Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

On the allotment this weekend we decided to reuse the paving slabs to make our path way on the plot and trying to figure out the layout of the allotment.

    New sub #62…From experience I have learned you need your slabs higher that the soil otherwise when it rains the soil washes on to the slabs

    Great idea - using the slabs for a pathway. It's coming along - slow but sure. You have some exciting plans.

    Put some slabs by your gate and water butt these areas get a lot of use and can get very muddy.

    Thanks. will make the path go to the gate. There is a leak next from the guttering was thinking of putting a water butt there too. Thanks

    Just thinking about what would bring smiles during the clearing of all that rubbish. One or two perennial flowers just tucked in by the water tank, sheltered. Something fragrant or bright and bold. Bricks do make a raised bed, if only 1 or 2 bricks high. Small steps make the best gardens.

    That's a good idea. We are doing a garden center trip soon and will probably get a few flowers to brighten the place up. There is a few bricks in the ground will take them up to see if I can make a bed. Thank

    Absolutely knocking it out of the park (a baseball term for a really good thing 😅😅). Your hard work all seems a bit much to you now but it will pay in huge dividends soon 👍. Keep up the great job but remember to enjoy it too. Happy Easter 🐣, Ali 🌞🇨🇦

    @@JacobsonFamilyAllotment if I can make one suggestion it’s get a bed in, even one and plant something, it makes all the difference in the world to your enthusiasm if you see something growing even dare I say it if you have to buy starter plants to do it

    Look's like the water butt doing its job well,those slabs will make good path ask the neighbouring plot holder if you can have his slabs, it will make a stronger base for your water butt. The thing is now you have a blank canvas , now the ideas will start flooding in Good luck and enjoy it, take care

    That water butt looks decent. I managed to get some wood chips from a tree surgeon, have you tried contacting a local one?

    How does an allotment work? Do you rent it yearly?

  • @JacobsonFamilyAllotment

    @JacobsonFamilyAllotment

    3 ай бұрын

    Yes so you put your name down with the local council and wait to a plot of lad is free. And you pay yearly to rent mine is costing just over £40 a year. You have to grow fruit and vegetables on it and can keep chickens also
