I disagree. I am a "Hardcore" player because I am good at playing. To see beautiful graphics I watch a Marvel movie. The gameplay with Quest 3 without cable is much better than on PSVR 2. I have checked it and I am much more efficient playing without cable. The most important thing is the gameplay, not the graphics. That's why Nintemdo continues to sell well. because their games have very good playability. Competitive players like to win. Playing wirelessly with Quest 3 makes me win more games than if I play the same game on PSVR 2 with cable. End of story.

All sony need to do is this: make the psvr2 wireless. Finger tracking, partner or allow yaw 2/ yaw 3 to conect with ps5 console/ headset for racing games like gt5 and roller coaster games. Have rockstar to add grand theft on psvr2. Grand theft, call of duty, need for speed, God of war. The Playstation portal, playstation room with astro. A vr space for real entertainment, cinemas, and theater rooms. So people can use the headset to watch movies when tired of playing games. Multiplayer vr games. The vr can also mix with A/r. With all those cameras on the front. Upgrade them. Sony can do it. They need to focus on what people want if they want to make money. Too much dam restriction.

I have both PSVR2 and Quest 3. They are both great but overall Quest 3 is a better buy. Biggest issue I have with PSVR2 is lack of games. There are a few great games but I expected more from Sony at this point. Quest 3 has some solid standalone games like Asgaurd’s Wrath 2 but I mostly use it to play PC games. Visual quality is great on both. Pancake lenses on quest are better but OLED screens on PSVR 2 are superior. Quest 3 price is also better. Ultimately I think price is the primary reason Quest 3 sells more.

People who already have a PS5 may buy a PSVR2 or may buy a Quest 2/3 depending on what pros/cons of each they value most. People that didn't care about PS5 before aren't going to go out and buy one for PSVR2.

1.Quest has more overall customers from Quest 2-Gen 2. It was Hybrid - mobile and PCVR (which Sony now catches up finally) 3. Meta has never been known as a gaming company before. So everybody expected Sony to release big and massive in VR - which did not happen on that scale at least. 4. PS5 + VR is much more expensive since the inflation. It is also a matter of money. 5. The fresnell lenses are not a customerfriendly choice. Many people have to mod their headset to keep the sweetspot stable or simply have trouble finding it. 6. A lot of the games available lacked support for the very important eyetracking foveation rendering. So many third party games looked slightly better then their Quest counterparts...but did not really feel next gen. 7. There is also a problem with missing marketing...and streaming is problematic. VR1 on Ps4 had Chattext during gameplay - missing in VR2. The AI-Voice is a horrible replacement for interacting with your viewers (who had this idea in the first place, it is totally weird). Worked on VR1, still works on PS5 FLAT-Mode...but VR-Gamers get this joke of a communication tool that falls appart if you have more than 2 spectators talking in the chat. Still not fixed. 8. Astrobot-Gate is another of those messages, that Sony just does not move their tiny finger for their own plattform. It is sad they have so little confindence, because the good games outrank Quest-Titles so hard.

The quest is easy to. Pick up and has easy mobile type games, for the average home owner that’s not a hard core gamer the quest 3 is a no brainier. I have got a psvr2 but thinking to get a quest 3 for even more vr in my life, with the mixed reality games it would look good along side my amazing psvr2. Quest 3 is getting people into vr and well done for that big time.

I don't think quest 3 is selling like hotcakes either, it's always in stock . It's just down to price and quest 2 hit at the perfect time for COVID. A lot tried vr and gave up on it giving their quest 2 to their kids or just leave them in attics. Unfortunately people just don't want to strap a device to their face so vr won't get big until it's slimmed down to normal glasses.

