Hi guys! In regards to the lightsaber question and it being controlled by the force, we can rule it out because General Greivous from Ep III can't use the force, he's mostly a droid and he can wield up to 4 lightsabers at once.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I actually loved reading the instruction booklet as a kid. There were pictures, and it told you and prepared you about the game, gave you back story that might not get mentioned in the game.... I don't know, I would still read manuals if games had them anymore. It was satisfying holding that booklet.

+lum0s filmmakers and actors can't focus their career on just one big project. Artist and creators have to move on to other things once they are done and start the same process all over again. That's the beauty of it, and that's where you get your adrenaline going again. Shooting a movie is like climbing a high mountain and once you get to the type you realized that it is the on of that and have to start all over again to claim that mountain all over again with another movie. It's like a normal person staying flipping burgers all of his life time. Eventually he would like to do something else in the company or move on to other things.

I loved rogue squadron and shadows of the empire as a kid. They were so damn fun. It took me 2 whole days to know about the harpoon. Of course, the harpoons were in the movie, but the z button wouldn't activate the harpoon until you were super close. This was before most people had internet so you couldn't simply look it up. And I feel James for the Ewok Celebration music. Return of the Jedi is my favorite movie, so I learned the music on the piano when I was 10. Then I went to the 1997 special edition hit theaters. I was super excited to hear the soundtrack, especially the Ewok celebration. Nope. Changed it so pissed.

That AT-ST is no joke. I remember playing this game at launch and, up to this point, thinking that it was cake. NOPE. The lasers tear you to shreds if you're in front of the walker, and constantly repositioning to stay behind it (hit-and-flee) was a tough task-- especially using the blaster, which is weak. It's an epic battle, though, and you can feel your pulse getting faster as you're trying to beat this boss. One man against a walker? Dash Rendar was the Solid Snake of his time! (Minus the talking.) Can't wait for Part 2 next week!

Shadows of the Empire should really have been a movie. It's got a cool story, neat characters and one of the most realistic and three-dimensional stories in all of the Star Wars universe. There are no bad guys in it; you feel somewhat sorry for Xizor because his family was killed by Darth Vader, yet you know that Vader himself isn't pure evil and it shows multiple times in the story - he's a fallen hero fighting to retain his last senses of humanity. Dash Rendar is a badass, like Han Solo without a heart. It's just an all-round good idea and a neat concept - it's a shame it never became a film; heck, I think it could have outdone Return of the Jedi (which is, really, just a rehash of Star Wars; not saying it's bad, though!)...but instead, we got the prequel trilogy. Talk about a letdown.

I have to disagree with James and mike about the instructions. I miss the old instruction booklets. I use to sit down and read them, alot of the time on the way home from the store, getting all excited to play the game. Then by the time we got home I already knew the basics of the game and how to play. Not to mention some of the booklets had some decent back stories and lore thrown in, etc. Now you just get either nothing or just some pc code and an ad for some other game. I just got DAI and something like that would have had a nice sized book back in the day filled with story etc. One of the big criticisms on DAI was the idea that if you were new to the story you might not know who some of the people or factions were. Back in the day you never had that issue cause you had the book filled with it. Nowadays you have to pay top dollar for some extra package version to get any of that. Its kind of sad really.

Nerd moment in coming. Lightsabers loop back on themselves they go up and then come back down, sort of how a solar flare does that big loop following the magnetic field of the Sun. Only a much tighter loop and they are so bright that you cannot see the two individual filaments of plasma. Bonus nerdy fact, this is why lightsabers last so long between charges they only expend energy as they slice through things. Just turning it on and leaving it on requires almost no power.

I saw this game back in the day at a friend's house and it utterly blew my mind. But looking at it now, with those smeared, muddy textures, it's hard to believe I genuinely felt this looked as close to the reality of a Star Wars movie as I did. The graphics have not aged well. Still, it was the game that convinced me to buy an N64 over the PS or the Saturn.

The Thrawn Trilogy (Heir to the empire, Dark force rising and The last command) of books released from 1991 and up were essentially considered honorary episodes back in the day, so I never had issues with imagening post-ROTJ stories. 16:27 No. I think the light saber only adjusts to it's usual limit. There was a part in Empire Strikes Back when Luke was out in the freezing cold and then he got badly injured by a yeti. Han Solo came and rescued Luke and he used Luke's light saber to cut open the camel to stuff Luke inside it to keep him warm. I doubt any force power came into play because that yeti knocked Luke senseless. The whole time Luke was saying "Ben... Ben.... .... ...Ben."

Yes it has to do with Kyber crystals focusing the beam somehow? The iidea that its a tight arc not a beam makes the most sense in keeping it at a set length. Also other crystals can be used to color the blade. You can even have adjustable lengths and settings. ie. They can be set to more of a stun mode for training.

@@Markell1991 I thought something similar I always looked at it as basically being all in the kyber crystal which power the sabers. As they are force attuned. So I just figured the length of it is due to that. Basically the Crystal added with the hilt puts out a certain amount of energy which makes it so the lightsaber blade only goes to a certain length. Kind of make sense to me when you think of the fact that Kylo's saber has a cracked Kyber Crystal in it which is why it looks different compared to it just being a straight beam of light it instead looks different like the beam of light is crackling.

Lightsabers do not have the power to "shoot through a roof" they are powered by the kyber crystal inside of the hilt. The original lightsabers were called "Protosabers" and they had huge backpack-like power supplies to activate the crystal. The force only applies to use of the blade, and you know not cutting your own hand or arm off while swinging it around. For an example of a weapon powerful enough to use kyber crystals in that manner, that being the Death Star, as many know it is powered by Kyber crystals as well. But Kyber Crystals do have a connection to the force and the ability to activate it and use it for a lightsaber requires a connection to the force, Jedi are known to embrace the crystal's natural power, while Sith on the other hand force it to activate resulting in the crystal "bleeding" and thus why the blade is red.

lightsabers' light stops because of the focusing crystals... a lightsaber's energy is always on, "extending" the blade is merely opening an oculus, and letting it through the focusing crystal. they will glow and work for anyone, but it needs to be made by a jedi, because the different types of crystals can only be controlled/manipulated by them in their raw state.
