You are spot on. It's wave after wave of negative press with no facts to back it up. I see very little negative Quest pieces in the press. Dont get me wrong. Q3 is great, and since I've been traveling, I've been stuck with just my Q3, and I miss my PSVR2. Keep up the good work.

I've been toying with the notion of doing some material from my hotel, but I only have my Q3, and I prefer PSVR2 content. I have a video in mind, though, about the Q3 saving me on the road. It sucks being on the road, but at least I can still have some kind of VR.

I agree! I personally love the PSVR2. I own it and a Quest 3, and I play PSVR2 way more. I think most people hating on it haven't tried it. If I had to choose one, I'd go with the PSVR2 without hesitation.

I got mine on day one and it is the best bit of kit I have ever had, along with some mind blowing games, even the ports have some finishing touches on them that make them the best in vr on any platform. I also can’t get my head around why people say or keep saying this is dead when it continues to get more amazing games every week and it is not slowing down.

The psvr2 is usbc so it could be used on ps6 aswell. I do think sony could have ported the big psvr games over to get everything in one place. The quest is a mobile phone , it will never be a proper gaming headset, it is for casual gamers which they upgrade every 12 months. Psvr2 could be used for the next 2 generations because it uses the power of the console. Sony need to put a team together porting older games over to vr to build up their vr library, they should have been doing that during the ps5 launch and psvr2 launch. Just converting the camera to vr is a viable vr game option.

Instant like for the thumbnail. The narrative is bogus. 7 exclusìves dropped in 2023. You forgot Synapse, Switchback, Resident Evil 4 & Firewall 2. Itll sell in time, past the 5 million initial user base. Once they keep the same library for PSVR 3 the userbase will grow. Ive upgraded to Ps5 & not upgraded my headset but i now have the money for it, im just waiting for a new bundle or even a new model before i spend this kind of cash, but hey i might get the urge to just get it, or i might wait tiil the 2 year mark to see if theres an announcement. Would love a Metro or Alien bundle.

PS: I ordered Gran turismo & a racing wheel it'll be here this week. I figure me & the kids can get something out of it on TV & when i do upgrade, Ill have better immersion for it

@@VrDaveTheRave yea I think I'll just save the money cuz knowing Sony, the PSVR 1 has multiple bundles to choose from & two different models, CUH-Z1 & CUH-Z2 models but if they don't do anything with it next year I'm definitely picking 1 up. I'm hoping they make a slim model with pancake lenses cuz the brick is outdated, it needs to be at least 40% slimmer like Quest 3.

Totaly agree and another reason is also, that PSVR2 is not from USA, but Metaquest is. So that's why western youtubers and media dont like PSVR so much. Next reason is, that normal ordinary VR player has much less time to play, than people who bought PSVR2 for complete youtube gameplay videos and that woud like to have every month new AAA game to stream and make money from it. And they are now disapointed that new triple A games are released only 3x per year. But for me it is enough. I still have finished only 10 games (including one triple A game) during whole year and another 10 games that I bought in sales are still waiting in library.

This is a massive conspiracy in the VR industry, the Media, KZread Influencers are all playing their part in it i also believe Sony are being forced to hold back on promoting the headset so Meta can continue to lead the market.

For anyone who doesn't have a gaming PC, PSVR2 is a great choice because a gaming PC and a headset like Valve Index will cost you much more than PSVR2 and PS5. I have a Minisforum UM790 Pro which comes with an AMD Ryzen 9 7940 HS, it's a fast little computer that plays almost everything I throw at it, but it won't play Half Life Alyx 'cause the graphics card is not good enough, so I will be buying a gaming PC when the PSVR2 PC adapter comes out. I'm thinking about this laptop ASUS ROG Strix G17 which comes with Geforce RTX 4070 Ryzen 9 7945 HX and 32 GB DDR5, this should keep me playing for a long time. Having to buy a PS5 just so I can use PSVR2 is not a dealbreaker for me because PS5 has a lot of good games and if you are so broke that you can only afford a Quest 2 then you should stay away from video games.

