St. Patrick’s Day: Dublin awash in green as thousands line streets for annual parade
Dublin was awash in green on Sunday as crowds flooded the city’s streets to catch a glimpse of the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.
According to organizers this was the largest ever St. Patrick’s Day parade, with half a million spectators lining the parade route. Some 4,200 street performers, pageant companies and marching bands from across Ireland and the globe were taking part.
St. Patrick’s Day observes the patron saint of Ireland and has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture characterized by parades, dancing and drinking.

P.S. I'm a saint. So is everyone who believes and follows Jesus, this(saint) is how all the Apostles referred to their ordinary Christian friends(me) in the New Testament.

St Patrick used the three leaf clover to explain the Holy Trinity! Father, Son and Holy Spirit in one! He protected Ireland by driving out the snakes! Follow his example! Ireland forever!

St Patrick was British-born, so this celebration represents these isles even more widely than St George, who came from Asia Minor, which was never even part of the Commonwealth. Mind you, I suppose that St George, and St. Andrew, therefore represent even greater inclusivity than St Patrick. Yay for All..

@@nancetardiff339 Very true. There are more more people of Scottish, Irish and Welsh descent in England than there are in Scotland, Ireland and Wales. There has been considerable flow the other way, as well. Apparently, discounting recent immigration and the Scots-Irish in Ulster, only two-thirds of current Irish DNA is ancient Irish. We are all very mixed. All that differs in these isles are the proportions. Nationalism is essentially a state of mind influenced by cultural inheritance and personal choice. It is more memetic than genetic.

Where is Rottshields Mascot and Veradkar & Co.puppets on the streets of Dublin City? Paddy's Day is not complete without it. Not to mention tents with thousands of migrants around city centre.
The British monarchy wishing the Irish "Happy St. Patrick's Day" is like Hitler wishing the Jews Happy Hanukkah.

I'm from Dublin, last time I saw the Paddy Day's parade was 2008. To be honest most go there out of curiosity but I've no idea why American, college marching bands are allowed into the festival (I heard they pay to walk in the parade) seriously...

Why was LeBron James's high school band invited to perform? There was a float with homosexual performers also in this parade, maybe that's telling...

st patricks day? meaningless. we just work work work and pay tax. and goes on. no entertainment and still NO money coz taken by the government and everything else is expensive.... st pat's day? are u kidding me?
At this point this is extremeley disjointed and nonsensic. Did everyone from this video came from a mad house? Why are the hats green? Why are they wearing them? Why the suits? Why the soldiers? Why a giant shark and wizard? Why the bag pipes? Who the hell is Patrick and why do these fake plasticky props represent him?

Saint who? Why do yanks celebrarte this Irish event but not an English event (St Georges day). And why do the Irish celebrate this alien event in Great Britain that has nothing ( thankfully) to do with British traditions

Because the Irish never tortured, controlled, or killed Americans like the country that likes to brag "the sun never sets on their empire"? Did leprechauns set fire to the White House in 1812? Was that an Irish general that wounded Andrew Jackson as an adolescent with a sword?
