Thank You for this beautiful video. I too am I breast cancer survivor. I’ve been on Tamoxifens for the last 2 years. I just turned 50. I’m beautiful and I want my life back. It’s not just fatigue, weight gain and the anxious feelings. It also affects your vagina, lack of sex drive, moisture and other stuff. I have desires and I need my quality of life back. After watching many videos like this… it only solidifies that after 2 years on Tamoxifen you don’t need it. And, yes I’m tied of all the oncology visits and blood work in 2 years my costs have exceeded over 100.000 dollars that’s not including surgeons and other stuff. I didn’t get a lot of hot flushes but some weight gain did occur. Thank You for your video. So heart warming and real.

I have so much to say ❤ but first of all - big hug. Im so sorry. I’m in my 30s with 2 kids and am supposed to be taking tamoxifen after BC. I stopped taking it for 5 mo without consulting anyone and now am going to give it another try after my surgeon and oncologist confronted me about it. My loving advice is even though it’s stressful and hard, take the time off work to get a good therapist and even a new oncologist if you need to. They could half your dose to see if that helps… or add other supports. That said, if I was in my 20s and didn’t have two kids depending on me I probably would take the risk if side effects were that bad. Body image is no joke - treat it like you would cancer and try to be loving and gentle with yourself. Do things that make you feel beautiful. Your videos last year really helped me and I’ll be cheering you on no matter what.

Hi! I am watching this while seriously considering quitting tamoxifen. I am older, I am 50 and I have been on it for two years. For me, it’s pain I am in so much pain, especially around my hips. I am gaining weight and feel out of control. My other issue is anxiety/ depression. I feel awful. I know I should be grateful I survived but I am anxious, bad tempered and moody and I cry…a lot! I really want to say to you that I get it…totally but I think it’s even harder for you as you’re so young! You have been really brave to share this and whatever you decide it must be right for you. I hope you’re doing better now ( your video was a year ago) and I think you are amazing. Thank you for the video. I think I appreciate knowing I am not alone in struggling with this drug. I pray you stay cancer free and live a great life! ❤

I have no experience with this, but I feel for you so much. This sounds so hard. Medication can be so life altering and you should do what you feel is best, I’m a strong believer that only WE know what is best for OUR bodies. Best of luck, thank you for sharing so honestly ❤️

Hi, I came across your channel because of ballet-I recently restarted as an adult and have been loving your videos! I had a brain tumor removed last year. The only advice I can provide is on finding a therapist. I agree 10000% that you need someone who has experience with cancer and chronic illness. Totally different needs. My cancer center has a survivorship department. They set me up with a rehabilitation psychologist, who sees patients with disabilities and chronic illness. We did ACT therapy and she gave really great practical advice too, not your typical CBT marriage and family counselor. My oncologist set up the initial referral for me-hopefully your hospital has a similar department. I totally feel you though on the ‘what’s the point of living if my quality of life is bad’ 😞 I don’t take ongoing meds but often wish I never had surgery.

Hi, I’m 41 and on ovarian suppression lupron and tamoxifen! I can’t imagine being in my 20’s and having to go through this shit! However, I think because you are young … if you take tamoxifen for the 5 years it’s being recommended you will still be young when it’s finished and have a really good chance of never getting cancer again! At the moment my side effects are night sweats with some headaches… I exercise every day and I’m also recovering from an eating disorder… so imagine! I drink tons more water which helps, take cannary CBD oil and I do more strength training to build muscle… food wise… being in menopause can put your insulin out of wack so you need to be mindful of sugars… I try to have more protein but I’m a vegetarian so it is a struggle … you are doing amazingly so please try to keep going with your tamoxifen .. how old will you be in 5 years? See that as your goal point.. your new beginning where you can put this part behind you and know that you did absolutely everything to reduce your risk of a reoccurrence xx I’m on Instagram @myedandbcrecoveryjourney… if you ever want to chat or connect to others in a similar situation it’s a really supportive community xx

Hi love, first of all you are amazing, brave, beautiful, and stronger than you know! I came across your videos when I was searching for info on mastectomy recovery. There is not much out there like you said and it has been so helpful watching your journey. I am 40 and was just diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma that is hormone positive as well. I chose to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction. I too will also likely be put on Tamoxifen but I have many concerns and mixed feelings about it due to side effects. I CANNOT imagine being your age and being put on this drug. I am sure you have done your research and realized the risks and benefits. Listen to your body and your gut on this one. Don't let anyone tell you what is best for YOU. You have inspired me so much and I may actually do some vlogs of my journey as well to help women my age because there is suprisingly not a lot of content on this stuff. Hugs and prayers for you darlin!!!

