In 1978, as part of the Camp David accords, Israel agreed to give back the Sinai Peninsula and tried to make it a package deal including Gaza. Egypt refused the offer, saying Gaza was never part of Egypt.

Slight correction. The northern kingdom of Israel was conquered by the Assyrians. Only later did the southern kingdom of Judah get conquered by Babylonia. So they were not conquered at the same time and not by the same people. Other than that a very objective and unbiased video.

Yoseph Hadad, an israeli arab activist shared that when israel came to be according to his grandmother who was actually there at the time, anyone who was in israeli designated territory could choose to stay right where they are and become israeli citizens, some chose to do so (and the fact is theres 2mil arabs in israel atm, full rights and no apartheid bs) and some hated the fact there would be a state for jews and chose war from the very beginning, and when given the choice (many times mind you) to make a Palestinian official state, they declined, not because they didnt want a state, but because they didnt want Israel to be. Otherwise they might as well would have made a state while it was Jordanian occupation, or Egyptian.

Another account of the events state that the arabs living in israel at that time were also partly influenced to leave by arab leaders who promised them that they will get to return once they "rid the place of jews" - something which unfortunately did not happen because the arabs lost the war against israel. So in any way you look at it, the palestinians being displaced is largely their own doing. Play stupid games, win stupid prices.

2 important things to mention: Palestinians aren't Philistines. (Edit: due to some wrong details in a paragraph I wrote about the genetic differences between the Philistines and the modern day Palestinians I deleted this paragraph, yet my initial claim IS TRUE - Philistines are not Palestinians) Secondly, the name Palestine was originally Philistia and it was given to the land of Israel after the defeating of the Bar Kohkva revolt in the 2nd century as a way to mock the Jews as the name Philistia as you might have already guessed is derived from the Philistines who were one of the biblical enemies of the Israelites (Jews). At the time of the Ottoman empire the land wasn't called "Palestine" but it was ruled under the governing of the Egyptian region of the Ottoman empire, after the Brits conquered the land of Israel they called both Jordan and Israel "the British mandate of Palestine (or Palestina) א"י, א"י means the land of Israel (ארץ ישראל in Hebrew). Only in Egypt and Jordan they were expelled in the classical sense, amounting to about 100,000 Jews. Most Arab nations in fact banned the Jews from leaving to not strengthen Israel, they may have faced discrimination, but they were not exiles. In some countries, like Algeria and Yemen, they left mainly because of the wars there, which had nothing to do with Israel. In other countries they eventually left when the Israelis negotiated an end to the travel bans or left illegally with the assistance of the Mossad.

In a recent genetic study jews from several diaspora were examined. The research was done to learn how to treat diseases that are characteristics of a certain ethnic group in israel. For the purpose of the study people were selected whose both parents are from the same country. Ashkenazi jews, jews from marocco, jews from irak and Iran, and jews from italy and Yemen participated in the study. The result of the study showed that all the participants in the study are third cousins from the father side. That means a genetic match of 2%, between two complete strangers there is genetic match of 0.2%. between two brothers for example there is a genetic match of 50%. The study shows that Ashkenazi jews and jews from marocco and jews from irak and Iran and jews from italy and from Yemen they all share a common ancestor from the father's side.

to be honest, as a child in Israel I didn't even considered for a brief moment that the stories we've been reading about in Bible class are a real world events, it was like a fantasy book for me. only when I grew up I understood which stories go hand in hand with real world well-documented events and archeological findings and which stories stay as "fantasy". most Israelis don't use the Bible for any reasoning, there's enough evidence of the two kingdoms and the two temples even without the Bible scripture.

