With division 1 there is classes but not like diablo, WoW, etc. The "classes" is what classified gear u choose are. I want division 2 to be like that because having different play styles (tank, healer, dps, skill damage, etc) be viable in high difficulties (legendary/heroic). I know division 1 is completely different then division 2 but u can be whatever play style in legendary/heroic and NOT struggle with ur play style (if built correct and/or a good team) in division 1. Division 2 I see dps and healer builds, nothing else, in high difficulties. Which I'm sad and mad because I sometimes just want to get in the enemies face and eat bullets or sit back and let my skills do the work.

BIS was the term for a LONG TIME in many other games. I don't know who to blame, but we should find someone.

Best in slot was a term adopted by early vanilla World of Warcraft players for it was a term to use for certain pieces of gear that would be most beneficial for that character Spec and Class

I like Meta better because BIS refers to a single piece of gear for a specific build/strat/class, while Meta means the whole build/strat/class. I do agree however, that in this game Meta depends on the content. So instead of using it as an umbrella term, it should be "Meta...for PvP or open world, missions, raids, etc" and then suggest BIS for that Meta. Edit: I also feel like there is an aspect of popularity to the term; even if something is not the best in terms of performance it can still be Meta if the majority of players use it, while this is not the case for BIS because it's supposed to be the best as the name implies.

Very detailed video however you're comparing semantics that dont have the same base meaning. Meta is what the general population thinks is the go to loadout/build and uses. BiS is what's actually best in each choosable slot, based on maths. One is human bias, one is maths.

​@davidbryant7300 Usually the riot foam chem launcher and the eclipse gear set, probably with backpack that has creeping death on it. Damage doesn't actually matter and you just want as many ways to spread the foam as possible. These builds don't kill things. They, hold, disrupt, confuse, or any combination of the above the targets so that other people can kill them more easily. They can be extremely useful at certain points in certain legendary missions instead of a healer. They are also just really fun to use in a group inmost situations.

It won't stop because it is for the video tittles. It is a trend for every game that can make use of the word ''META''. That way people think they're about to watch a build they SHOULD be using to get the fake damage that most The Division youtubers show ( : You get to know them when you see those tittles that say nothing for an actual Division player. Stuff like: ''This Strike's META build melts everything on PVP/PVE''

It goes both ways bud. We’ve got bitter “not like other girls” wackjobs such as yourself getting pissed over people wanting optimal builds. Meanwhile eating literal ass with whatever shit you’re running, slowing down legendary runs etc. Let people play how they want. If they want to go BiS, they go BiS. If they want to experiment as long as they can pull their weight then by all means.

The nice thing about the build space and usage contexts in div2 is that there are many builds that get the job done well enough to meet a variety of build approaches. The whole maximizing of the dps transfer function and everything else is useless is a pointless exercise that boils down to reverse engineering the damage calc formula. But that misses the forrest for the trees- namely that the other variables of the context drive decisions moreso than the raw math. Simple models make for simple answers.

What irks me is when people call max rolled items "god rolled" Max health and repair skills on a 5.11 glove isn't God rolled. It's Max.

I thought the build that was best for everything was Coyote mask, picaro's holster, second red rolled Brazos piece, vigilance on the backpack, closer chest piece rolled red, Fenris Group piece, and a grupo piece, and you use the kingbreaker. This gives you a base of 40% amplified damage, and 25% increase from vigilance, with over 150% CHD and 50% CHC. You pretty much hit for 1.3mil per crit hit headshot, and 850k per body shot. You're not reloading a lot because the each shot does so much damage.

Coming back to division from ARPGs is like talking to toddlers. I guess its because the ahooter elements of the genre attracrs a much more casual playerbase. There's nuance to it but it's the difference between Elmos and Famas/F2000 strikers. Regulus and D50 HH builds etc. The terms are not interchangeable and whoever started this shit deserves a prison sentence.
