I'm pretty sure Batman 89 killed as many or more henchmen than Batfleck did in BVS but for some reason that couple guys who get killed in the car chase are martyrs compared to the one who got thrown off the clock tower.

These videos are of great company, especially at night. I live completely alone and some nights are melancholic to say the least

I love the soundtrack in this game. I wish we'd get Little V Mills to cover some of the songs on here.

Batman the Movie by Ocean on various computer systems was very close to the movie. Stage 1: Platform through Axis Chemicals chasing down Jack Stage 2: Driving through Gotham avoiding police roadblocks Stage 3: Puzzle stage trying to find antidote to Smyle Stage 4: Flying through Gotham snagging the Joker's poison balloons Stage 5: Platform through Cathedral chasing after the Joker For 1989, it was pretty damn cool.

"Deploy the Batman leg move" I'm dying of laughter

When James was talking about the "realism" in King Kong, I was reminded of a guy I knew when I was a teenager. He really, really hated all forms of Japanese storytelling, but especially fantasy stuff, and would make complaints like "In Final Fantasy, Cloud wouldn't be able to wield a sword that big in real life, it's so unrealistic" Yeah, but Cloud's a genetically modified super soldier (albeit a failed one) who can leap twenty stories into the air unaided I think that's a smidgen more unrealistic than "big sword" myself

I got is and just found it funny that they used the song yet could only say "Genesis does what". As the original song was all about saying how its better than Nintendo. Yet Sega got their asses handed to them in the console wars. So its not like they can brag about what their classic console does compared to Nintendo.

The museum was full of Batman stuff because it’s the 80th anniversary of the character. Just so happens that the Tim Burton film is 30 years old this year too.

Total Recall on NES is kinda accurate. Pretty much all the levels of the game are in the movie.

LOVED this game when it came out in '91. Fantastic soundtrack as well.

It looks like they might come out with another Batman movie if they're promoting Batman like you're saying. Hopefully, it'll be Batman vs. Predator.

James and Mike should try Chakan: the Forever Man on Genesis. That game was to Sega what Dark Souls is to Xbox and PlayStation. Extremely difficult.

Well, we have the new Robert Pattinson Batman interviews that came out recently, so maybe that's why James feels that Batman's more popular right now.

Technically he was the original drummer, Stu Sutcliffe was the 5th Beatle, the original bass player.

This game was really hard to get the controls right in my experience

Tim Burton's Batman came out in the UK on August 11th, 1989. I always remember that date, because everyone was going about with Batman logo T-shirts, with AUGUST 11 under it. The level of hype was insane.

This looks very much like the C64 game. I remember once I was waiting for it to load and I was just spamming random stuff on the keyboard. All sorts of things, from "I am Batman" to random gibberish. I managed to activate a cheat mode for infinite lives. I then completed the game in a unexpected playthrough. That cosmetics level was the hardest in the game, so finally getting past that was such a joy.

I always thought they could just cast any random dude as Batman but they should hire Kevin Conroy to dub all his lines

Kinda but the dude on the cover reminds more of Tarantino or Schwarzenegger.

I had the Gameboy Batman movie game, which was also made by Sunsoft. It had a similar spinning Batman logo at the beginning, but the Gameboy version basically had Batman shooting pellets/throwing batarangs instead of punching or kicking. There were also some Batwing flight stages that felt like they belonged in a different game.

Hahaha that laugh at the end when he beat joker was amazing

In my opinion batman 1989 arcade was the best. It had accurate enimes, it had the soundtrack and all the scenes were in order.

Although the game was gorgeous on the graphics department, audio was awesome; the fighting mechanics for gameplay was horrendous.

Yeah. James liked games, but most of the idea for the nerd and a lot of the channel's early content was thought up by Mike, but the title CINEMAssacre was James.

Angry Video Game Mike. Mike is definitely the cliche "get mad when playing games". James is a lot more soft spoken and chill about it. It does happen to him as well, but not to the same extent and ease. I'm just now wondering; in what other hobby is it so ingrained people get this frustrated?

Actually the best explination ive heard is that a jets strafe targeting is meant to target other air or ground vehicles much larger than a human making it extremely hard to precisely hit a small human target. So the batting not hitting joker while hes standing still seems plausible. Also that joker realises that if he moves around trying to dodge there will be a greater chance he does get hit.

If he's gotta go, go with a smile.

Batman the movie is 30 years old, Batman the character is 80 years old. And I'm happy that Mike did the Mario thing and made Batman jump on an enemy.

Now this looks like a Batman game. NES version looks like reskinned post-apocalyptic sci-fi... something.

I think the reason why Batman has been so "extra popular" recently, since this year marks Batman's 80th Anniversary (as a character).

i really think nes version is much better. Usally games based on movies arent really good... But nes batman managed to nail it. Actually backgrounds at nes's batman is more dark and moody than Tim Burton's movie. i got no idea who is art director of nes's batman. But he(she) is genious. :) at sega version its looks like batman just walkin at brightest parts of city. There is always a light around him. At nes version one there is no bright paths to walk at night at all.

I watch avgn every single day (and I mean every day). Mike is one of the best parts of avgn.

I remember seeing Batman at a flea market in early 90s NY called Busy Bee Flea Market. It was the japanese version and came in a small clamshell that just fit the cartridge and the graphics blew my mind. I ended up buying an import of Strider...

My favorite version of James and Mike Mondays is this version. Where Mike is playing the game and James is talking. It's so much more entertaining!

I completely forgot it was Monday until I got this notification.

It's not just you, James. I've noticed a lot of Batman-related stuff too. This year marks the Caped Crusader's 80th anniversary, so that may have something to do with it.

I think that's all The Joker really needs: regular rehab. Who knows, the twelve steps could turn him right around.

There is so much complaints about the DCEU but when I look at it overall it has a lot more good movies to me than the MCU. I enjoyed suicide squad for what it was and Justice League was not any worse to me than Thor The Dark World.

Every track on this games ost is a banger.

I like how the knife guy was knocked out with one hit in the movie but they made him a boss.