Some corrections (sorry for the length): 1. According to the Bible, the Hebrew story in the land begins with Abraham and his offspring, ~4000 ys ago (not in the Exodus). 2. According to archeology, Hebrew communities started to appear ~1200 BCE, before evidences of the establishment of the 2 kingdoms (seems to match with Joshua's conquest story). 3. Archeological evidences of king David were found as well (though we don't know the exact extent of his kingdom). 4. It's true that many Jews remained after the revolt of 132 AD was suppressed, but many were exiled as well (0.5-1.5 millions were either killed or exiled). 5. A large Jewish population remained until the 7-9 centuries AD. Then the land became almost totally empty. This happened at the time of the arrival of the Arabs, but historians don't know yet the reasons for it. It probably was due to migration out and not a massacre. 6. Up until the mid 19th century, with the exception of the Crusader empire, the land remained relatively empty and undeveloped (even comparing with its surrounding areas), with 100K-150K people in total. There're several western sources from that time that accounted for that. Today the Palestinians claim that there were more than 300K ppl even at the end of the 18th century, but this number is based on Ottoman's account for "young men fit for military" in the *entire Palestine* province (including Jordan and south of Lebanon & Syria). In order to calculate from that the total number of people, in *today*'s land of Israel/Palestine, they assumed the same level of development, life expectancy and mortality rate in the land as in other provinces (such as Egypt and Damascus). Which is not consistent with the many Western surveys from the 19th century that described it as a wasteland compared to its surrounding (with details and maps). 7. Most of the Arabs in the land migrated in from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with the development of the land. Especially under the British mandate. So saying that because for centuries Muslim empires ruled and just a few Arabs lived there, then the land now belongs to all Arabs/Muslims that come in (which is what their argument comes down to), even though they never descended from this land and they do have other ethnic states, this is the real imperialism/colonialism here. So to reconcile it for western ears they started referring themselves as "Palestinian People" and lie about their origin. 8. Worth mentioning here that there were thousands of years old Jewish communities all across the land, including in Gaza city, Nablus, Hebron & Jericho (WB), Jerusalem and more. Some of them were destroyed in Arab pogroms in 1929, others destroyed in the Arab ethnic cleansing and Jordanian occupation of 1948. 9. 1947 was NOT the first international recognition of a Jewish nation. You forgot the 2008 offer to a Palestinian state made by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. 14. You mentioned that the Jewish settlements are "colonialization" of "Palestinian territories". But: A) Many of them are reconstruction of the communities that the Arabs destroyed in 1929 and 1948. In some cases the exact same individuals who were banished, returned to their exact homes (in Etzion Bloc and Jerusalem) (see point 8). So they can't be "colonies". B) The Palestinians, as most of them migrated from the surrounding countries (see point 7), never had any historical justification for owning the land. 15. Eventually, one side (Israel) really did try and made genuine offers for peace, despite having historical rights to the land, while the other side (the Arabs) rejected all of them, launching terror attacks, brainwash their population with materials taken from the Nazi education system (I'm not exaggerating), and all the while without having a real historical right to the land.

Also the history after 1946 is quite inaccurate (to not say wrong), its made to look like muslims started civil unrest by attacking jewish villages and "besieging" jerusalem (which by that point was clearly under the rulings of UN and british mandate, muslims were not allowed to express there religion there, which is unlawfull), it was not stated thar those actions came as a reaction to muslims being violently pushed out of their living quarters and homes.

10:45 the flag introduced in this part was yet to be invented in 1936. This is the PLO flag created in 1964. But so far that’s the only inaccurate thing Iv’e noticed. Really factual and accurate!

There are quite a few holes in this story. I'll name one - when Jews lived under Muslim rule they weren't tolerated if they paid the tax, they were tolerated if they agreed to be completely subjugated by the Muslims. Go and do some research on the pact of Umar to see how oppressive this was. Another point, many jews came from neighbouring countries such as Morocco, Iran, Iraq etc. where they were persecuted for their faith. There were Jews that came from Europe but the numbers that came from neighbouring countries was very high, thought to be about 900,000.

Rather, they wanted formal peace from the Arab states and recognition of their borders based on the 1949 armistice. In return, Israel offered to either annex Gaza and grant citizenship to all its inhabitants or to compensate all refugees for their displacement as well as accepting 100,000 refugees into Israel. The Arab states refused.

A few historical inaccuracies. Egypt was part of the British Empire and had full control of the Suez Canal from 1885-1954(56).

Most of the "palestinians" fled their homes because the arab countries told them to do so, they promised they'll be back soon after Israel is conquered. This fact drastically changes the viewing point of "expelled" or "displaced". there were displacements, like in any war and conquests... but in this case most of the displacement happened on their own fault.

Some were native tribes, and some are migrants. Unless you're talking about during world war where in some arab countries Jews were blocked to leave (some reasoned so the Jews wouldn't be hunted), 2 countries reported to have kicked them out (I have no idea why), and some countries willingly helped them survive the anti-jewish movement and the Holocaust (like Morocco, during 19XXs)

Well they are still refugees. If Jews from around the world can simply demand to return in a country only because of their belief or because their ancestors from hundreds of years ago once lived in this land, then people of Palestinian descent should also be allowed to return in the land where their grandparents and great-grandparents once lived and where they were expelled from in the last 80 years. It should be one rule for all and not only some people benefitting because of their belief, that's literally what an Austrian painter did, classified one group as better and superior than others and look what happened.

Roughly speaking, the UNHCR oversees ALL refugee resettlement globally while the UNRWA was founded specifically to handle the Palestinian refugees. Over time, they have developed slightly different missions, methods, and operating definitions. The UNHCR only considers those who flee conflict or persecution to be refugees and works to assist resettlement into new communities. The UNRWA - again, remember they only work with Palestinians - considers that refugee status to continue down through the generations until the conflict is resolved and works to aid Palestinians where they are until that point, not resettle. From there, reasonable people could debate which approach is better or more effective at helping people fleeing conflict or persecution. The UNRWA's approach has unnecessarily perpetuated the Palestinian-Israeli conflict by keeping alive the possibility of return to a land they no longer inhabit and have not lived on in their lifetimes or, in some cases, their parent's lifetimes. No other refugee group is allowed this fiction. The UNHCR has assisted others in building new lives elsewhere in diaspora. For this reason and a host of others, the UNRWA should be disbanded and the care and aid of the Palestinian refugees passed to the UNHCR. The Gaza residents who have been displaced by this current war are refugees, but from today's conflict not 1948. They deserve help and aid in both survival and resettlement (should they choose it).” Also keep in mind, some Arab countries don’t even allow Palestinians to achieve citizenship.

