They can be trained etc but they're still considered exotic wild animals so lol good luck. Plz so not try to own one if u don't have the resources for it. They'd need lots of running room and hunting area etc

My neighbor just killed a cougar and is going to make sausage. I hope I get a taste. Humans are the most numerous cuddly little death machines. Edit: So many losers, that have commented, have no clue - probably ignorant vegans. I was just expanding on the humor, but many have no sense of humor. So, I will spell it out for the morons: Cougars and humans kill for food, though some animals can kill for the fun of it, but nothing like what asshole humans do, just for the fun of it. Then there are governments that, mostly out of corruption, greed or hatred, send troops to kill/murder millions of innocent people. So like I said, humans are the most numerous cuddly little death machines.

@@ellarosia100 caracals instinct are very strong, they hunt like domestic cats do. by stealthy then ambush the prey and catching birds mid air, no matter how long a caracal be in captivity it will never lose this instinct

They mentioned that it would be a 'soft' release; this means that although human contact will be reduced and eventually cut off altogether, Stewie and his brother will still be given a safe shelter they can return to and supplemental feedings until they get the hang of hunting on their own. Soft releases are very common for rescue-rehab orphans, from squirrels to big cats, and flying foxes.

its seems like this particular one may be mentally stunted or disabled. I dont think it would be a good idea to release this animal. while his actions are adorable for us, im concerned how he would fair for himself. Im glad its only a "soft release" because I could easily see him approaching the wrong human accidentally in the wild and getting killed because of it.

@@isaacbenson1631 they aren't that dangerous to humans at all they hunt birds mostly the issue with keeping them as pets isn't that they will hurt you it's that they will destroy the house they are curious wild cats like obviously it's a big cat so it's gonna use your couch as a scratching post so that's why people who get them as pets get rid of them

It was my 1st time meeting sweet Srewie and his brother. They were so nice and pleasant and interactive. Glad you like the video and see the lighter side of a wild real caracal. I really enjoyed the encounter as well.

He's beautiful. He's acting like a BIG housecat. I had a cat that must have been weaned too early. He used to suck on my ear lobes and knead my neck/shoulders. He was a big sweetheart too.

One of my cats did the same thing. His name was Tom. He would at times meow and paw at the door of my bedroom until I let him in. He then would lay on and knead me all over the place. He was sweet.

you do realize all cats knead, right? they are known for their surprise massages, which is both relaxing, and painful because they like to use the claw sometimes lol. they also like to cuddle the person they actually love, you are not a big scary predator for them, but the sweet person who cuddles, and they feel warm, safe, and loved in your arms. they try not too obvious about their affection because they have pride/prestige, but come home sad one day and they will do all they can to cheer you up, you better not mention it to them later tho, prestige and pride and all :P

But is considered a pest to many farmers and ranchers. It's too small and afraid to be a threat to humans or even a child. It will most likely run and hide.

@@bahasaeksakta9788 Captive cross breeding has occurred with caracals. They can breed with other similar cats and produce young, but I don't remember if they were 'viable', meaning their young can reproduce as well. I forget which species of cat they were crossed with.

My pleasure! I really like caracals. Perfect size, nice temperament if raised right, can be rewilded easy, and like lil cougars. I may rescue some in the future because I like them so much and prevalent in South Africa. Maybe setup a rehab/rewilding mini project aside from my cheetah one.

Well it was explained that cats can typically show a “kitten like” behavior (such as suckling or kneading) when they have been weaned too early from their mother, they usually do it when you remind them of their mother

ONYXILE I was wondering about this bc I have two rescues a almost 5 month old kitten and a 8 month old puppy and the kitten keeps trying to nurse off of the puppy and I thought it was bc she was in heat at first but when i found him a couple of months ago he was starving and super bony but he’s been eating regular food and formula sometimes but still will try to suckle while I’m rubbing her stomach or if she’s just chilling on her back and she gets confused bc she’s never had puppies and this is her first heat

🐱 Very sweet, I hope you and Stewie, and the other caracal can stay friends! I trained my cats with a sports whistle. the sound carries a long way and they come to me.