Reason why quest sells more cause 1 it's a stand alone system no wires cheaper to get into no buying a console and a headset 2 it's backwards compatible n most games update to quest 3. 3 mixed reality it's refreshing to play games were can see Ur surroundings 4 built in surround sound speakers 5 pancake lenses 6 bigscreen if don't know about it it's essentially a cinema experience 7 it has Xbox cloud app so can play Xbox gamepass games 8 plane mode use the headset on a plane is so nice U can jus watch movies with IMAX screen what psvr2 has is 1 better graphics great visuals more sharper quality 2 controllers with sense controllers make better immersive experience 3 longer playtimes cause it's wired to playstation 4 eye tracking is neat feature 5 easier to cast to TV for friends to see that's really it Im a hardcore gamer i prefer better experience gameplay over graphics quest 3 features out weight psvr2 in my head way much the freedom u get n the safer I feel makes quest 3 a no brainer

I really wish I had with the NMS update. I may try it on PCVR and see how it is, but my main saves and most of my playtime is PS... I definitely wouldn't sell mine.

I don't even need to watch this video to declare that this is just nonsense. Sony is the one and only "killer" of PSVR2. Yeah, maybe for 1/10 Meta helped it, but it's nothing comapred to what Sony did themselves. 1. They literally abandoned the platform. I love how Sony fanboys (Jesus, there are still some left after EVERYTHING they've did recently?) talk again and again about the same games - GT7, RE4 and RE8 VR modes, Horizon CotM, Synapse and some multiplatform as if it's everything they will ever need in life. So, my dear oblivious people, please answer a very simple question - after all those "State of Play"s and especially this whole "June-month-of-gaming" thing, what is the next big VR game from Sony's studios? Maybe The Last of Us VR? Ghost of Tsushima VR? God of War VR? Oh, maybe it's the continuation of Astrobot VR game from the PSVR1? Wait a second, the second game won't be for VR and won't have a VR mode for some reason... STRANGE, ISN'T IT? Don't even mention multiplatform like Alien game, Behemoth, Metro and so on - Quest owners will be able to play it too, and even more (hello from exclusive Batman Arkham game!). How exactly Sony moves the VR industry nowadays? By closing the studio that created Blood and Truth or by firing a lot of people from Horizon CotM studio? Exactly. 2. If you didn't know that Jim Ryan, the previous head on Sony Interactive Enterntainment, was VERY skeptical about VR (and even a couple a weeks before just before PSVR2 announcement he made himself he litarally gave an interview about how VR is not a thing just yet and that they will stop supporting it for the time being but will continue to "research the possibilities" of the technology), then you are very far from the gaming industry and VR in particular. I won't be surprised if he literally cancelled some VR games himself just because he didn't like VR itself. Unfortunately, new head of SIE is either the same or even worse in that regard (at least in other regards he is definitely worse, much worse...), so situation won't change in the future. 3. Sony announced PCVR support through adapter. There is no way that they just want to sell the leftovers to some madmen who want a headset that won't support it's main features like eye-tracking, haptic feedback, HDR and so on on PC because they don't plan to support it anymore, right? Right?... By the way, I am by no means a Meta fanboy. Moreover, I was REALLY looking forward towards PSVR2 release and thought that after a decent hardware there will be a constant flow of decent software sponsored by Sony to promote the PSVR2 and move the industry to the new heights. But it never happend. There are rumors that in September (I think) they will announce PS5 Pro or whatever + a bunch of new games, so if they won't show at least one of those two PSVR2 games that are still in development (by their own words by the way!) and if this game won't be an AA(A) VR game based on GoW/TLoU/GoT or really any other Sony's IP like Killzone or Resistance, PSVR2 won't be just dead, it will be resurrected and killed again by them. Just wait and see for yourself.

The two units are pretty much comparing PC gaming to console gaming. Decision really depends on your budget and the type of games you like. Even with the steep discount you're still looking at $900 for the entire setup, compared to half the price for the Quest 3. While PSVR2 has a lot of high quality games, the Quest has a pretty big library with lots of apps on top of that.

Seriously, can't we just enjoy VR without plummeting into conspiracy theories and fanboysm? Is it really that hard to accept that each product has its pros and cons and that it just turns out that most people simply think the better option is the one that doesn't require being tied with a cable to a games console they may neither have nor want? Graphics is hardly the only metric at play here, and even that is debatable when we start comparing Pancake vs Fresnel. Nintendo hasn't had to kill anyone to have their console with poorer graphics be a running success.

