Its so crazy to think about it: This game started out as an absolute Pay-to-Win Desaster but the Devs at DICE were able to pull that game back up to the top with good content added and a nice upgrading system, but then EA jumps in and says "nope, this game is killed". This game was at its peak player numbers and was going very well, I just cant get wrap my head around the fact that they just killed it off...

@Flare I don’t think it’s fair to say that. It’s not that EA never makes good games, rather, they almost always do a great job turning their community against them by asking for micro transactions to make yourself “better” in game. EA has been behind plenty of good games, it’s just they’re known for being a bit greedy. I’m not saying I like EA, but saying they make no good games isn’t an accurate statement.

@Flare right, but you’re talking about the release. Lots of games these days are released in a very buggy state. Look at Cyberpunk, the new Pokémon game, etc. just because a game is broken on launch doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. Battlefront II 2017 is now a pretty well polished game, it may have taken some time to get there, but judging a game off of it’s release date isn’t fair either mate.

I grew up playing the original battlefronts and all the other star wars games and all of them will always have a very special place in my heart, but the first DICE Battlefront was my first online game. Back then I had a lot of complaints about the game (and probably rightfully so), but I can't help but remember all the great times it gave me.

The sequence at 1:18 with the Falcon and the X-Wings just gets my heart racing. The sound design and the visuals are just amazing

Rackie Now the heroes are free to play without the credit pay wall, the leveling system is so much better in that it gives you star cards and ranks as you level up that particular class (it gives you one ‘skill point’ every time you rank up a class/hero/vehicle which can buy a star card rank whether it be rank 1 or an upgrade), grinding is still gonna reward players for doing so however it is something anybody can do without the pointless credits -> crates -> maxed out cards bull crap. It levels out the playing field more so for people who may not be able to do every single daily challenge then gamble it all away hoping for a pay out. It allows a natural progression for everything. They also ironed out some bugs, improved lightsaber combat so it’s more true to the lore, and such

anthony cabrera True, but this was heavily choreographed. We have no way of knowing if they got rid of all the shit that made the last game bad. In other words we need to hope EA learned their lesson and we need to trust them to make a good game.

Shoutout to those that stuck by since launch. Y'all the real ones. Here's to hoping we get another multiplayer shooter for this franchise. Edit: Also, that scene where the Clone Jumpers land in front of the MTT in synce with the music STILL gives me chills. SHEEEEESH.

This was the first game I’ve played from beta until final update. I do feel like a new multiplayer shooter is needed. It’s been 3 years since the last Battlefront 2 update, and it’ll be 6 years this year since the launch of the game. If there’s no multiplayer shooter being developed currently, I can see it being a good 7+ years since the last one. Luckily, Respawn are really good at multiplayer shooters, and I think employing them to make a FPS game and not making it multiplayer wouldn’t be the highest IQ choice ever. I guess all we can do is wait and see.

Still came back to this master piece trailer in 2023 :)

Yup. I think it wouldn’t have been as bad if BF2042 had been better at launch. I think then at least all of the devs they had working on the game that they took from Battlefront 2 could’ve been justified. 2042 is supposed to be doing better in 2023 though.

I like how about half of the trailer is showing off Clone Wars era stuff; it's almost like EA's saying "alright alright, we've included the Clone Wars this time, are you happy now?" And you know what? Damn right we are! x3

In an alternate universe, battlefront 2 is still pumping out content left and right and became the ultimate Star Wars game, and finally gained the respect of the entire Star Wars fanbase.

ZILLA Productions 303 grievous is buggy as hell. Thrust surge can't hit a single enemy, unrelenting advance is weak as hell. He is one of the weakest heroesright now

@@somecommenter4256 Yeah I know. Such disappointment. I really thought he would actually be over powered but instead he has two usless abilities. I like the crawl rush which is the only one I find actually "useful" in a battle. All the other ones are so under powered. And yeah he is kind of buggy in game.

This was DICE at its peak. Sadly, never to be seen again.

One of the best Star Wars games. Still gives me chills thinking about this game. Can’t believe this games been out for 3 years I still remember getting hyped for its release.

0:41 - Me seeing the trailer and downloading the game on PS4 during its release 0:42 - Me seeing lootboxes and microtransactions coming with the game on release

It's this mix of wishing we got more, knowing we could have, but still being happy that we made memories anyway and now there is no battlefront to look forward to at all.

I flipped out when I saw the Clones. Nearly cried tears of joy and awesomeness.
