This prosecutor gave the absolute worst opening statement I've ever heard.. Listing names, talking too fast, run on sentences etc. Omg! Its like he's trying to put the jury to sleep...

Horrible opening statement. Anyone can read off of a piece of paper and a monotone mumble.

The prosecutor is boring AF.

The rapidfire, yet monotone, delivery of the State's Opening Statement is very hard to follow. No one could retain all that information rattled off so dispassionately. I didn't know anything about this case before I started watching this. I still don't.

I wish the prosecutor could stop coughing and sniffing !!!

First day and already inconsistent testimony. Lally states one thing about the snow and the responding officer states something else.

This prosecutor is about as interesting a public school teacher 😴

I honestly don't get why a lot of people are complaining about the sound. It's clearly the prosecutors monotone voice that's the issue 😂 and count your blessings we can even watch this. The way this shady judge was being, we're lucky this is being publicly broadcast.

This is the worst opening statement I’ve ever heard in my entire career. It is so incredibly horrible. He seems to be bored and like he could not care less about the decedent and actually getting justice for Mr. O’Keefe. He seems lazy and like someone who does the absolute bare minimum, no actually less than the bare minimum. This guy should be ashamed and embarrassed. The DA’s office should be ashamed (and hopefully disciplined harshly by the Feds) about every single thing, from start to finish, done in this case. They don’t care about justice for either Officer O’Keefe or justice for Karen Read. Shameful. Mr. Lally is a disgrace

court rooms are not wired for TV lol. This isn't a TV set nor sound stage. it's a courtroom that isn't designed for audio. Sounds engineers are not allowed to place any wiring anywhere either, for obvious reasons.

Because they know they don’t have a case and know it’s a cover up… Why put your best in if you know you’re going to lose? This is so they can point a finger at this nerd and blame him.

At least leave the camera on the person at the podium so we can watch their face like to try to hear awful audio and the camera guy turned camera on Karen away from her attorney opening statement for a long while We can see occasional pan the camera but since awful audio please leave the camera on whomever talking please?

Please send this guy to Opening Statement School to learn not to race through important information one is hearing for the first time! Also, the continual coughing is unbearable to listen to, Please do something about the audio, this is not acceptable in this day and age!

Very lackadaisical opening by the Prosecuter....no passion very ho- hum.

He’s probably setting the tone to say in closing something like, “Look, the defense has tried to tell you this elaborate, dramatic story. But I’ve simply given you the truth.” By being a bore, he can label the defense as thespians.

This feels like a guy who knows his case has holes.

I don’t believe he believes in his case. He has been ordered to prosecute Read and he is going to do it. The Defense was passionate, clear. The opening Defense statements were devastating to the prosecution. The Judge had ruled the Defense could not bring in third party defense in the opening statements, but they did it any way. A sharp prosecutor would have objected, but this guy just sat there.

This is what a fearful prosecutor who lnows his case is corruption based bs looks like while trying to keep his job with a connected DA

This guy is hard to understand. Practice your speaking voice. Loud and clear is required for the jury.

My heart goes out to the victim’s family. A mother not only lost her son, also her daughter to cancer. My daughter was a victim of homicide and the grief is unbearable

Mr Lally will loose this case. The story how the towmies hunkered down while the impnding snowstorm ( a dusting) was coming. The occupants of Albert's house and invited guests went out to get drunk. The occupants of the after party decided Mr OKeefe was persona non grada. Then in the home the crime was committed Karen is innocent. @@helenhoward5693 Those are real pieces of evidence that will come out in trial. The scratches are not consistent with being hit by a car and the video leaving the driveway gives a plausible explanation as to how her tail light was broken.