A Vietnamese refugee who comes to America and has kids does not give birth to refugees, she gives birth to Americans. Meanwhile, there are hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who are the children, grandchildren, even great-grandchildren of those expelled to Gaza and the West Bank during the Nakba who were born refugees and whose future children will also be born refugees.

Really the bias has always been in favor of the Bible until archaeologists failed to find evidence to support the exodus and the world flood. The later parts of the Old Testament are generally regarded as historical, save some embellishments, so I’m not sure what you mean about historians denying the existence of the Hittites due to them being mentioned in the Bible, because as far as I know historians weren’t reluctantly conceding to the biblical narrative but rather using it as a starting point and believing its claims when they could find evidence to support them

In case anyone doesn't get this reference, the main antagonist of the Star Wars Movies is "Emperor Palpatine".

Wouldn't say this is biased, but it DEFINITELY leaves out some important info.... like who rejected each peace deal/cease fire and why, or any mention of thousands of unsuccessful attempts at killing civilians (intent is just as bad as actual murder). I can kind of see a parallel between the traditional story and the historical evidence-based story. The traditional story posits that Jews were evacuated from Egyptian control in Egypt and fled across the Sinai peninsula before settling in modern day Israel, whereas historical evidence like the video says points more towards the Egyptian I guess empire extending past modern day Israel and then receding after being harassed by the Hittites. The traditional account could be partially technically true if they were already in the area that would become Israel, but under Egyptian occupation, so they were technically in Egypt, and if the Egyptians left their land that would be equivalent to them leaving the Egyptians' land.

I'm only one person, and i can't speak for all Palestinian refugees, but I'm willing to give up my right of return if Israel will just give all Palestinians equal rights with Israelis. All of them. West Bank, Gaza strip, and everyone living in diaspora who has Palestinian citizenship. I don't care if the combined country is called Israel. I care that humans are treated as humans, and that holy places which are currently in existence do not get destroyed to build new ones. Especially for a different religion than the original structure was for. That will create more war. We need peace!

Do you slow down your voice artificially? It just seems off, like its' 10-15% sped down. Speeding it up by 25% makes it seems more natural.

I think it depends on the amount of information someone knows. Those who are in favor of Palestine knows more information that favors the Palestinian narrative. Those who are in favor of Israel knows more information that favors the Israeli narrative. The video missed out many of the things from both sides. If the video fails to mention what they already know, it means the video is biased against their position. That's what I realized after watching the video. I know some pro-Palestine info and plenty of pro-Israel info that were not mentioned. I have a pro-Israel bias because I hate Islam and Marxist Communism and that's why I know more information that favors the Israeli narrative than the Palestinian narrative.

It's a miracle that Israel become a state in this region and managing to keep the economic and quality of living in western standards. Why neighboring countries like Lebanon, Syria and Jordan stay have such big difference in the economic aspect ?

A very detailed video regarding the confluct. However, when addressing the refugee issue, you forgot to mention that by UN definition a refugee status is only available for the first generation and their decendents must be intergrated into their host countries. The fact that Arab countries are unwilling to intergrate the Palestinians and keep naming their towns of residence 'refugee camps' tells you all you need to know for how the conflict is kept alive. Also, Jews weren't just expelled from Iraq and Yemen, but from the entire middle east.

The only country that didn't give ids to muslim palestinians is Lebanon due to political and religious reasons, all the christian palestinians in lebanon have lebanese ids, as a policy from the country to increase the christian population (same for armenians). But the palestinians are also refusing to fully integrate to the country that is hosting them to prevent losing their identity and in hopes of returning back home one day.

Notes: it creates the impression all jews were in europe but significant, ancient (more than europe) communities from morroco to iraq, and Ethiopia existed. Not sure if I missed it when you said they were taken and allowed to return or left during the other times. Also, the arabs didn't arrive in the region (to settle) until the 7th century with the Islamic Conquest. And the only reason why the temple mount is holy to the muslims is because it's in the torah/bible as a holy site. They don't have any connection to it. Originally Mohammad was actually scolded for praying towards Jerusalem instead of towards Mecca. Mecca and the space rock are their holy site. One of the reason they don't have a problem bombing Jerusalem on holidays. Aside from that, I think it was pretty accurate, 98% lol =D
