Iran helicopter crash: Contact made with passenger and crew member
Contact has been made with a passenger and a crew member of the Iranian president's helicopter, an official has told state TV.
The unnamed official said contact has been made on several occasions.
Sky's Middle East correspondent Alistair Bunkall says this marks a "really significant development".

That’s not really true, the most modern of helicopters have all of the ground proximity radar and warnings that Jets do. Keep in mind in the Kobe helicopter crash, that helicopter did not have a lot of that safety technology which exists for helicopters but is currently not mandatory.

I come from a place that frequently has clouds and not every pilot is qualified to fly in those conditions. They must go through special training as they must rely solely on their gadgets due to zero visibility in the clouds. Pilots that live in areas with predominantly sunny weather do not usually go through the extra training required because of cost and low relevance, they simply just don’t fly on overcast days. The pilot could have easily miscalculated the landing and it’s also possible for them to become disoriented, making the skilled use of the technology available even more important.

'Crash' means a totally unintended end to the journey. 'Hard Landing' suggests an intended end to the journey which wasn't entirely controlled - basically an attempted landing in difficult conditions that was somewhat less than 100% successful, but not a complete failure.

When ground searchers are numerous and need shelter, warmth, first aid or held for a smaller ambulance to take them to hospital. Also used in mass casuality events, say a bus crash, with many minor I juries that need to go to hospital, but don't need stretchers, so all the sprains, lacerations, minor fractures, whiplash etc ride together.
