Fun fact: The star destroyer actually carries over damage done from the previous mission. For example, if you destroyed the ion turrets in Razor Rendezvous, they’ll be destroyed in this mission. If you destroyed 5 and left 3 intact, those 3 will still be functioning in this mission.

I've always wondered how that tracks with replays. Can you play Razor Rendezvous just before this one and take out all the ion turrets specifically to make this mission easier, or does it only check from the first time you played?

As much as I would like that to happen, Rogue Leader never got a PC release unlike the original, so that would be very difficult to do.

Maybe Crix had a lot of bothan commandos

If you start as a Y-Wing in this mission you can make things go faster by bombing the hull of the Star Destroyer before the troops even land. Then you don't have to switch into one later on. It does make fighting off the TIEs a little harder, though.

It’s very possible. Even destroy the ground defenses of the imperials to score higher.

When you're a technician who finally managed to escape the crashed, flooded, and ready to blow Star Destroyer and the last thing you see is a Y-Wing bomber drop a proton bomb on you.

And this is why you could tell Gareth Edwards is a real Star Wars geek/Fan. Battle of Scarif. ;-)

I'd love a movie where they have Imperials blast their way out of their own ship.

+Glandor Exactly, Book 6 of the X-Wing series, Wedge and company took them down with lasers they didn't use the torpedoes in case they needed them against a capital ship.

I just wanna say that the whole X-wing taking down AT-ATs thing is kinda stupid. I can see a squadron of X-wings taking down maybe two At-ATs, if they gave 'em everything they got.

Clark Esteban Nah, its one thing that the Snowspeeders lasers can’t take them out, but X Wings are starfighters, their lasers should pack more than enough of a punch to take down an AT-AT.

I think they should have had a slightly harder time with just lasers than in Isard's Revenge (Which I think is actually book 8 of the X-Wing novels) but they should go down to laser fire eventually.

Love usin' cluster bombs in this mission.

I revisited this game not too long ago and it still holds up very well. We actually need a modern star wars game like this

There is literally no room for error when tripping the walkers on this, though that goes to say any time. To close and you may end up hitting a leg and blowing up. To far and you risk loosing the connection to your cable.

The Medium transport by Lore is armed with self defense weapons but for some odd reason, this is never shown in these games.

Maybe it's REALLY hot. Could totally be generating so much heat that water wouldn't cool it. I mean, think about how much energy it would take to launch a vehicle of that size into hyperspace. Probably 1 year's worth of NYC's consumption. That's a hot reactor.

As fun as this level is--the bit where you have to take down those AT-ATs demonstrates how off-scale some things are; namely, the size ratio between the walkers and the wrecked Star Destroyer, seeing as old EU source guides say the typical Star Destroyer carried at least a half-dozen AT-ATs--and even with the legs scrunched in, there's no way in hell a ship that size could have carried that many plus all the TIEs it had in the previous level (typical Imperial Star Destroyer carries a full wing--which is 72 TIEs; not to mention other craft such as shuttles and gunboats).

the AT-ATs crawling out of the water scared me as a kid for some reason.

Omg this is definitely going to be in Rogue One.

Scarif was inspired by Toprawa which was the battle that explained how the Alliance captured the Death Star plan. Which was more of a commando raid on the planet and a small space battle over all but at the time it, the Alliance brought everything they could.

I always used the Naboo star fighter

This planet looks very similar to Scariff

I remember playing and constantly being called away to fend off tie fighters. I could never finish the actual objectives.

how did the Rebellion take out AT-ATs before the Tow Cable Strategy was invented. I'm sure a few Proton Bombs would have cracked that walker wide open even with it's super armor

Hoth was the first time they ever faced the AT-AT in large scale combat. Before then, they did face it in skirmishes or small battles which always required them to over whelm them with firepower they normally didn't have.

My only advice is to quickly take out the AT-PTs, then go after the ground troops near the Star Destroyer.

Start off as a Y Wing anyway in this mission you can bomb the star destroyer top hangar earlier than when the mission prompts for this.

I wish they released this on the switch...They don’t have to remaster it or anything I just wanna play it again :(

Because the Factor 5 team and its composer Chris Huelsbeck wanted to develop some original BGMs to better suit the content for this game over using original Movie BGMs. Some missions in this game feature original Star Wars OST MP3’s like the Death Star Attack, Raid on Bespin, and the 2nd Death Star Attack.

Looks like The Force Awakens. Cool

He had actually assisted in collecting the data in the first place with the Bothans, but got captured by bounty hunters in Shadows of the Empire.
