Sticky Ganzo? and How to fix it.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Is your Ganzo knife being a little too clingy? Or just plain stubborn and refuses to move? I have 6 Ganzo knives and all of them needed adjustments. 2 just flips me a birdie and tells me, "this blade is just not going to move out of the handle." Maybe is just my poor luck because a lot of Ganzo users don't have this problem but for me........6 out of 6?
I really do have a love hate relationship with Ganzo knives.
*************UPDATE**************
A viewer has brought to my attention that the stiffness maybe done on purpose. Makes perfect sense! Since in Canada, there are restrictions that blades cannot be opened with gravity (This will make them prohibited and not allowed to import into the country). Better to receive the blade a little stiffer rather than not being able to enjoy them at all. Plus, its a easy fix with little adjustment to the pivot screws. Thanks for bringing that up!

I just leave my axis lock knives half open (in a safe location) for a few hours when i first get them. Loosens them right up. Great video though regardless 👍

Wrap the spring around a finger size wooden dowel to help retain the shape and to avoid kinking it.

Great video. Thanks for this. My F7631-CF came with super smooth/loose action, but a super stiff g-lock. After watching your video I was able to adjust the lock (omega spring) so that I can close the knife a little easier with only my thumb, and then tightened the pivot screws a little tighter so that I can't "fling" it open without engaging the thumb stud or g-lock so that it can't open in my pocket. My springs are still just a little tighter than I'd like, but I think they might loosen up over time and I figure it's safer with the blade locked firmly.

Thanks for the tutorial. I love ganzo knifes and hopefully in a few days receive my first axis lock. I heard somewhere that opening the blade about half way and leaving it overnight or for a day like that also softens the lock. Have you tried that? It makes sense to me in theory, no idea if it works

Just a note, lowering the spring tension raises the risk of the lock disengaging. I find that if you remove the tooling chatter on the liners that the axis pin rides on the lock moves much smoother. Polishing the blade at the pivot, polishing the grooves the locks bar rides in is a much better way to get a smoother operation. also much safer way as well. The reason these knives are so cheap is because a lot of this finishing work is neglected that is most of the reason for poor operation.

It's all downward pressure the spring tension shouldn't have much effect. When is your knife going to have any real force on the spine anyway?

Thanks, and LOL, bro that is not a solid piece of carbon fiber. Maybe a tiny thin sheet of it on top of some plastic or G10 at best. You can tell by how it is a different color except for the top sheet.