One point PSVR2 defenders don't talk about. Yes, it's a great headset. Yes, it's got some amazing games. BUT!!! wait for it...PSVR2 has no games the majority of VR players want to play, because all of those VR games/VR mods happen to be on PCVR, GET IT??? I want to spend 500 hours in Skyrim, Fallout, Morrowind, Subnautica, Farcry, Obduction, Riven etc, etc, etc. HECK! I can't even get friggin Astrobot or Hitman 3 on PSVR2!!! GET IT??? This is the issue!!!

PSVR 2 PC adapter is set to launch August 7th for $60 USD. Unfortunate that it requires an adapter but necessary since there aren't enough graphics cards that support display port through USB-c to the proper spec. Also, if you gave PC VR Quest users the option of a $60 adapter to run lossless visuals to their Quests via display port, many would jump at the chance. The relatively limited lineup of PSVR 2 games IS an issue, but there's still a lot of good games to play on it. Shame they didn't make it backward compatible with PSVR 1 and its 600+ games. There were a lot of great exclusives on that headset. As for it having "no games the majority of VR players want to play" I think you're forgetting that the vast majority of VR players only have a Quest 2 that they've never connected to a PC (around 18 million). PC compatibility will be nice for PSVR 2 though. There's a lot of great VR games on PC.

Meta has the media tied up, the part I hate is ppl actually fall for it, the only good part is they are dumping PSVR2 headsets on 2nd hand market Like crazy, bad part is that means less players, but we have had this since version 1

I wanted PSVR2 but still had so many PSVR1 games I hadn't got round to playing and most weren't compatible with VR2 so that was a dissapointment. I held off getting one and waited on price coming down a bit but hasn't come down much at all. There's also not many really good games that I'm interested in. I ended up getting the Quest 3. Cheap games... not all great, but many good games and it cost me almost half the price of the PSVR2. Also it's getting tons of great updates lately and the mixed reality is great. I do hope Sony and other game developers don't give up on supporting PSVR2 and that more really good games come out for it. Maybe I'll get one when it's cheaper but for now I can't justify buying it as I now have 2 VR headsets.

in contrast to the original PSVR launch that elevated the entire industry with hardware and software innovation, this latest "effort" features, what.. one exclusive port of their racing title? The rest are all regurgitated titles from the previous generation of PC games that many of us VR enthusiast played through years earlier. And now its been devalued by 100 dollars due to mismanagement and lack of effort just to clear out stock? A fine way to show appreciation for us early adopters. They havent even had the good sense and decency to allow us to play our flat games in 3D or to port over some of their previous VR titles such as Dreams, Blood and Truth or Astrobot? And now theyve voted against PSVR2 by making Astrobot into a flat tilte. Its not hate, its disappointment.

The hate is ridiculous mate Good video, and I'm loving my psve2.... Can't wait to connect it to my PC..... just like my quest 2 and 3 💯

I bought one and use it with GT7 all the time. I also play RE4 Remake exclusively in VR but I have to admit there is still concern about all of the reports circling around that Sony is dropping support for the VR2. I hope not.

Hm, if they didn't turn off HDR for PC and other features, I might choose it. But my plan is getting the Quest 3 at end of year. Bigger field of view is important to me

I agree that turning off features on PC is a negative, but there may be reasons for that, both contractually and technically because not all PCs use the same graphics cards etc. It's hard to find definitve information. I have both headsets and love the Quest 3, but the FOV is the same on both at 110 degrees.

Thats crazy i made a post on Facebook yesterday basically saying the same thing. Im tired of people bashing psvr2. I own all headsets. And have compared them all with same games. The reason psvr2 had a rough start is because of our economy. It came out for sale at the worst possible time. I had to buy a piece each year. 5 years ago this wouldn't of been a problem.

