My favorite part about this trailer is how it tricks you into thinking there's a main character. You see a Japanese Soldier and an American through this battle, and once the Japanese guy dies you go "Yes the hero saves the day" but then he gets shot too. No main characters in war, just senseless death

This is why opening to BF1 was very good and special. Every time you were pushed to another character, it died, giving full name, birth and death date. Too bad the rest of the campaign was screwed up and it became "protagonist" shooter, yet they were very special stories.

Unfortunately that’s how it was. Japanese never surrendered. And the ones who did where physically unable to fight (ie the badly wounded). That’s why America didn’t want to invade Japan. Predictions had the casualties to be at 500,000 troops.

@@reecen819 Actually, the casualty estimate for Operations Endgame was upwards of 1 million us troops and some death toll estimates were up to 15-20 million for the Japanese. They made 500,000 purple hearts in preparation. They're still using those medals.

For those who are still hesitant on playing BFV, the chaos on 2:14 is surprisingly accurate. You will definitely enjoy all the Pacific theater maps. And for the European and African theater maps, I will recommend Op Underground, Al Marj, Provence, and Twisted Steel.

Don't know why people say "This game had so much potential" etc etc. Most people don't see past all the controversy around the game, but if you actually play it, it's an incredible game, and one of the best battlefield experiences. It's extremely immersive, and has amazing gunfights and general gameplay. Just play it and you'll see!

I love this game so much, it has the best gunplay, best movement and best destruction(As well as my favorite Tank gameplay and tons of other features compared to the other. Battlefields). Battle Royale is a wasted mode and wasted space, movement is alright, but TTK is awful. More updates wouldn’t have done the game much good because it’s clear DICE didn’t care about the game. The game was done from the moment it made it on the drawing board. If the devs have no clear vision from the start like they did with BF1, then the game is bound to fail before development even begins. It’s clear that that DICE had no intentions on making a WW2 game much less a good game, trust me; the first ideas that crossed their mind when they began putting ideas on the white board: the Soviet Union, War In Africa, Finland, China, Australia, none of those came to mind, what came to their minds first was what we got in the first trailer, a political, trend chasing, money making, vision less disaster. It’s especially tragic because seems the fans cared more about Battlefield V being a good game than the devs themselves. Though EA has influence on DICE, DICE always has the major influence on the product they’re going to make, all the devs that made BF1 left, and the new hires were feminists with Blue hair. The person who was in charge of the pacific maps was someone they brought from outside after they saw how badly BFV was doing in an attempt to turn the game around, but sad truth is like I said, game was far from being salvageable. Battlefield as a franchise will remain in this state until DICE hires once again competent people who have vision, passion, and talent.

Landing on the beach and got killed outta nowhere, its the most iconic my first gameplay in Battlefield V

LISTEN DICE. If DICE added a HUGE DLC right now in 2022 with atleast 8-10 eastern front maps and chargés 15 dollars for it they would make a killing. I swear this game had the potential to be the BEST WW2 GAME in history no doubt about it.

I agree 100%. Imagine if they put Stalingrad or other maps in Eastern Europe like Poland or Czech with new russian weapons like the iconic ppsh or the mosin and why not maybe some map in China. The ww2 is an unlimited ispiration for a game

Abandon 2042. Give us a the Eastern Front DLC. The Russian DLC in BF1 was fantastic. It's a crime support was cut before it happened here.

The best part was that even the best soldiers still died, because in a war, there is no plot armor, and no immortal heroes.

People forget that ea was using their new marketing team who REFUSED to read up on gameplay. So they just handed the script to the animators and called it a day. They were all fired within 3 weeks.

Sometimes i question myself why do I enjoy this trailer so much. There is so much violence and death here and yeat I have a pleasure goosebumps when I see a virtual cruel battle unfolding with an epic ost.

Didn’t they say they were doing it in an chronological episodic way? Plus, Stalingrad and D-day are really common. Though it would be cool to see them. Except I don’t have the game, and from what I hear it’s not as good as BF1.

Probably won’t happen. BFV is meant to focus on the lesser known, more obscure battles of WWII. Of course, if they want to, they could absolutely ignore that rule. But who knows.

I wasn’t much a battlefield fan nor played any of the battlefield games until I saw this dlc trailer which pretty much made me give battlefield a chance and I loved it

This is probably one of the few game trailers which I feel like accurately represents how the gameplay actually is. I remember when the update dropped and it felt so intense.

That game was leagues better than this Michel bay bullshit... gritty and realistic.

Coming back to this trailer after 4 years it just hurts more how eventually even BF:V found its way only for the franchise be killed off by greedy EA execs and them just hellbent on turning BF into a hero shooter. Now it's all gone.

2:46 when you thought you killed the last guy but there was just one guy left in the enemy team.
