Hi you Two. Thank you so very much for your fab videos. Last year, after watching hour You Tube Channel I made up my mind to buy a greenhouse. My husband has Vascular Dementia and previously a really keen gardener. I thought it would help him but unfortunately he didn 't show much interest. However, I got involved, especially after watching your videos. I bought and eight foot by ten foot greenhouse, but it was not erected until June of last year which was a bit late. Sadly my husband was not too interested, I lost heart. However today, I have cleaned out the greenhouse and started watching your videos again. You give me such inspiration, you are clear with your advice and I just love to watch you. I thank you so much because after today - 23rd March, having cleaned and disinfected the greenhouse I am raring to go. I am going to order the tomato seeds you recommended from Camilla and look forward to more videos from you both. Thank you so much you are an inspiration! You give clear and sensible advice, please keep on with your advice and videos. All love from me here in North Wales - Cefn Meiriadog, near St. Asaph, Denbighshire - Anita xxxx

I try sew my peas around the ides of March. My grandmother insisted this is when peas should be sewn and they do really well when I'm able to get them in then. No starting under any kind of cover, directly in the ground or pots outside. This is the only piece of gardening advice I aim to follow every year. I'm running a little late this year, but they will be in the ground before the weekend. One year I accidentally planted Tom thumb peas, also a dwarf variety. Took me forever to figure out why my peas weren't growing tall. Lol Eventually I remembered I had purchased the Tom thumbs to plant in hanging baskets with flowers. Lol

We grow Sophie's Choice tomatoes for our early tomatoes. Determinate (app. 24"" is all), 8 oz fruits, they prefer the cooler weather. As an experiment, I grew one from seed in the house this winter. No grow lights, just a sunny window. They did take longer to produce, and the fruits were around 4 oz, but it actually worked. Fresh, homegrown, organic tomatoes in January during a Midwest (USA) winter was so, so nice. I recommend them if you want to try a new variety that will tolerate your cooler climate.

New to your channel. I am a life long gardener but have only had a greenhouse for around five years. I had a lengthy stay in various hospitals and when I got out the greenhouse that I and my father had done business with was out of business. I couldn’t find some of the old favorite varieties that I love so now start my own. Problem is I am out growing my greenhouse to the point that I run shelves between the other shelves and I open the door step in and that’s it, I have to reach and slide flats to take care of everything. Do you think I have a problem?

If seeds (in this case sunflowers) say they germinate in 10 to 21 days and 10 days later 80% have grown is there a chance the others will grow in the remaining time or not?

hmmm obviously I can only take a guess at what might be going on with your seedlings but the most common thing is either overwatering or lack of light. Over watering can cause so many issues including making the perfect environment for pathogen to kill little seedlings. If you can, have a look at the stems, does it look as if there are thinner parts? If so then this could be something called damping off, it's a fungus like pathogen that is the top reason why our seedlings fail. But over watering generally can cause issues for our seedlings.

Ah gotcha. Without adding heat you are going to have those swings, you have them in standard greenhouses too. If you can add some extra insulation that can help hold the daytime heat a little longer through the night. Things like bubble wrap layers work well.
