    The word Ethiopia also means land of burned faces (sun tanned) the word is derived from Greek, I'm happy that I learned few things about our next door neighbours, it's nice to know that we don't only share border but also similar names. Viva East Africa!!

    Historically when they were talking about Ethiopia in history. They were talking about Sudan/Cush. Which does include modern day Ethiopia. But they were more or less talking about Modern Day Sudan. Just so you know.

    freebusta123 I some how agree with your point, I disagree with you saying more or less Sudan, because that same area was invaded and taken by kingdom of Axum. Aethiopia (kush) the land was lied in both (modern day Ethiopia and Sudan). since Ethiopians accepted Christianity they continued using the the Greek word and as for Sudanese I'm guessing since they are Muslims they chose the Arabic word. but it's pretty much has the same meaning. (fyi I just found out the meaning of the name Sudan)

    Wond Teklu Ethiopian was Abyssinian first. Meaning land of the Habesha. It changed when the Zagwe Kingdom began. Because Oromo are not Habesha. for inclusion it became Ethiopia as stated in the bible. Kush was known as Ethiopia by Greeks. Abyssinian accepted Greek Orthodox cannon after the crusades. Thus Ethiopia.

    Philip-Michael Yekuno I've got a few questions.... 1) Okay so Oromos, Afars and Somalis etc claim kush as their origin... is that true? 2) the original kushites on Egyptian walls resemble South Sudanese people (like the Dinka)... did horn Africans hijack kushitic identity? Lol 3) And where did Amhara , Tigrinya .. basically every "ethio-Semitic" people come from? Are they just a branch of HOA kushtic" inhabitants that left Africa, lived in Yemen, then came back as Semitic? Idk

    Sudan pyramids are older than Egypt , you may not know but this is the truth as alot of researchs shows

  • @sakogekchyan7366

    @sakogekchyan7366

    6 жыл бұрын

    Montaha shams Well not really. The first pyramids in Sudan were built during the Napatan perriod of the kingdom of Kush. This was contemporary with the new kingdom of Egypt. And contrary to popular believe they had nothing to do with the old pyramids in Egypt such as those in Giza. The Nubian style of two building was focused more around small private chapels with the burial chamber be underneath the pyramid instead of inside of it. In short the pharaohs of Egypt were buried inside pyramids while the kings of Kush were buried underneath them. This is a good resource for information. The website was created by a Sudanese story.

    The pyramids in Sudan are not only more in number but also older than those of Egypt

  • @sakogekchyan7366

    @sakogekchyan7366

    6 жыл бұрын

    Gasim Hayder The ones in Sudan are younger but we should stop comparing the two types of pyramids because they are not related. The Nubian pyramids are made more like grave monuments that you would see in modern cemeteries which is why they are smaller; not because Nubians were not capable of building big ones. Typically the burial chamber was underneath the pyramid. The ones in Egypt on the other hand are the tomb building itself with the Corredor‘s, halls Chambers being inside the pyramid itself. Two different building styles with different architecture and it’s wrong to compare the two.

    Mrchicken 123 Actually they are not copies and they are certainly not inferior. They are two different types of pyramids that serve different purposes. First of all the first pyramids in Sudan were built during the Napatan period; centuries before Maroë, this makes them later than the ones in Egypt but earlier than what you are implying. Second they are different types of structures. First of all they are more narrow which is a uniquely Nubian design. Then it is worth mentioning that they serve different purposes then the ones in Egypt. The ones in Egypt are built in such a way that the pyramid structure is the building itself containing chambers and Corredor’s. The Nubian pyramids are predominantly grave monuments with the burial chamber being underneath the pyramid. Most of them have a small funerary chapel in front. The pyramid itself he’s more like a memorial marker or tombstone. It contains no chambers. So these monuments are a uniquely Sudanese creation that show little or no influence from the pyramids of Giza.

    TRUTHTEACHER2007 because pharaohs were in Sudan first then they went to Egypt to expand their empire I think so they made bigger pyramids there but not as many as the ones in Sudan

    hello . i know i'm late to like and comment on this video; but better late than never.anyway some of the facts that you have mentioned are surprising even to me as someone who was born and raised in sudan but i guess it is beacuse i don't read alot about sudan however what was really surprising is that you said { if i remember correctly} " that the offical languages in sudan are arabic and english and i was like " whaaaaaat!!!! that can't be true" seriously that can't be true; there is a different between an offical language and a language that people learn at school .and offical language is a language that people actually use to communicate with each others and clearly sudanese doesn't use english to communicate with eachothers " maybe in sudan in the past but most tribes there have local languagesx" now although sudan was colonialized by british but alot of parents wouldn't allow their kids to learn english . i don't know maybe it was that time people might have used english as a second language but surely not after the indpedence. i think it is safe to say that the offical language in sudan is arabic but there are alot of tribes that don't speak arabic or have a very broken arabic. so yeah there are alot of local language for almost every tribes .

    Official languages are the languages in which the government and major businesses operate, not the languages people speak at home