I was already a ps5 owner when I found out about psvr2 and since it was plug n play and not 1000$ just for the headset, it was the right choice for me. I do have a PC just by chance and I snagged Half Life Alyx on a big discount and am patiently awaiting the adapter to launch now :) I intend to explore some uevr stuff as well

I got psvr2 after the pc adapter was announced, i was waiting for it because i want to play both half life alyx and resident evil games...i don't want more than 1 vr headset it's waste of money. psvr2 is the best vr headset to buy right now(i got it on days of play 450$ great deal) . i was blown away by the quailty and immersion of psvr2, fan boys and meta paid markting news want it to fail...i can't wait to play PC VR mods like half life and left 4 dead games! after 20 years of gaming psvr2 made me exited about video games again. alan wake 2 was the last good non vr game i really liked.

I must say,the Quest 3 is pretty impressive for a standalone headset.if Meta can successfully bring PCVR streaming to Quest 3,which apparently they are working on,it will be a complete game changer With that being said,I don’t do the fanboy sh*t.I love VR gaming and I want see to VR winning on all fronts.I’m excited to see great games coming to all platforms.anything that brings more people into the VR world is a plus to me.I also love seeing cross platform games coming to all platforms.I don’t even own PSVR2 but I think it’s dope that Ghost of Tabor is coming to PSVR2.the more people playing the better.my first headset was PSVR1 and I probably put as much time into Firewall Zero Hour as I did Skyrim(Skyrim on XBox 360,PS4,PSVR1 and PC).I was always more of a RPG and Action Adventure gamer,didn’t even get into flatscreen multiplayer FPS.VR multiplayer FPS are next level,the immersion is insane.I’m excited for anything that helps move VR forward.PSVR and PSVR2 have done a lot for VR and as much as I hate Meta as a company,they sold 20 million Quest 2s.which is more than every other VR headset combined.regardless if you like Meta as a company or the Quest headsets or not,what they have done for VR gaming is huge.they have done a lot to keep VR gaming moving forward and deserve respect for that,if nothing else at all

As a gamer I prefer immersive and impressive graphics , mixed reality and social apps are just a gimmick for non gamers or casual vr players, not enthusiasts who enjoy immersive vr experience. psvr2 is the only platform that can truly deliver immersive vr experiences

Im sorry man “on playstation you have to pay for good games” no shit I gladly pay if it’s a great game. And don’t forget that Playstation offers ps plus premium/extra which roughly offers the same amount of games as Gamepass but also includes some of those high quality first party games that you claim you have to pay allot for. Meanwhile on Xbox only the new Doom game intriges me and thats it. Psvr2 is not dying out, we will continue to receive Resident Evil games, third party releases, 2 and more in the future first party games. And all of these will play best on Psvr2 compared to the mobile processors in the Quest headsets.

I have both a QPro and Q3. I mainly use my QPro/rtx4090 with a Link cable for flight/racing sims and my Q3 with everything else (standalone VR/MR, and wireless pcvr with Air Link or Virtual Desktop). If the PSVR2 PCVR version coming out next month looks good, I'll def consider buying one.

