very similar to that of Somalia as well. The attire, henna, tea with milk, small injera like bread which they call anjero, laid back culture, etc. I think that all Islamic/Arabic countries have a lot in common, but also the East African countries, regardless of religion, share similar cultural traits to some extent. By the way, that outfit and the color looks really nice on you. And we are missing your hubby. Keep the videos coming. You guys always brighten my day. ❤️

Hello Zoya. I love Pakistani foods. Sometimes I love it so much, I tend to be very careful not to eat the plate that came with it. I grew up in Sudan from the age of 7 years old to 13 and moved to the USA. I love Sudanese people to the core. I love their culture, food and hospitalities. What Amenia mentioned on the video, it is all True and more.

Hi Amena and Elias, I am a proud Eritrean that was born in Khartoum , Sudan. I miss it like no other. Bamya(orkra stew) and foul are one of my favorite dishes, including mahlahbeeya(no auto correct for that) and the sweets in Sudan cant be out matched. They say if you need an accountant, make sure he is Sudanese; a testament to the people. My childhood was rich b/c of my Sudanese neighbors. #onelovetomypeople
sudanese people are legit known for being the most welcoming! Love yall

So in Jamaica, the Hibiscus plant we use it to make a drink call Sorrel drink, we add ginger or rum or red wine depending on who makes it..
Sudanese people are my favourite East Africans next to Ethiopia of course 😀 They are very hospitable, kind, musical and beautiful inside out. We love sudanese music in Ethiopia too especially Mohammed Wardi, may he rest in eternal peace 🙏🏽 Most of all, sudanese ppl love and respect Ethiopians, its all mutual. Amina 💚
Thanks Amina for spreading the love between Sudan Ethiopian eretria we are one people divided by history ..

Hey fellow African here 🇬🇭 thank you for sharing! it’s so interesting to get to know the diversity of Africa .
Hi Amena!! I'm from Yemen and OMG we have a lot of similarities I mean a lot☺ I love it, I remember when I was in middle school I had a teacher from Sudan and he was super nice☺
this video almost made me cry. thank you so much for making this. I'm half Sudanese, but i feel like I've started to lose my roots.. all the topics you mentioned sparked memories from my childhood visiting my relatives. so now I'm sitting here and sniffing on a piece of bakhoor ^^

Well done! Thank you. Love these cultural videos. I met some Eritreans visiting from Germany and their jewelry was stunning! That 22/24k gold is gorgeous. There’s nothing like it. Even some of the more expensive jewelry here looks mass-produced. Hospitality says a lot about a culture. I’ve been places where the people didn’t even offer you a glass of water, after walking to their house, parched and out of breath (on a hot day!). SMH. Sudan sounds like an interesting place.
I'm a filipina married to sudanese, went also to sudan once and people are so nice. Even though they always say i'm chinese or korean 😅
10:58 - Yes!! In Jamaica we call this plant and drink "sorrel." 🖤💚💛 Traditionally, around the end-of-year holidays, we make this drink with fresh ginger & brown sugar....mmmm...🇯🇲 🇯🇲 😊😋😋 Also, our Senegalese friend calls it Bissap. We find it in Latin-American grocery stores under the name "flor de Jamaica" (Jamaican hibiscus flowers). We love these cultural story-times on your channel. Irie!

Thank you for the information on your culture.
I'm looking forward to part 2. Thanks. Shirleen
I really wonder where that yelling during weddings comes from? I always thought it was a Cameroonian thing because we do that same yelling during our weddings. I've heard Congolese people and north africans do it during their weddings as well.
Thanks for these great videos, Amena! I'm going to Ethiopia in January. Since you talked glowingly about the food of Sudan, do you know anywhere on the net (or in print) that has authentic Sudanese recipes?
I just wanted to thank you, this helped a lot with my school presentation. Your culture is very interesting. Greetings from Finland