Pretty much the same amount of exclusives and then most games run better on PSVR2 than Quest. You do get lazy ports every now and then but for the most part you can’t beat psvr2. I care about graphics and visual experience. Deep blacks and vibrant colors. There’s tons of games on PSVR2. Ridiculous media narrative.

Any additional hardware accessories from Sony will usually die after sometime because they create the hardware and lacks the games to support it .And this hardware is not the first one that's heading the same direction . Don't ever waste money and buy future ones . Don't try to make others feel good because they bought one, it will collect dusts even with the coming dongle for PC .

There really is a ton of content coming to the headset. The no games argument is a load of crock. 4 AAAs. I do think Sony could do better to communicate and market as well as sell controllers separately. But I absolutely love my PSVR2.

Even if Sony were to completely stop making VR games, as long as 3rd parties continue to make games for the publishers the platform isn't dead. The news agencies pander to drama and whatever dumb bullshit stories that leads them to write.

But there are no AAA third party developer. AAA is basically always first or second party. If you only want to play quest games but with no access to the new batman, assassins creed, asgards wrath and whatever comes from all those meta first party developers in the future the psvr2 might fit, but in that case why not get the same price wireless quest 3 with all those extra aaa games?

To be fair the PSVR2 is pretty dead in the water right now along with most others because it really is a niche market right now and most company do not want to make a massive investment to push it more than they are right now. Ask yourself how many people do you actually know with any brand of VR headset? I am willing to bet it is going to be a low number out of all the people you personally know and there in the problem lays, slow uptake. However there is one company that is pushing heavily towards a VR future and that is Meta for all their faults I guess at least they are trying something new I guess, Other company's will be watching very closely at this to see if there really is a success to be had or not and if it fails they lose nothing but Meta does. Honestly let the clown go first and then beat it if it does take off is what is likely to happen in this scenario. I have used the PSVR2 previously as well as the original oculus rift and the quest 2 because the two people I know have these sets between them, I don't know anyone with a Valve Index to try so I cant even make a remotely fair comparison but right now for me the best was the PSVR2. Sony are bringing the PSVR2 to PC because that is an untapped market for them that they can push more sales of the headset and good for them because at the end of the day they are in it for profit. Sony are going about this PC dongle release a tad wrong in my opinion because they are releasing it missing features that are native the PSVR2 and honestly those features should be on PC too because it has a killer feature set and a damn fine device that I would buy for PC so I watch this closely to see if they back down on the nerfing of that headset on PC. Sorry not sorry to all those hardcore Sony fans that are about to rage respond that Sony should care for it's users, it's a company at the end of the day it is all about profit and that minuscule percentage of you die hard fans are not going to change that (you know who you are). Also how does taking shots at the "other" headset that you will not "name" make you any better than all those people you highlight about sharpening their pencils? shots fires is still shots fired regardless of naming that brand or not and you are only sinking to the same level as those you are calling out for the exact same reason.

Thanks for the comment. It's true that if Sony put a triple AAA game out every month, it still wouldn't sell headsets in ten years. Vr will be big, and even if Quest wasn't here, it would still be the same

@VrDaveTheRave OK like I don't know people that cover VR in all aspects, like I don't cover VR? I was just as invested in psvr2, it's a sad situation but Sony have abandoned it. That's not to say that some good games won't come out or it won't be saved by flat to VR mods but this is the reality and if you want to try and convince people otherwise then you do that..

@davidrogerson2764 look, I've been holding out for hope like a lot of other VR youtubers I know, we wanted this to be a win but insiders at Sony have said that there are only 2 first party games in development and they probably won't get released. Sony have given the flat to VR mods some source code so they can make games instead and are releasing a pc adaptor because Sony are done with it. They made poor choices and it cost them in sales so they couldn't give a flying F about it, didnt even consider astro bot for VR. psvr2 will still have some good games from third party devs but saying Sony haven't abandoned it is just ridiculous at this point.
