Studio One - Setup MIDI Keyboard (Use Keys, Faders, Knobs, Buttons, and Transport)
Музыка
How to setup a MIDI keyboard w/controls in PreSonus Studio One. You will be able to use the keys to play instruments, and also use any buttons, faders, knobs, and transport controls.
#PreSonus #StudioOne
Studio One makes it really easy to setup a MIDI keyboard. If the keyboard you are using has the profile included in Studio One, all you have to do is select the profile. But, if a profile for your MIDI controller is not included, you can still use it in Studio One by setting it up manually and using MIDI Learn to program any knobs, faders, and buttons.
In this video we will be setting up a keyboard manually (M-Audio Axiom 61) and after we are done we will be able to play any virtual instruments, use the Play, Stop, and Record buttons, and use our faders and knobs.
When programming your Buttons, you can assign any of the available controls to the button. If your controllers has buttons, take some time to look through all the available options, you can really speed up your workflow by programming common tasks to buttons on your MIDI keyboard.

I can't thank you enough. I'm relatively new to Studio One and for a second there I thought my new keyboard was gonna be useless lol. Thanks for such a concise, helpful video!
The best and easy to digest tutorial ever. Damn these controllers are so complicated but you did everything right in this video. Good Job.
This video helped me out a great deal..I've just started implementing Templates into my work flow to speed things up and realized that I haven't taking full advantage of the faders, knobs, and buttons on my M-Audio Oxygen..this will definitely improve my work flow...Thanks!!!
This was SO helpful. I've been avoiding how to figure this out for 15 years, and your tutorial made it so easy to get value out of old hardware that I had.
thank you! one year after i bought a Alesis V49, now i know how to intigrate these knobs and buttons :D
S1 is really straight forward. But this, I'd never have figured out without your video!
Great F'n job saved me a huge amount of time. Instead of me having to explain to one of my DAW build clients I simply sent him your video. Big thanks BenoniStudio !
Thanks so much mate!! My nektar impact keyboard was really starting to do my head in after updating studio one and purchasing a new laptop, let the music begin!!

Same here lol. Updates often ruining everything and make certain hardware not work correctly anymore!
Even though I am still having issues, this video pointed me in the right direction.
After all these years I finally found someone to explain how to assign midi! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

That video was right on time! Been looking for videos to help me set up my controller, but a lot of them didn't really break it down, and explain it, while really demonstrating it the way you did. Too Cool. Appreciate it. 😎🎵🎼🎵🎸🎹🎶🎤🎧🎷🎸🎺

AYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THANKS MANE !!!
Super Thanks-!!
Perfect thankyou
very helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks. Solid video that's really helped me in my move from Pro Tools. It'd be nice if Presonus allowed us to edit controller names after they've been entered, to move the buttons to visually match the keyboard's layout, and to have standard Transport icons on the buttons assigned to Transport ... but there's no such thing as perfection :)
excellent video helped me a lot I also have the same controller
This procedure not necessarily work for every controllers. Some controllers use a separate protocol named Mackie for the transport keys (stop, play, record, etc), so in order to use those specific keys you need to create an additional external device using that protocol. Also depending of the OS of your PC ( Windows or MAC) the options you will see could be different.

You my good sir, are a god damn legend. This video was already wonderful and finally got my keyboard keys working properly. And this comment was the cherry on top of the cake. Finally my controller is at 100% working capacity! Thank you!

Thats what i am struggling with right now: Novation LaunchKey 49 (Mackie) and StudioOne 6 Artist. I can record using what i have in software, but not all physical parts are connected, channels overlap,..and so far i can't find any help (maybe blablabla "no problem" and nada). Even with stand-alone plugins (Analogue Lab, Native, Kontakt) the sound just on and off (the connection, buffering or whatever it is). Mapping on Novation site is confusing or "unable" or making everything worse. Of course, i am very new to this (MIDI), ignorant and unexperienced, but there should be some technical support, 'not everyone is born with midi knowledge' ;)
Thaks a lot! I watched it 4 times and finally understood what to do!!! What a fight. for my brains. Just f....up with a Korg Nanokontrol Studio controller, that does not come easy to do the thing!