Quest 3 doesn't want PSVR2 "gone". The best you can properly say is that some people are arguing that the Quest 3 is a better choice. They may or may not have good reasons, but it is just an opinion at the end of the day. Meta is pumping money into VR because it sees great advantage to being an early adopter in a rapidly growing market. Meta doesn't view Sony as a competitor in VR because Sony isn't trying to compete. Sony gave up within a few months of the PSVR2 launch and all we are seeing now is the long tail of decisions and investments that were made before the launch. You can argue until you are blue in the face that PSVR2 is better because it uses better panels or has a rumble in the headset, but it is all meaningless. PSVR2 panels are better than Quest 3 panels, but PSVR2 lenses are worse. PSVR2 uses the superior processing power of the PS5, but Quest 3 lets you be wireless. Which was better, VHS or Betamax? In order to prime the market Meta gave devs millions of dollars to release on Quest either exclusively or just first. Sony makes it expensive to develop games for PSVR2 while Meta makes it cheap to develop games for the Quest 2 & 3. Indie devs are quickly coming to the conclusion that they can't make much profit on the PSVR2. Ghosts of Tabor is coming soon to the PSVR2 but only after Quest and PC. The devs have publicly stated their goal is to make enough money to cover the cost of the port and they don't expect to do a lot better than that. Unless Sony management decides to actively and strongly support the PSVR2 ecosystem it won't go anywhere. Sure, the PSVR2 will continue to work but devs will release games for it only after they release on other platforms and many devs won't ever bother to create PSVR2 versions in the future because the PSVR2 market is just too small. The PSVR2 will continue to have a place in the VR market. For a few people it will be great. For most people it won't be considered when they make plans to buy a new headset. If Sony had spent money to port the more popular PSVR1 titles to PSVR2, had spent money on marketing the PSVR2 during the 12 months post-launch, and had regularly communicated their plans for growing the PSVR2 with consumers after launch then things would be quite different today. The sad state of the PSVR2 today it is 95% the fault of Sony and only 5% the fault of internet pundits. Even the release of the PC adapter won't result in the sale of many more PSVR2s because all it does is turn the headset into the equivalent of a Vive Pro.

I disagree. I am a "Hardcore" player because I am good at playing. To see beautiful graphics I watch a Marvel movie. The gameplay with Quest 3 without cable is much better than on PSVR 2. I have checked it and I am much more efficient playing without cable. The most important thing is the gameplay, not the graphics. That's why Nintemdo continues to sell well. because their games have very good playability. Competitive players like to win. Playing wirelessly with Quest 3 makes me win more games than if I play the same game on PSVR 2 with cable. End of story.

All sony need to do is this: make the psvr2 wireless. Finger tracking, partner or allow yaw 2/ yaw 3 to conect with ps5 console/ headset for racing games like gt5 and roller coaster games. Have rockstar to add grand theft on psvr2. Grand theft, call of duty, need for speed, God of war. The Playstation portal, playstation room with astro. A vr space for real entertainment, cinemas, and theater rooms. So people can use the headset to watch movies when tired of playing games. Multiplayer vr games. The vr can also mix with A/r. With all those cameras on the front. Upgrade them. Sony can do it. They need to focus on what people want if they want to make money. Too much dam restriction.
I have both PSVR2 and Quest 3. They are both great but overall Quest 3 is a better buy. Biggest issue I have with PSVR2 is lack of games. There are a few great games but I expected more from Sony at this point. Quest 3 has some solid standalone games like Asgaurd’s Wrath 2 but I mostly use it to play PC games. Visual quality is great on both. Pancake lenses on quest are better but OLED screens on PSVR 2 are superior. Quest 3 price is also better. Ultimately I think price is the primary reason Quest 3 sells more.

1.Quest has more overall customers from Quest 2-Gen 2. It was Hybrid - mobile and PCVR (which Sony now catches up finally) 3. Meta has never been known as a gaming company before. So everybody expected Sony to release big and massive in VR - which did not happen on that scale at least. 4. PS5 + VR is much more expensive since the inflation. It is also a matter of money. 5. The fresnell lenses are not a customerfriendly choice. Many people have to mod their headset to keep the sweetspot stable or simply have trouble finding it. 6. A lot of the games available lacked support for the very important eyetracking foveation rendering. So many third party games looked slightly better then their Quest counterparts...but did not really feel next gen. 7. There is also a problem with missing marketing...and streaming is problematic. VR1 on Ps4 had Chattext during gameplay - missing in VR2. The AI-Voice is a horrible replacement for interacting with your viewers (who had this idea in the first place, it is totally weird). Worked on VR1, still works on PS5 FLAT-Mode...but VR-Gamers get this joke of a communication tool that falls appart if you have more than 2 spectators talking in the chat. Still not fixed. 8. Astrobot-Gate is another of those messages, that Sony just does not move their tiny finger for their own plattform. It is sad they have so little confindence, because the good games outrank Quest-Titles so hard.
The quest is easy to. Pick up and has easy mobile type games, for the average home owner that’s not a hard core gamer the quest 3 is a no brainier. I have got a psvr2 but thinking to get a quest 3 for even more vr in my life, with the mixed reality games it would look good along side my amazing psvr2. Quest 3 is getting people into vr and well done for that big time.

