I believe he missed showing the first step which is poly gloss coating the ceramic tile first. You can also laminate the tile first as well by pressing a sheet over the ceramic for some time then placing the picture over the top again pressing the picture. The exact times I am not sure yet. I did it for wood and it worked as well. Be sure the picture is printed on sublimation paper in reverse.

They are steps to follow when sublimating onto the tile. In this video i explained that I would of coated it with PolyGloss before hand. Thanks for your comment and recommendations. Kindly note that in the video 1:00 i mentioned that the tile was coated with polygloss before hand and i also placed a card at the top of the screen where that video shows the process of how you use the Polygloss to coat the different hard substrates.

You can get poly gloss sealer at Lowes or home Depot. Just brush it on a non glazed tile. It gives same results.

Thanks for your questions and comment. When i use Polygloss and whenever i do a video i always recommend persons to be careful when it comes to dishwashers are the temperature can affect the final product. It would be best to wash by hand for more protection. I hope this helps in answering your question.

Is that a different heat press than the one you used for the plate? Also on the plates, after you transfer you can eat off them and are they dish washer safe? Just wondering about all of these things and how many heat press are there or you just need one with different attachments. Thanks

Thanks for your question. Yes, the heat press I used in this video was the HPN Signature Series Auto-open Heat Press - shrsl.com/3gcw4. The one I used for the video with the plate was a 6 in 1 Amazon heat press. So what I normally advise is if you use the Polygloss method and sublimate a plate, use it as an ornament. Yes, you can eat off them as the company who produces the Polygloss noted that it is food safe, however, as I mentioned I rather use it as an ornament. In addition, it is not dishwasher safe, too much heat applied to that specific plate after it was coated with Polygloss and baked can cause the Polygloss to reactivate so keep it away from heat and microwaves. For sublimating plates, you will need a heat press with different attachments. See the link to a professional 8 in 1 press that can work - shrsl.com/41pxo. In addition, if you want to have a sublimation plate that you can use in the oven, microwave, and dishwasher and surely be able to eat out of it, then it may be best to purchase a ready-prepared sublimate blank plate and sublimate your design onto it. Thanks for your comment. In this video this was a regular tile that I use. What I did was applied polygloss onto the tile giving it the ability sublimate. What about sublimating on to rock slate that’s dark blue

Sublimating on dark colors will be very difficult. If you surface is white you can change the color or your design to dark blue etc.

Does the Polygloss and/or the sublimated graphic comes off with acetone or paint thinner?

Thanks for your question, This was actually the plan of course when that time comes that I can get my own home. When that time comes I plan to do custom tiles in the Bathroom and the kitchen. So far they have been staying up and working. Exposure to a lot of sunlight for example 1 year or more, the tile will start to fade.

Thanks for your question. Yes, if you are interested in sublimating you will surely need a sublimation printer or a printer that was converted into a sublimation printer and you will also need sublimation ink. For sublimation printers I would recommend the Epson F170 and this comes with sublimation ink. If you are looking at converting a printer then you can use the Epson Et15000 or Epson ET2760.

Can this ceramic tile photo fade if exposed outdoor?

Yes, it is a possibility if it stays in the sun for long periods it can fade.

How much Polygloss do you brush on porcelain tile. Mine looks a little sparse and has brush strokes. Can I coat with Polygloss again? Great video and thanks in advance for your reply. Carol

What I would normally do is pour on a lot and when using the pain brush be very very gentle. Do not put so much pressure on painting on the polygloss, the lighter you pass the brush over the tile the better. In terms of redoing the tile, I think it’s best to clean it off completely and go from there. once you follow the process correctly they will be sealed and can be used any place. however you would want to still protect them. I never put them under the team of tremendous heat after printing on them but i believe it can withstand the heat.

Thanks for your question. If you do not have a heat press its going to be a bit difficult as you do need pressure on the tile. Maybe a handheld press might work but you would have to apply a lot of pressure for a period of time.

Yes, there is a process you have to follow. Once you apply the Polygloss onto the tile you have to allow it to cure by allowing it to dry for a bit they curing it in an oven. If you have time you can watch this video 👉 kzread.info/dash/bejne/gKeIrZeQh7O9esY.html
