This gun is $700, but is the BEST “Hi-Power” version ever made. Better than the original FN/Brownings, which I own four of. Springfield really did this gun right!

I like my WW2 Beligian FN more than this one, but I would agree the updates that Springfield did, made this a much better fit for this era!

@@ehcatsfaneric2211 Fake news. Please show me the link from SA, showing a single SA-35 “recall.” There hasn’t been one yet. The extractor issue was identified and fixed at around the HP12000 serial number mark. A more refined cut and redesigned extractor is now used by the factory.

This pistol is what the original should have been and is better than the original Hi-Power. 93 countries and 50 armies of the world still use their issued Hi-Powers. The Springfield SA-35 may be based on an old design, but it is an excellent carry pistol, and the history speaks for itself.

I was pleasantly surprised how the updated this design while still holding on to the history of this great design. They did a fabulous job on this one.

Good review. Personally, I don't ever like using the base of the magazine to push out the pin on these or 1911's. I always use a small piece of wood so as not to mar finish.

That is a great piece of advice. I am always a little concerned using metal on metal. Thanks for supporting the channel!

Cleaned mine for the first time and used a Sharpie for no mar tool. I agree with you. No metal on metal!

I agree: other finish options would be nice, ( along with at least a second magazine, ) but they first needed to ensure these guns functioned reliably. Mine was among the early ones, ( just under 4k s/n ) that required one trip, ( so far ) back to SA. The gun generally runs good, but I still do not have full confidence in it due to a few extraction issues that occasionally continue to occur, post-RMA. These pistols do certainly feel great and shoot great, but my gut tells me that I probably should send it off to someplace like BHP solutions, etc. We'll see

Getting guns early unfortunately can tend to have these problems. Sorry that yours had struggles. Gun companies are moving away from old fashion blue. I wish companies would bring it back.

@theBucketshallnotbeinfringed I know this well. By getting a brand new gun, a person is usually either paying too much and/or potentially getting a problem gun. I know better, but the price I was able to get my SA35 at.. and that I'd been waiting about six months to get one in my hands, my impatience got the better of me. But I'll keep at it until she's 100%.

@stevewhisperer6609 Sometimes, you pick something out, and it is just a process you just have to walk through with the gun. But if you can be patient, it can be a fulfilling process. I wish the best for ya.

Just ordered one today I’m very excited and was wondering if you had any advice for someone with small hands? And any good ways to conceal carry?

This model with its unique grips They are probably the best for someone with small hands. As far as conceal and carry, probably Leather IWB, I think Craft has one, but you would have to check there website. Thanks for supporting the channel.

I have small hands and if fits my hand very well. I also have a Browning High Power. I use both leather holsters and kydex holsters. The SA35/BHP will fit into a 1911 LEATHER holster, but will NOT fit into 1911 Kydex holsters. You have to use a kydex made for the BHP to fit the SA35. The trick is to wear a dedicated gun belt so it won't stretch and pull supporting the weight of a pistol. Wear a good quality gun belt, so it also spreads the weight across the waist. A paddle holster will spread the weight across the paddle surface.

I understand, but I think that since the Hi-Power was originally designed for military use, it doesn't bother me it has the black finish, as it resembles the "parkerized " look somewhat, that was used in a fair number of military firearms, over the years.

FEG is a Hungarian copy---FEG stands Hungarian Gas Appliances. Not quite a clone. Girsan makes a decent clone, though you will most likely need a trigger job.