I don't think quest 3 is selling like hotcakes either, it's always in stock . It's just down to price and quest 2 hit at the perfect time for COVID. A lot tried vr and gave up on it giving their quest 2 to their kids or just leave them in attics. Unfortunately people just don't want to strap a device to their face so vr won't get big until it's slimmed down to normal glasses.
The whole in/out stock is a marketing trick , of course there always in stock when everyone is buying them online & 5yrs you'll have the newest one on your face too 😂

Reason why quest sells more cause 1 it's a stand alone system no wires cheaper to get into no buying a console and a headset 2 it's backwards compatible n most games update to quest 3. 3 mixed reality it's refreshing to play games were can see Ur surroundings 4 built in surround sound speakers 5 pancake lenses 6 bigscreen if don't know about it it's essentially a cinema experience 7 it has Xbox cloud app so can play Xbox gamepass games 8 plane mode use the headset on a plane is so nice U can jus watch movies with IMAX screen what psvr2 has is 1 better graphics great visuals more sharper quality 2 controllers with sense controllers make better immersive experience 3 longer playtimes cause it's wired to playstation 4 eye tracking is neat feature 5 easier to cast to TV for friends to see that's really it Im a hardcore gamer i prefer better experience gameplay over graphics quest 3 features out weight psvr2 in my head way much the freedom u get n the safer I feel makes quest 3 a no brainer

I really wish I had with the NMS update. I may try it on PCVR and see how it is, but my main saves and most of my playtime is PS... I definitely wouldn't sell mine.

I don't even need to watch this video to declare that this is just nonsense. Sony is the one and only "killer" of PSVR2. Yeah, maybe for 1/10 Meta helped it, but it's nothing comapred to what Sony did themselves. 1. They literally abandoned the platform. I love how Sony fanboys (Jesus, there are still some left after EVERYTHING they've did recently?) talk again and again about the same games - GT7, RE4 and RE8 VR modes, Horizon CotM, Synapse and some multiplatform as if it's everything they will ever need in life. So, my dear oblivious people, please answer a very simple question - after all those "State of Play"s and especially this whole "June-month-of-gaming" thing, what is the next big VR game from Sony's studios? Maybe The Last of Us VR? Ghost of Tsushima VR? God of War VR? Oh, maybe it's the continuation of Astrobot VR game from the PSVR1? Wait a second, the second game won't be for VR and won't have a VR mode for some reason... STRANGE, ISN'T IT? Don't even mention multiplatform like Alien game, Behemoth, Metro and so on - Quest owners will be able to play it too, and even more (hello from exclusive Batman Arkham game!). How exactly Sony moves the VR industry nowadays? By closing the studio that created Blood and Truth or by firing a lot of people from Horizon CotM studio? Exactly. 2. If you didn't know that Jim Ryan, the previous head on Sony Interactive Enterntainment, was VERY skeptical about VR (and even a couple a weeks before just before PSVR2 announcement he made himself he litarally gave an interview about how VR is not a thing just yet and that they will stop supporting it for the time being but will continue to "research the possibilities" of the technology), then you are very far from the gaming industry and VR in particular. I won't be surprised if he literally cancelled some VR games himself just because he didn't like VR itself. Unfortunately, new head of SIE is either the same or even worse in that regard (at least in other regards he is definitely worse, much worse...), so situation won't change in the future. 3. Sony announced PCVR support through adapter. There is no way that they just want to sell the leftovers to some madmen who want a headset that won't support it's main features like eye-tracking, haptic feedback, HDR and so on on PC because they don't plan to support it anymore, right? Right?... By the way, I am by no means a Meta fanboy. Moreover, I was REALLY looking forward towards PSVR2 release and thought that after a decent hardware there will be a constant flow of decent software sponsored by Sony to promote the PSVR2 and move the industry to the new heights. But it never happend. There are rumors that in September (I think) they will announce PS5 Pro or whatever + a bunch of new games, so if they won't show at least one of those two PSVR2 games that are still in development (by their own words by the way!) and if this game won't be an AA(A) VR game based on GoW/TLoU/GoT or really any other Sony's IP like Killzone or Resistance, PSVR2 won't be just dead, it will be resurrected and killed again by them. The two units are pretty much comparing PC gaming to console gaming. Decision really depends on your budget and the type of games you like. Even with the steep discount you're still looking at $900 for the entire setup, compared to half the price for the Quest 3. While PSVR2 has a lot of high quality games, the Quest has a pretty big library with lots of apps on top of that.
I've been gaming for over 40 years and am talking about graphics quality of games, not how many bad games there is in quest library I wouldn't even play 80 percent of the quest games even if they were free put no away each month till you have the money to buy the best
Seriously, can't we just enjoy VR without plummeting into conspiracy theories and fanboysm? Is it really that hard to accept that each product has its pros and cons and that it just turns out that most people simply think the better option is the one that doesn't require being tied with a cable to a games console they may neither have nor want? Graphics is hardly the only metric at play here, and even that is debatable when we start comparing Pancake vs Fresnel. Nintendo hasn't had to kill anyone to have their console with poorer graphics be a running success.