I’m not going to take it either, due to some really likely scary & possibly irreversible side effects for me personally, but think I’m probably signing my own death warrant. However, Letrozole for 6/12 made me want to be “put down” & there was only bleakness in front of me. I’m a fully believing Christian & just hope that I will be guided to do what is right for me & I pray that for you, too. Feeling happy & at peace with oneself is vital - no point being alive & wishing you weren’t. God bless you & all who suffer from intolerable side effects from preventative medicine.

how are you doing now? i opted out of it, after getting the first bottle, but then doing tons of research, watching it make my mother crazy, many years earlier, seeing friends (in my cancer support group) get on it and lose their minds, and a lady in her 70’s starting her period again, stuff like that. i am not 5 years out and doing well without it. so i saw your comment and wanted to know if you are ok. i see you posted a year or so ago.

God bless you sweetie. I'm on my 6th year on tamoxifen and it's as horrible as ever. I never comment but when you said you have no quality of life I really felt for you. I went from 20mg recently to 10mg but no weight-loss or relief. My bone pain is the worst it's ever been. I contemplate every day if I should stop. I wish you all the best, your so young to be going through this.

I'm so sorry and so happy that you have at least gotten to the point where you can decide how you would like to live your life. Do you think you could send a message to your doctor in the portal? (Sometimes doesn't require an appointment). What about switching to another medication that serves the same purpose? Good luck, and again, sorry xo

Have you done the predictor tool that tells you exactly what % benefit this medication has for you? It can help you weigh your risks and benefits to see if it’s even worth it. There are less toxic alternatives to help reduce risk, though not a substitute for tamoxifen. For example there is research on the benefits of 13 hr daily intermittent fasting and the effects in recurrance of breast cancer. A powerful anti-cancer substance in broccoli sprouts, and certain other supplements with research behind them. I’m not saying it replaces tamoxifen but there are other things you can do to help lower recurrance. I’m struggling with the same dilemma. How do you get continued support from the oncologists if you choose not to take their medications 😔

Hi there, I know there’s a predictor tool for effectiveness of chemo, but didn’t realize there is one for tamoxifen. Can you please tell me more as I’m going through the same thing🙏🏼🩷

@@gingerjoy5836 Hi there, ok so you have to ask your oncologist what your recurrance risk is. Whatever the risk is, tamoxifen taken for full course will cut the risk by half. So if your recurrance risk is 30%, tamoxifen brings it down to 15%. But talk to oncologist. There is a tool to predict survival you can also ask them about. But i found it more helpful to ask what recurrance risk is. Cause “survival” could just mean you are living with cancer.

I have been on an intense fitness plan for 4 weeks and I have lost half of a pound. I was looking for something like this that shows me someone who understands having to make a choice between quality of life that could be shortened or a longer life with side effects.

Hi, I live in South Africa. The sun is always shining here and there is always the risk of developing skin cancer if you have a light skin. I developed a growth on the lower eye lid of my right eye. I do not know if it is cancer or just a benign growth but I went on a high nutrition diet for about two months and the growth have shrunk noticeably. I would like to share the diet with you. The soup Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat. Just add all the ingredients in a pot, add boiling water and switch the stove on high till the water boils. Then lower the heat until the water simmer, Let the soup simmer for an hour. The soup is now ready. I would only drink water in the morning. At 12h00 I would start eating the soup. There will be about two helpings that you can eat in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. I also ate a fruit salad every day in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. (Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.) During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you. I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that the cancer will not return. Amen. I would also like to share the following six videos with you about salvation and two videos about evolution: Evolution vs. God kzread.info/dash/bejne/p5eTuZuPpN2wYKQ.html DESTROYING Evolution In Under 3 Minutes kzread.info/dash/bejne/pYuZxbKworTcYsY.html Watch the Holy Spirit Work in Her Heart (Very Moving) kzread.info/dash/bejne/m3Z50atrpZnReaw.html Fearing The Lord, God’s Discipline & Sharing The Gospel kzread.info/dash/bejne/lnmHl7mQZpmzotI.html A Clear Gospel Presentation by Pastor Steven Anderson - How to go to Heaven kzread.info/dash/bejne/e4x5x6-Qc9vforQ.html The Plan of Salvation kzread.info/dash/bejne/gqGfyrSGgNnaj5M.html How to Get Saved kzread.info/dash/bejne/k56Lxs2uptW6ZtY.html The Truth About Hell (Selected Scriptures) kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4quxMqYlK_XY9Y.html Best regards Chris “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. i know this is an older video but i also have a pain condition that is effected by my estrogen levels. I have learned how much certain foods influence your hormone levels. if you are off the meds maybe a way to regulate things for yourself might be with diet. i completely cut out all soy (which is added into more foods than we realize), started eating raw carrots and more leafy greens. there are lists you can check out that are 'anti-estrogenic' , or hormone balancing. 💗 sending hugs!