The best purr video I've got is Faith relaxing on top of me. She lays on everybody, not just me. Ok, it's kinda abnormal but it's what she likes and I tend to let them do as they will to be friends with them. I believe a large chunk of that is because Stewie is male. Female cats are usually standoffish, at least from what I've seen.

My female house cat, while entirely domesticated is nowhere near as snuggly & friendly as this male caracal @Easter Bells

Stunningly beautiful cats. Caracals look like a miniature Cougar (minus the long tufts on the ears), and YET ANOTHER example of cats being among the most beautiful, graceful creatures on the planet.

This was so adorable and I hope Stuie has a successful release

They used to be called the Desert Lynx, and also sometimes used to be known as Caracal Lynxes. Nowadays they're not regarded as a true Lynx.

Yes... One project manager told me that the males get aggressive when mature, but these were already adults and friendly. They got meaner later but I did not witness it. I doubt it personally. Maybe a circumstance made them aggressive but really doubt it. Predators who learn to love you will remain that way unless something really bad happens. Tigers may be an exception as they can hold grudges from perceived wrongs. I could be wrong and will find out later in my life as I rescue more cats and rehab and release.

all cats love to cuddle, and they can identify a person who gives good cuddles, that's why they love you.

Stewie and his brother scratch are very similar and nice. They hiss between themselves only.

It is so heartbreaking to see adult animals suckling like infants! it shows they were not weened but taken from their Mother. very sad! but Stewie is not releasable into the wild, just look at how he reacts to you, a human he has never seen you before! I hope that they keep him safe! What a gorgeous cat!!! thanks for the video!!! awesome work!!

@@CheetahWhisperer I would venture a guess that their instincts would allow themn to survive in the wild anyway. We adopted a cat from a refuge last year. Kept indoor, and when he goes outdoor, he's on a leash. He's 1 y.o. Gets fed all the time. This AM, I opened the door, and he ran away from me and caught a bird, with his harness and leash in tow. No one ever taught him this. He saw a bird and instinct kicked in.

@@hugolafhugolaf my cat before I rescued her lived outside for a year, through the winter, before I finally managed to get her to come to me so I could give her a home. She's surprisingly lazy and unathletic, but when she sees a bird or rodent, a switch gets flipped, and she turns into a killing machine. She's killed 4 squirrels and 3 birds from just being outside on the deck, and almost 10 mice that get inside from the woods.

This is like a reverse adoption.

You just seem to have a way with big beautiful cats, it’s wonderful to see your great videos. Keep up the great work 👍

@@Militia_Dei777 yea Ik they’re massive but the thing is most guard dogs are in the 40kg - 50kg range, and the even more muscular ones are heavier than the average woman who weighs in at 50kgish. So I think a big guard dog or any kind of guard dog who outweighs this cat could kill it if it managed to bite it. If the cat gets on top of its back it’s game over. Have you seen the caracals teeth and claws? It’s a fucking monster.

@@AGreenApple_ Yes dogs obviously chase cats and in some cases killed them as well. You probably never owned cats from the sound of things. If you did you probably know that dogs have been known to have lost an eye or two because they chased a cat into a corner.

Imagine explaining that hickey to your girl 😓 “baby it was a cat nursing on me I swear” I’d be a dead man, single so fast 😵

What a wonderful sweet cat. Just beautiful with those big ears. I love everything from an alley cat to the king of the jungle.

Many say that. It must be a trend. I've not known many house cats in my life as a dog person. But pleasantly surprised how tamed wild cats can be so nice and friendly. Granted some house cats and wild ones are dangerous too if they don't know or like you. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Seems that way. Read many comments mentioning the pet caracals are worse off. I honestly think it is because of the owners and how they were raised. Never encountered a hissy fussy caracal raised the right way in South Africa. All really friendly like this one and his brother. I didn't know this animal at all. Fed a few times and thats it.
