Same here. There's something comforting about the monotony because that's how lifting is in real life. No glamour, no glitz, just the same shit day in and day out over and over again just eeking out a little bit more than last time just stacking those bricks. Sam really out here taking us along for the ride.

100% correct about timing your calories. The last couple of hours before bed are always fatal for me, especially if I'm alone. I'll just undo everything I've worked for during the day. Digging deep to get past that is hard.

Bro really started talking about vectors. Respect
Nice chest workout. I was friggin elated when I pressed 225 x 10: my max bench was 315..when 315 X 10 was attained my max bench was 405. I wasn't able to rep 405 X10 . I was in the Navy, in and out of port but did reach 405 X 5..
If you have a good spotter I recommend going to failure and then try and hold the bar statically at about 1/3 down from the top It will start to burn like a mofo! I came up with this from getting that last rep I can with no spotter. I’ve spent seconds fighting those last 8” or so. I feel like it’s that same burn you get from a burnout but you’re doing it with heavy weight

I have to get up and have caffeine and do cardio straight into lift. i like fasted and caffeinated cardio but i do feel like im lacking juice in the lift. I feel sick to my stomach most mornings and eating just doesn't happen. that's why I want to get some cyclic dextrin. I know it's not a replacement for proper complex carbs from food but having it seems like it would be better than just running on empty.
The fact you keep this up with engineering is sick man

What do you think of Mike mentzer philosophy of training ( like the 1 set to failure per exercise..)
@Navi_xoo
Ай бұрын
1 set is pseudo science crap but if you are a newbie you might small gains from it. Ask any modern body builder if they do 1 set and stop. 6-8 sets 2x a week is standard unless you are new then maybe 3-4 sets 2x a week. Your muscles will tell you when you've done enough. Going beyond 20 sets a muscle every week is probably pointless ( there are some genetic outliers and the obvious steroids that might affect that ). Diet and cardio is also equally important.
