Steve and Roy aren’t questioning Sir Alex’s record. They are questioning his communication with his players. Indirect communication is toxic and only causes unnecessary pain. Sir Alex wasn’t perfect and this is obviously one of the ways he could have improved. He did the same with all the big players when they left whether it was Beckham, Stam, Ince, Cole or Nistelrooy.

Keane made a fair point. He may be bitter. Nothing to do with success. How players were treated was the issue.

9:04 Rubbish. Keane didnt betray any confidences , he simply pointed out information that was in the public domain. Ferguson was a football manager , his obligation was to his employers and to get the best results possible. Clearly that meant releasing senior players at some point but there are classy ways to do that and not so classy ; he was in the latter category.

Ten hag did nothing wrong. Reporter asked him why he subbed Garnacho to which he replied we were struggling down his side which we were. No big deal. Ten Hag has been great to Garnacho this season, he’s given him every opportunity that other managers would not have done so. Sad that a players first thought these days when things don’t go their way is to get on their social media.

They might have been tough decisions, but the contempt that Ferguson showed to long-standing servants of Man Utd is a matter of public record.

It's not about pity or compassion. It's called respect. Ferguson considered Paul McGrath to be surplus to his requirements. He was suffering from alcoholism and personal demons. He offered McGrath £80k to retire. But he had to enter a contractual agreement declaring that he would not play professional football again. McGrath refused the deal and went on to play some of his best football at Aston Villa and at International level with the Republic of Ireland. Think USA 1994. Ireland vs Italy. What Ferguson declined to inform McGrath of was the fact that Liverpool had contacted Man Utd expressing an interest in signing him. Ferguson lied, telling Anfield that McGrath was not for sale. All the while Ferguson was attempting to have McGrath end his career. Villa manager Ron Atkinson put an arm around McGrath. He even moved into Atkinson's home! Which reaped dividends for Villa. Jack Chalton's Ireland can be eternally grateful for this reversal of footballing fortune. What's any of that got to do with pity and compassion? Ending a man's footballing career just to stop your fierce rivals benefiting from such a transfer? Ferguson was often guilty of dick behaviour. Not every successful manager with a cabinet filled with trophies behaves in that fashion.

How is that any different from a player attempting to two-footed tackle an opponent to end his career? To deprive an athlete of life-enhancing years in the sport they love? There is no difference. There is such thing as competitiveness, determination and a refusal to surrender. All are healthy traits and very much part of a winner's mentality. But then there is also a line that when crossed renders someone as a scumbag who engages in such psychopathic activities. Ferguson placed a toe over that line on a number of occasions. Many ex-players speak of Ferguson's tactical genius and ability to select the right players and manage the dressing room. But over the years a good number of ex-Man Utd player have begun to echo Roy Keane's sentiments about the manner in which Ferguson discarded those who had displeased him or whom he felt were of no further use to him.

I truly believe there are managers out there who become a little jealous when a player shines too much. Pundits praising these managers as geniuses has caused them to become very egotistical. They can't stand when the success of a team isn't all about them.

Garnacho is raw and has a lot to learn and understand he isn’t the finished article. He does come across as confident but I think he needs someone to ground him. He’s only been played so much as neither Anthony or Rashford have pulled up any trees this season. The latter should be ashamed as he’s seen as a senior player …

Put history’s greatest managers in charge of United 18 months ago and they’d all need 5 years to sort things out under glazer ownership and the football structure. You’d have wanted every one of them out if 2 years is your judgment period.

There really is an agenda, how does the title not represent the conversation? Poor.

Garnacho is a good player in the making He behaves like he is Cantona. He is selfish and made lots of mistakes in that game. He has potential but not there yet. He should swallow his pride put his head down and keep working to improve Rashford was also bad if not worst and should be withdrawn as well.

As it stands now, if Chelsea win their game-in hand, they would leap frog over Man Utd in the table.

As a 41 year old Utd supporter Garnacho ain’t it for me, i just don’t think he fits the ethos of what being a man utd player is all about, The kid is corny as hell and appears to have an identity crisis wanting to be a bad parody of Christiano rather than being his own man and there’s no real senior leaders in that team to guide him in the way Ronaldo had Keane, Giggs, scholes, Neville etc.
