I agree with you, my President, but the misuse is inappropriate here! The main problem of Africa is Dictators misusing and abusing the populations. This misuse and abuse of power by the dictatorial leaders is the main reason for the problems eg refugees, stealing, ill-treatment of the people in a state where democracy is only a word not put into action.

Many former slaves of Muslims (all races from Europe, Asia, and Africa) are now considered Arab (that’s called inclusion). I won’t get into Arab Slavery vice Euro/American Chattel slavery as there are major differences but the Arabs did not teach the Europeans how to be enslavers.

Even in Tanzania especially in Zanzibar many of them are proud to identify as Araba even though they have a dark skin tone and for many generations their ancestors originate from Congo who were taken as slaves to work in Zanzibar plantations, some of them are mixed afro arabs force to identify as 100 % arabs we call them waarabu koko, The worst part is that the arabs still see them as Africans, wont even let them marry their daughters unless they are so rich or hold power.

Not sure how the Arab league controls you, but anyway I just want to let you know that most of these people here are Christians who despise Islam and extend that hate to Arabs. Anti-Islam sentiment precedes Anti-arab sentiment, that's why many Lebanese Christians who only speak Arabic don't consider themselves Arab, just to distinguish themselves from Muslims.

And we never like to be called habsha because it's an insulted and derogatory word. On the other hand, Eritrean are the League of Arabs and they call themselves habsha because they hate being called Ethiopian, but also they want to be assimilated with Ethiopia so we will not recognize them when they live in our country as refugee.

Many comments here are praising Museveni’s speech. The problem is they don’t really know who he is. They don’t know his real history. Museveni loves talking like this, he is always lecturing everyone about what’s wrong with Africa and Africans, yet he is the biggest hypocrite. After nearly 4 decades in power, can he show how all his advice has been implemented in Uganda? That country today should be Africa’s top performer in all sectors if he had put all his words into action, which is definitely not the case. Today, after nearly 40 years in power, Uganda is a failed state, run and owned by Museveni, his family and his greedy hangers-on.

There are certain Sudanese groups whom are assimilated Arabs while there are others who DO have Semitic admixture. Regardless, being an Arab is simply an ethnic identity. If someone speaks Arabic as a first or second language, or if they have adopted Arab customs, typically they can be considered Arabs.

Arab is nationality by virtue of acceptance of the Arab league charter and admission to the Arab league. Arab is not the misconception of skin tone or complexity. Arabs come in all shades from dark to light skinned better than most southern Europeans. Then there are hundreds of tribes within the Arab nations.
