36 of her 40 games are going to be televised. The Fever have raised ticket prices. There's absolutely a ton of pressure on her. And she has a massive target on her because of the attention she received in college. ESPN and the WNBA need her to continue building on her success.

Clark is literally looked at as women's basketball's Larry Bird in terms of being able to save the league along with Angel Reese and the rest of the draft class. She's gotten more coverage/attention than any women's ball player ever and she's the first overall pick. Not to mention the pressure she'll have from opponents and the target they'll put on her from the first game on. Saying she doesn't have pressure is an unhinged and insane take. She has a ton of pressure.

  • @Rebound703

@@Rebound703 he literally was though. Him and Magic going to the nba brought insane hype that had never been seen to the nba market. They were both looked at to Dave the league because the league financially wasn’t doing great and they had issues with players getting into trouble for drugs. So Bird and Magic quite literally saved the nba. He also has that same parallel as Clark about the “great white hope” thing. But both went to smaller schools and made the national championship as well. Also for how long the wnba has been around to now, is about the same amount of years the NBA was around before Bird/Magic debuted. There are so many parallels it’s insane.

The one thing on top of everything she has done, the most impressive has been under how much pressure she has done it…at 21, 22….the one thing she will face, is harder opposition, more physicality, higher walls trying to block her shoots…but she also gets a great team…remember, there has been players like her…maradona, pele, Messi, LeBron, MJ…once in. A life time athletes…you saw everyone but CC, Martin, and Fair…CC was born and then trained to handle that kind of situations …she is just especial SA…just one in a life time..she is going to pass and assist like nothing you have seen, and when the other team get to distracted trying to guard her teammates, bam!!! From the LOGO…and when she get loose…bam, bam, bam…I just hope her coaches at Indiana allow her to play her game and prepare the rest of the team to dance to her rhythm…it will be a step by step process, first transition, then passes, then ball handling, then layouts, then assists, then all of the sudden, bam!!! From the LOGO..❤😂👏🏻…LETS GO!!!!

No one is talking about the pressure for the coach of the Indiana Fever. But if they play inside out with Boston and Clark they could be double trouble. Kind of like Amarie Stoudemire and Steve Nash when they played together.

She has pressure for sure, however playing with people who are as talented as she is and more I think will make her adjustment to the pros easier. At Iowa she had to do so much because outside of her those teams were average at best. I imagine she gets easier looks at the next level and she will be more efficient in her game.

The best thing about Caitlin Clark is her ability to play with anybody. That doesn't change in May. The only pressure she has is to play her game, which I don't think that's pressure. As a player, that's just fun. That young woman is at a whole different level. IDK why people think her game is just going to fall apart as soon as she walks on the court with pro women. Caitlin Clark is going to be just fine.

I think the reason she said no pressure is on her is because she has so many people, little darling, that can't do anything wrong , if she have a bad shooting year they going to say it was her first year in the wnba give her time to adjust to the lead .

She has more ''relative'' hype than LeCrybaby because the NBA was already elevated to a super high level in the culture (at that time with Kobe/Shaq/KG/Duncan/Iverson and off the back of Jordan/Magic/Bird/Dream Team). She has more ''relative'' pressure to perform right away, and she will because - like Magic - she has dual top tier talents and will be unstoppable. Keep in mind that about 1/4 of the WNBA now is players she beat in college.

I agree. She's just built different. She elevates both herself and her teammates. She makes her teammates strive to be better, if for no other reason but pure competition. That Fever team is going to be completely different from last year.

CC would have more pressure on her if she were a 'rookie sensation' and paid two/three times more than she will be making. I expect CC will have a good year but not her greatest...she's 22 and in the professional learning curve already...give her a few years to be the best.