I was already a ps5 owner when I found out about psvr2 and since it was plug n play and not 1000$ just for the headset, it was the right choice for me. I do have a PC just by chance and I snagged Half Life Alyx on a big discount and am patiently awaiting the adapter to launch now :) I intend to explore some uevr stuff as well

I got psvr2 after the pc adapter was announced, i was waiting for it because i want to play both half life alyx and resident evil games...i don't want more than 1 vr headset it's waste of money. psvr2 is the best vr headset to buy right now(i got it on days of play 450$ great deal) . i was blown away by the quailty and immersion of psvr2, fan boys and meta paid markting news want it to fail...i can't wait to play PC VR mods like half life and left 4 dead games! after 20 years of gaming psvr2 made me exited about video games again. alan wake 2 was the last good non vr game i really liked.

I don’t think anyone is denying PSVR2 looks better,it works in conjunction with PS5…if one already has a PS5,PSVR2 should be the obvious choice..the Quest 3 is a standalone VR headset,one would be delusional to expect the Quest 3 to be an all around better VR headset. As a gamer I prefer immersive and impressive graphics , mixed reality and social apps are just a gimmick for non gamers or casual vr players, not enthusiasts who enjoy immersive vr experience. psvr2 is the only platform that can truly deliver immersive vr experiences

Im sorry man “on playstation you have to pay for good games” no shit I gladly pay if it’s a great game. And don’t forget that Playstation offers ps plus premium/extra which roughly offers the same amount of games as Gamepass but also includes some of those high quality first party games that you claim you have to pay allot for. Meanwhile on Xbox only the new Doom game intriges me and thats it. Psvr2 is not dying out, we will continue to receive Resident Evil games, third party releases, 2 and more in the future first party games. And all of these will play best on Psvr2 compared to the mobile processors in the Quest headsets.

I have both a QPro and Q3. I mainly use my QPro/rtx4090 with a Link cable for flight/racing sims and my Q3 with everything else (standalone VR/MR, and wireless pcvr with Air Link or Virtual Desktop). If the PSVR2 PCVR version coming out next month looks good, I'll def consider buying one.

Quest 3 doesn't want PSVR2 "gone". The best you can properly say is that some people are arguing that the Quest 3 is a better choice. They may or may not have good reasons, but it is just an opinion at the end of the day.
