Staccato P - 2500 Round Review with NO OIL and NO CLEANING

Staccato built the 2011 P as the answer for Law Enforcement. Historically, 1911/2011s have been known to be picky which is why I took my own personal P to the limit when I didn't either clean and oil it for 2500 rounds. Check out the video to see how it did!

Skip the Glock comparison, I want to see this against the shadow 2 (or sp-01)! Currently in carry optics thinking about Limited Optics , so I’m super interested in 2011 vs CZ

I shoot a P in LO and just made M. CZ are overrated and frankly not in the same class. I'd rather shoot an LTT RDO Beretta. I have 25k rounds on a 2022 produced P and have had 3 malfunctions and I've not replaced anything yet.

Definitely appreciate all your in depth reviews and honest feedback. Ive seen your reviews now on the MPA, CZ Shadow 2, and now the P. These are the 3 from which I will be making my first firearm purchase. The main purpose of this purchase will be to begin training for USPSA/IDPA matches. Im doing my due diligence on these and have somewhat ruled out MPA due to the smaller market share and some bad reviews and CS with the company. The Shadow 2 and P are neck to neck right now - any advice that will help me make my decision will be much greatly appreciated. Ive been waiting patiently for my first firearm purchase.

Interesting choices… my quick thoughts… The S2 has more options for Divisions in USPSA but not really a home in IDPA due to weight unless you’re willing to get some machine work done. The P from a competitive standpoint due to the Minor vs Major scoring as well as SAO really only has a home In USPSA LO (or be cool like Nils and shoot limited minor if you want)… but does have a home in IDPA for CO and ESP. Both have excellent aftermarket options… but if you know that you want to commit to only USPSA… I’d pick the S2 personally… less drama in terms of maintenance, reliable and tune-able. The P if you want run both sports.

@@Test8672 I lean in favor of USPSA largely because of the gameplay. For me, shooting and competing come before which org I shoot or the ruleset… so I manage to have fun in both. What I have seen though… a lot of shooters start in IDPA then either migrate to USPSA or stay in IDPA… very few shoot both religiously like I do.

If you send your Stacatto to Vulcan machine weeks you can get it cut for a dot for much cheaper than 700. But for 700 you can get it cut for a dot and ported

I’m working on a video comparing these 2 as well as the Prodigy. Before I spoil it… the best way to explain it is “the DS9 is everything you wanted to do to your P!” I say that as a fair amount of guys that buy Ps end up just changing most of the components out and you can certainty get a P to perform on par with the DS9

@@TheGentlemanGunner how would you rate the Staccato coating against the DS9 coating? I've been on the fence about picking a DS9 up to shoot instead of the P in USPSA LO but I took a long time to warm up to the P and not sure if it is worth starting over.

@@ComputersAre8ad I would say I’m actually harder on my DS9s than i am my Staccato… no blemishes with exception of a slight wear on the trigger guard from where my hands sit (I believe that’s anodized). The pictures on my website are of the actual gun at 5k… check ‘em out! Depending on what you want to do… the DS9 is tuned and optimized for competition… no need to think mods unless you want to. The handful of guys I know that shoot Ps in comps… do the typical things… trigger job, steel/metal grips, etc… If you have been on P for some time, that transition will only be mental. The P is more forgiving in terms of maintenance and ammo selection. The DS9s do require more attention (cleaning, oiling, etc…)

@@TheGentlemanGunner I run my P in matches but I'm small time local matches only really. I've had trigger work, swapped to an extremeshooters grip, real magwell, Atlas shielded safeties.. all the fun stuff. I'm getting close to 4k rounds of reloaded 137gr at a 130pf and I've cleaned it once and everything basically wiped off. This was the first time I appreciated the P after new gun high wore off if I'm being honest. Previous I had thought about swapping to the MPA and I'm still on the fence. Metal grip I'm not sure is a game changer but I figure the 5" barrel and slide would help... also means I can drop to using less powder to keep my 130pf.

@@ComputersAre8ad that sounds like a solid setup and the biggest thing is you seem comfortable with it! So I’m going to give you this perspective… and it’s different 😂… you have two options… buy the gun and its everything you wanted and you feel more confident and shoot better as a result… or you buy the gun… hate it… (maybe sell it) and only validates how much you love your P. The win is more so getting rid of that feeling that “there’s something better” and it eliminates that thought of making an excuse for not working on your craft… I’m speaking from experience from this one 😂
