same here, over in Germany/ Europe. I loved to watch it, qs q kid, as a teen, (after school), as a young adult, to relax after work or a day at the University, and now. I am 76 years old and i still watch the reruns. Loved the series. Michael Landon with that infectious laugh.😅
Aside from parents raising their kids to old shows such as Little House (such as I have) babies today growing up in these very frightening, very angry, and very vulgar days will never know what good ol’ innocent and clean comedy was like on television. I introduced my kids (now 25 & 27) to Little House since they were just tiny tots among others such as The Andy Griffith show, I Dream of Jennie, The Brady Bunch, etc… and now they have the fondest memories of their childhood watching television with their dad and me. Those were such lovely days.
OMG, the moment I heard Melissa Gilbert's voice I felt like a little girl again. How wild! This show holds such a special place in my heart. I'm now in the Midwest raising my own little kids and I think of this show often. Thank you to the entire cast and crew for this show!❤

This show was not that wholesome. There were LOTS of very dark episodes, especially later in the series. I learned about RAPE by watching the two-part "Sylvia" arc when I was in the second grade. There was lots of death, drug addiction, kidnappings, plagues, violence! I think sometimes people forget how twisted the show could be, beyond just portraying the hardships of 19th century small town life. On the other hand, though, it sanitized the true story of the Ingalls family in many ways.

Eye grew up in Simi Valley… Little House On The Prairie was filmed a few miles behind my house. I also visited the set as a kid, and vividly remember sitting on the cold hard floor of one of the set houses while they were filming, (as they are completely empty inside). Fun fact: One night in the early 80’s, I ate at a restaurant called Josephina’s, Rob (Lowe) and Melissa walked in and sat in the booth next to us. What I didn’t know, but soon realized is Melissa loves, and I mean LOVES babies! My young sister was sick and Crying - MElissa was immensely caring toward her. Even at 12/13 years old, I remember it was rather striking how VERY genuine and loving she was, and at one point during dinner, she generously asked me to sit next to her and Rob, she then took a sheet of paper, pen, and what’s more, her time, and wrote a encouraging and kind letter congratulating me for winning the presidency of my school. She is the real deal folks, and has a HUGE HEART. I’ve met a number of “Stars” if you will, but Melissa is like no other. No ego, warm, smart, and MEMORABLE. Here’s to you Melissa! Thank you.❤
Loved it back then, still love it today. They don't make them like that show anymore and it's a real shame.

My all time favorite show! I've been watching the show since I probably 3 or 5 ,in 1975 , and now have the whole series on Blu ray! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a classic! I loved this program so much.
The word “Love” definitely sums it up. After my mother became bed fast with Alzheimer’s disease I bought the complete LH dvd set and played them from start to finish for her on a monitor I had placed over her bed. As time went by mom lost her ability to form sentences and eventually even her words but she would make little noises and her face would light up when she saw the simplest of scenes like gathering eggs or cooking in that little house. Mom grew up in a very similar situation without electricity or running water here in the Appalachian mountains so it was touching those deepest memories. Though going through that situation was really tough watching this series again with mom gave me so many great memories.
I read the book series before the show started, so when this show came on, I was hooked from the first moment. The stories are forever embedded in my mind. I even named my daughter Laura, after the author Laura Ingalls-Wilder.

If you three girls are reading the comments, I grew up with you and I have watched it over and over with my children. I love all of you. You are wonderful actresses. Allison, you must've endured hardship for being the most hated girl but we loved you. It wouldn't have been the same without you. Ms. Grassle, your calm (most of the time) and sweet acting spirit was perfect. You are right, we watch because of the morals and values, something so many of us desire were still happening in today's society. And Melissa, you were just so cute and I loved watching you grow up. My kids always wanted to play Laura and dress like Laura. What a blessing that show has been! (we've been on a LHOTP binge for about a month now. I've seen them all so many times and someday will watch with my grands when my girls have kids)

I love it that show was one of the best tv shows on tv to watch and I still watch little house on the prairie on tv everyday
Our family watched every Monday night. I am 60, same age as Melissa Gilbert, so it’s like we grew up together. I still love it.
When I was in TN for college (at an HBCU) in the late 80's, "Little House" would come on every afternoon, and about 5 or 6 of us would gather in my dorm room to watch it. For reasons I can't explain, I secretly put a blank cassette in my tape deck and recorded us for 90 minutes. The overall takeaway when listening to that tape is that my friends and I were completely NUTS, but it also captured us watching a "Little House" episode... and the commentary was just hysterical because we were SO invested. I'd only seen a few episodes here and there during the original run of the show, and nobody else was a habitual watcher either. That day it was episode 604, "The Third Miracle" (no, I didn't automatically remember that; I just looked it up 😊). Mary and Adam had to travel to Minneapolis so he could receive a teaching award and there's a stagecoach accident. We SHRIEKED in horror and dismay! When Mary's glasses appear, one of my friends (with all sincerity) said, "Why does she have glasses? She's blind. That ship has sailed, hasn't it?" Before the inevitable rescue happens after the fire Mary's glasses started, another friend summed things up by saying, "Well, I would just hope to never be blind and stranded in the desert with a stagecoach turned over on my husband" (with all of the "umph" to suggest that it was still possible in 1988 😆). Those are words I am SURE were never before uttered (and haven't been since - outside of the people who heard that tape) in all of human history lol. I still have that little time capsule from college; I just don't have anything to play it on anymore.
Weird seeing Caroline, Laura and Nellie all elderly women now. man, time flies.

Little House premiered the day l was born. I absolutely love this show.
We need programs like this again
My mom has been watching that show when I was little And when she was a kid too. When she saw the show.
I grew up with this watching it with my grandmother and she was living with my parents at the time and it was in the 1980s and it was one of the wonderful memories I have with my grandmother watching this and then there was like road to Avonlea and some other stuff and that was just phenomenal and I had my grandmother make me an outfit for a elementary school trip to Greenfield Village and it was phenomenal and I just love this.
Oh my goodness! I’m celebrating my 50th wedding anniversary tomorrow 23rd with the most beautiful show Little House in the Prarie. I never knew that. My Mum and myself watched it together sadly she died last November so it brings happy and sad memories but what a great programme love to everyone one who had something to do with the show who are gone and still with us. There will never be a series like it. God bless you Laura Nellie and Caroline and god bless Michael Laindon for giving us this legacy ❤
I absolutely love this show. Grew up watching it and I’m 59 now. They just don’t know how to create clean and nontoxic shows or movies anymore. I am happy to see them together after all these years. I still watch them and will because they help me grow up and showed so much love and respect towards others. ❤❤❤
