Oreo Cookie monster
Tim Legler pointed out something that went over everyone but Monica’s head. Clark isn’t physically gifted. She doesn’t have a physical advantage over any players. Which means she will have to work twice as hard to get off shots. She also didn’t have to face elite players on offense, and because she doesn’t have a physical advantage, she isn’t and may never be an elite defender. Even her passing is suspect, because the same type of passes she made at Iowa got stolen in these first 2 games. You all saw what South Carolina did to her. Well, Clark is basically facing South Carolina every game she plays in the WNBA.

There’s several other rookies out playing her now, but you hear NOTHING about them. If Clark is sooooo great, then why are a few other drafted players doing 3x better than she is???
Can we keep it real...She was nothing more than a shooter. She is making her money, but Caitlin will never duplicate what she did in college and, 2-3 years from now, she will be forgotten.
Stephen A needs to be in Rehab .. not ESPN.
Good point on the body language. Hopefully someone talks to her about it.
I’m actually feeling all the WNBA talk😊 keep it up bc I’m learning a lot about the league
This aint college anymore Stephen A.
So they basically said wait til they play some sorrier teams so she can shine 😂😂😂😂
Just like how ESPN backed up Darvin Ham by saying the Lakers should have never fired him. They're just saying that cuz Stephen A Smith knows better. Trust me, he's always trying to recruit players from other teams to go to the Knicks but he never wants the 86 his own owner. Sad to know
Fever ain't all that. Well, CC is supposed to make them all that lol.

This is why you don't crown a player before they play a game
Does ESPN talk about any other WNBA players or even WNBA rookies from the same class as Caitlin? You aren’t going to grow the sport if you only focus on one player. You don’t want people to stop tuning in if Caitlin is struggling. Cameron Brink had a really strong start. Where’s the stories about her? Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Major misconception: ESPN promotes athletes and tries to grow a particular sport. ESPN covers sports and the stories that will get the most viewers...That's it. Caitlin is massively more popular than any female basketball player in history. It is a cultural phenomena. She is the player the new fans want to know about. NFL, NBA, MLB, they bring in the money for ESPN. Reality: The WNBA will never be big outside of Caitlin. Straight women never have followed sports on a big scale. They never will. They watch Caitlin because they love her, and it is mostly young, white girls. She is the athletic Taylor Swift. Vast majority of men will never watch the WNBA for the level of play is way below the NBA.
Hopefully all this media exposure and expectations don’t turn her into a bust…I feel like she’s probably the most over hyped female basketball player of all time and she can feel it
Best take!
An attempt to create a female version of Lebron James has failed. There was a set of people who said she was better than some NBA players. When Taurasi warned about this you folks tagged her as a hateful and jealous person. Suddenly we started hearing "she will be fine". Was that not what Taurasi was warning about?
They are guarding her like she MJ. The are double teaming, face guarding, trapping, bumping. 😂 They act like they will get a raise for making her look bad.

Its TIME for ESPN to cover all the rookies equally. Catlin is a bust
I don't understand. Of course I have only seen these 2 WNBA games though. The Sun looked good, the Liberty looked good. However, the Fever look like a high school team (Jr high school?). Their offense is atrocious, and their defense is nonexistent. They don't even do the basics like boxing out.
CC college career FG 46%, FG3% 38, wnba 1st 2 games, 30% shooting, wnba much better defense.

after seeing what Raven Johnson was doing to her in the national championship game I was like yeah she gonna struggle at first in the WNBA because she way too loose with her dribble and doesn't handle physicality well. Playing against older, stronger, veteran players will be an adjustment.
Stop makin excuses Stephen a she’s supposed to be a GAME CHANGER stop it!

Facts
I remember A.I. rookie year his team wasn't that good but he was putting up numbers that's what Caitlin needs to do just jack up shots and go for your numbers.
CC is a shooter, but the difference is the speed of the WNBA to college, she can’t get the separation to shoot the shot as cleanly as college. None of these teams are going to give her the respect that she can take them off the dribble, CC will have to earn her respect.
@JohnDoe-zr8pc

This. She’s no longer going against teams where 1-2 players have any real chance of going pro. She’s now up against the best out there. There’s TONS of players in all sports, who were great in college, but struggled in the pros.
That’s why the people that said, “oh she can play with the men in the NBA” is utterly ridiculous. That being said, she’ll be just fine. It’s 2 games and she’ll get used to the pros soon. She’ll be fine. MVP will probably be a reach but the ROY is her trophy to lose.

These are the same people that said Rhonda rousey would beat Floyd mayweather in a boxing match 😂... They do the same ish across the sports world and entertainment! Its Yt skin hype and always the same outcome. They don't fire up the hype machine for black athletes, its expected...
I think Caitlin will be fine. But her team may not be. The Fever look like their seriously stink.
Stephen A was the one that hyped her up that she going to come in here and dominate and be all of this and now he keeps saying after two games she'll be just fine. But if this was an number pick NBA player, highly touted and struggle like this he would have killed them and took back his words.
I noticed Iowa set a lot of picks to break some shooters including CC free to shoot. The Fever players stand around watching the game instead of moving and getting open. They seem to be a lazy team and they don't get back to defense very fast. Some people have said Boston is lazy but she seems to be the only other player playing for the Fever. The Fever coach actually told CC to stop shooting 3pt shots and pass to other players more. Sounds to me like a plan to continue to lose. Michael Jordan's Bulls had six losing seasons after he join the Bulls before they had other players like Scotty Pippen to add another scorer to the Bulls.
Diana called it 😂
SAS trying to blame the team already is disgusting and hack analysis.

Haha. Love to see it.
A few months ago, people were saying she would struggle a little when she got to the WNBA, and others were calling that hating. But it's an honest and realistic truth. Expecting her the jump from college to the pros and just dominate from the beginning it's not realistic. It's just a shame she got hyped like that. But she's going through now is not cause for alarm. Give her time to develop.