I'm from the Philippines and I have lots of Sudanese friends. One of the best people in the world. Very kind, calm, generous and very laid-back. I love food and drinks from Sudan. Helamour, Baobab, and Hibiscus. Ahabba Makan Watani Sudan.
Very nice video I'm just waiting for part 2 ❤️❤️❤️ much love
Thank you for your very nice information.
Hey amena I am from Eritrea and we have almost all the same culture especially the clothing and some other things.
Awesome Amena👏🏾😃
so beautiful. yes Amena we want to know about traditional wedding in sudan. we love you Sudan
Greetings to you, Amena. I thoroughly enjoyed this video about Sudan. I'm a South African writing from Johannesburg. I wanted to say that most of what you say about Sudan is typical of most of Africans. Things like eating together, eating with our hands, and so on. Although most people in the cities have abandoned most of those practices. The sound that you say Sudanese women make during traditional ceremonies like weddings, you find all over Africa. We call it 'ululating' here. I look forward to more videos about Sudan.
Sudan people are generous and humble and I love them so much cuz I'm Eritrean a country that has semetic people which 50% in Eritrea speak Arabic and Hebrew anyways thank you sharing your culture and traditional clothings I love everything about Sudan.....🇪🇷🇸🇩🙏💯💯😍😍😍
Loved this! And yes do a video about the weddings. Sudanese culture and society so similar to Somalis
Great ....kindly make more about sudan
I loved this video! Do you have a link where traditional Sudanese clothing for women can be purchased? 😊
Sudanese people where you at?? 🇸🇩🇸🇩 👇
So much good information
Ethiopia loves your music. As kids we used to be tired of our parents because they won't change the Sudan Tv channel the entire day 😂 Y'all be making hit after hit all by sitting down on the floor (Majlis).
Hey Amina, I'm a Sudanese woman and love your videos. I have seen Mauritanian women wearing taub as well!
Are the breads youve mentioned kind of sour like injera. I tried injera and that is definitely an acquired taste. I want to try sudanese food but they dont have it in my state.

How do you write the male tradicional clouding?
Hello Amena. Sukren ya suker for all that you said about Sudan. I am from Eritrea and I was in Sudan from the Age of 7 to 13 years old and move to USA afterwards. I had good times there. I speak Sudanese Arabic fluently. As you mentioned on your video. I 100% agreed with all what you said. I also belive Sudanese people are very hospitable and Sudanese Foul the best in the whole world. I have tried many and they all kneeled down to Sudanese Foul. Thank you for sharing, Ya suker. Yosef
I love your channel Amena 👍👍
Western and eastern lowlands of Eritrea have more or less similar cultures to the Sudan. As a citizen of Eritrea and having lived in the western lowlands for some time, I did not feel like a stranger in the Sudan. Food, weather, music and all is similar to my country. I picked up some Arabic while I was there and back at home. I enjoyed sleeping outdoors which is also common in Eritrea, eating one of the best ful I ever had. Shawarma and sheya served outdoors is also amazing which is something that I can't forget. And enjoyed the laid back nature of Sudanese people, their music and etc. Can you please send a link where you buy your Bhukoor incense in the US? I miss the Sudanese smell...Thanks for your video Amina!
I love you Amena 💕❤️& yass boo plz do a wedding video! Even though I’m Sudanese, I learned a lot of things from this video.
Thank you for sharing this!!! I love you guys’ videos. I am Sudanese and all of this made me think of my childhood and miss my Mom who lives in TX, but my family and I are in NJ 😢 🇸🇩🇸🇩
You are inspired me keep going
Yes do one on the wedding and a part two would be amazing Love ur videos 💕
I enjoyed learning about Sudanese culture. Here in the United States, we don't get true images of Africa and the depth of its beauty in its peoples. Yes, I would love to learn about weddings. I know that they are huge in many parts of the world! I would also like to learn about the Ethiopian alphabet, as it is so different from that used in most western nations. A series based on that alone would be so interesting and enlightening to me. Thank you.
Only channel Videos l don't skip anything!♥️♥️

I love this and thank you. An amazing Gentleman named Mohammed from Sudan picked me up in medical transport . I will be picked up Wednesday by a Mohammed but I won't know until tomorrow if it is the same man. Many driver's are Somolians. I don't think I will ever forget him for so many positive reasons. I remember he said he lost his father recently and I said he isn't actually gone because you have qualities that I rarely see and he is still part of you.
