Something I too saw in the last 2 college games that I've seen against UCONN and South Carolina game. She loses focus. But yeah, she's just a rookie and she is probably going to continue do rookie things. CC has never acted like the pros would come easy. She’s never said she plays for girls who look like her or blamed criticism of her on race. She doesn’t pull hair and push and shove and brawl, or treat basketball games like a fashion show. She takes total ownership of her performance and doesn’t blame her team. Time and time again she shows up and plays hard and treats others with grace and humility. She cares about the community and being a role mode to all young girls. For all those reasons she is already a tremendous success. The 10 turnovers is a testament to the skill of the Connecticut Sun and Clark’s inexperience, but she had 3 or 4 steals herself and was the leading scorer for the Fever. Her supporters would have liked to see her score 30 and have half as many turnovers, but anyone who is realistic knows there will be an adjustment period between college and the pros, and this was a very solid first game.

No actually, most players could never dream of having that kind of freedom to go get 10 turnovers. There’s a LOT of learning experiences in basically getting to experiment that much to the point you have 10 TO’s. It takes your game to the next level. Most players are on such a short leash today that it actually stunts their growth ….Having a green light like that to fail without punishment from your coach is the best thing a hooper could ask for.

Don't get me wrong here because I think Caitlin is a great talent and will become a top level WNBA player but.... Yah, 20pts on 5/15, only 3 assists and zero rebounds with a 41% usage is a 'good game' in what world? It is an expected game from a rookie making their first start but that isn't a good stat line. 41% usage is just stupid for a rookie's first game, that needs to come way WAY down. No one in the NBA has anything close to that, not Labron, not Joker, not Curry... No one in the WNBA has close to that... Indiana cannot win with Caitlin having a 41% usage, as a rookie if they keep that up they won't even make the playoffs.

She have a big issue, well 2 that she will have to fix quick to be a success in the league. One, she is not a great ball handler, South Carolina proved that. her lack of great ball handling skills and time with the ball led to TO in college and will do the same in the league. Next, after a TO or bad play, she don't hustle back to defend, at all. She have to correct this quickly. IF you just look at this video highlights, you will see where there is a turnover, and she don't get back. She have to fix those two things quick. The most important thing is there is no time to rest from NCAA finals to league practice, there is very little time to adjust and learn to play on different level.

Black people try to find any argument or insult to put her down. White people are positive, whether big fans or objective basketball observers. I was just pointing out I constantly read about these college and pro players, always black, that are better players and athletes than Caitlin. So have to be an overall basketball just score. I see why the older wnba players don’t like the narrative. Cause y’all hyping her up because she is white. It’s so obvious i feel sad for her

Wasserman, who reps some of the biggest names in the WNBA, has started a "debunking" campaign. Among the points that they are making is that the league made $200 million last year and is expected to make over $300 million this year. They also point out that the NBA really wasn't profitable until the 90s, which coincided with the explosion in televised games. Before Covid, the league had reportedly brought in $90 million which meant that they were already growing. I privately heard that two teams made profits in 2018, one being the champion Seattle Storm. That was the year where the "most teams lose $10-$12 million" statement came from as the NBA tried to control the narrative before negotiating with the player's union. One item that the NBA hides is that it's estimated that a quarter of the NBA teams are also not profitable. Basically, a team in a large market can negotiate a much larger local TV contract than a small market team can and this impacts a team's bottom line. Many of you have heard this before but it's worth reinforcing that there is a growing interest in the WNBA.
