Tim Legler pointed out something that went over everyone but Monica’s head. Clark isn’t physically gifted. She doesn’t have a physical advantage over any players. Which means she will have to work twice as hard to get off shots. She also didn’t have to face elite players on offense, and because she doesn’t have a physical advantage, she isn’t and may never be an elite defender. Even her passing is suspect, because the same type of passes she made at Iowa got stolen in these first 2 games. You all saw what South Carolina did to her. Well, Clark is basically facing South Carolina every game she plays in the WNBA.

You really think that Caitlin had nothing to do with loss? Take a look at her stats and it may help to understand how she contributed to the loss. Don’t label her as ‘mamba’ because Kobe could create his own shot. At this level, the players are 100% better than college players. Iowa spoiled her by having every member on the team throw up screens for her all throughout the game, she needs to learn how to create space for herself. Also, she better hurry and cash that NIKE check QUICK. 🤣🤣🤣.

Major misconception: ESPN promotes athletes and tries to grow a particular sport. ESPN covers sports and the stories that will get the most viewers...That's it. Caitlin is massively more popular than any female basketball player in history. It is a cultural phenomena. She is the player the new fans want to know about. NFL, NBA, MLB, they bring in the money for ESPN. Reality: The WNBA will never be big outside of Caitlin. Straight women never have followed sports on a big scale. They never will. They watch Caitlin because they love her, and it is mostly young, white girls. She is the athletic Taylor Swift. Vast majority of men will never watch the WNBA for the level of play is way below the NBA.

Stephen A was the one that hyped her up that she going to come in here and dominate and be all of this and now he keeps saying after two games she'll be just fine. But if this was an number pick NBA player, highly touted and struggle like this he would have killed them and took back his words.

I noticed Iowa set a lot of picks to break some shooters including CC free to shoot. The Fever players stand around watching the game instead of moving and getting open. They seem to be a lazy team and they don't get back to defense very fast. Some people have said Boston is lazy but she seems to be the only other player playing for the Fever. The Fever coach actually told CC to stop shooting 3pt shots and pass to other players more. Sounds to me like a plan to continue to lose. Michael Jordan's Bulls had six losing seasons after he join the Bulls before they had other players like Scotty Pippen to add another scorer to the Bulls.

She had some quick feet and hustle last year. It's like someone tied an anchor to her this season. Coach sides says she is in the best shape - so no room for improvement. Maybe she broke both of her own ankles in the offseason.

A few months ago, people were saying she would struggle a little when she got to the WNBA, and others were calling that hating. But it's an honest and realistic truth. Expecting her the jump from college to the pros and just dominate from the beginning it's not realistic. It's just a shame she got hyped like that. But she's going through now is not cause for alarm. Give her time to develop.

The teams only had 2-3 weeks to practice for the season after the draft. So the rookies will have to learn the system on the fly.
