That guy is legit. I served with him on Seal Team 5. We worked with our demo dolphin Flipper to search for mines. We would swim along Aircraft carriers in the Gulf of Black Sea. He's now the Commander LT General of all SEALS. They later made a movie with our Demo Dolphin Flipper.

One time I took my daughter to ride a carousel at the mall. The man operating the carousel was about 90 years old and wearing a navy veteran hat. I asked him about whether he was in the service. He began to tell me that he worked on a cruise ship turned into a Navy hospital ship and I thought, uh huh, here we go. His job was to drive landing craft and pick up wounded soldiers on the beaches and places like Okinawa. He told me about the only top secret mission he was ever on. I, a young punk thought, yea right. His job was to drive towards Okinawa in his landing craft as fast as he could and draw fire from the Japanese. When they got nearly to the beach they had to turn around and head back out to sea. When he and the other men did this, a fleet of Japanese battleships headed in their direction. Little did they know they were going after a little hospital ship. Also, little did they know it was a trap, and we had a fleet of battleships waiting to attack the Japanese when their attention was directed to the hospital ship. at this point I’m like yea likely story. well, it was a true story. The U.S.S Pinckney was the hospital ship. I began to think, how sad that I have to sit back and question the authenticity of our nations heroes because of liars.

Technically Admirals (stars) are "senior officers", too; but in the Navy we refer to THEM as "Flags". In the olden days they were referred to as "Officers of the Line".

I worked with an older guy in Target where he had a part time job since he wanted a job to get out of the house. He was a former SEAL, served in Vietnam. Never once spoke about being a SEAl, never told over the top stories and only ever said he had been in the Navy if asked. When it came out that he had indeed been a SEAL we were all shocked. He was a cool guy, he has passed away since then sadly. I’ve met a few green berets and they also never mentioned it. Always the fakes who want everyone to know.

November is the worst month for these idiots to come out of their hideaway holes and put on their fruit salad ribbons for the free buffet. I dont even have my usmc dress blues anymore. Or anything except my pt sweats. And dog tags, but dont wear them. They're annoying to wear. It seems like the more the pins they have on their baseball caps and shirts or biker vests, the worst they are at stolen valor.

We were trained as a joke and treated as a joke. Never saw active service but could fight mighty battles and be home in time for dinner. I'm not feeling quite so bad after seeing some of these videos, I feel a bit sad for the obviously mentally ill but the rest need calling out. Well done. That guy saying he specializes in sound reminds me of a customer I used to have. He kept bringing his vehicle back for us to fix small noises. And no matter what he thinks he will always say yes you fix the noise that I heard before but I hear another noise. At one point it got really ridiculous , when that happens I usually talk to the customer. So I took him on a test ride and got to talking to him. He worked on submarines looking for sound, because apparently they need to be silent. Can't say for sure that's what he did but I can say for sure he was a real officer or whatever. His work number was on a military base. Edit: by the way, what I explained at the end of the ride was this isn't a submarine, it's Chrysler town and country.

@@jepcartusch1084 I think these people's lives are so shitty they need to lie to feel better about themselves and to get something out of it (life), it's just pathetic. Regarding your point, I think there's a huge difference in courage and overall strength between a soldier and a garbage man, let's not kid ourselves. The willingness to kill and to die for your country and for the freedom that many take for granted is far from being a common valor. These frauds are just arrogant, ignorant, opportunistic, lazy and they stand for nothing else than themselves, there is no value in that. Last thing, if soldiers weren't so respected, they would find another respectable person to impersonate. The issue is not society's respect for soldiers, it's society's tolerance for idiots.

@@Theo-ot3ee What I meant when I wrote (that soldiers at the end of the day are no better or worse than a medic or garbage collectors) is that I believe that everyone counts and nobody should be treated preferentially. Obviously a Soldier faces much bigger hurdles than a Medic or Garbage man. But should I feel more sorry for a Soldier than "for example" for a homeless person? Isn't it that every soldier is aware of what he is getting into? If not then I think this soldier is anything but not fit for the service. The thing is that each of us decides on a path that he or she wants to go in life. If I like to beat up then that's my business and I shouldn't expect that one should decorate me with laurels because of it. But probably not everybody see it the way I do, and that is exactly the good thing. The term would probably be "acoustics expert" which would require a fair amount of engineering and physics, so "engineer" would most likely be the most correct technical term. That or the aforementioned "acoustics expert". Rockets also do not operate on sound. They utilize wave technology, but not soundwaves, they primarily utilize electromagnetic waves and effects, as well as computer communication. Also a fair bit of classical mechanics and chemical combustion for propulsion. Also, this guy does not know basic geography, a missile fired from North Korea does not need to pass over Hawaii to Alaska. Love it when the camera person plays along and lets the fake just dig themselves into a hole.

When I was in my division officer was hard core, he started out as an E1 went all the way to master chief then went LDO, became an ensign and then made it to LT. Commander before he retired .

The old man in the beginning (who started out covered) is wearing Lieutenant, J.G. (O-2), and looks like two rows of ribbons. He says he was a young Ensign (O-1) in 1969, and implies hes now a "senior officer." You would think he'd go up in rank designing sonar rockets, especially after 51 years of service.
