Work looks great :-) Very relaxing just to sit and watch someone paint. Never had a Mk4 but was always part of the Ukmkivs community (I had a Mk5 Golf back in the day). Infact since I started driving I've always had a Golf of some description (2 Golf Mk5s (Tdi and gti), a Seat Altea (it's a golf underneath), an Edition 30 and then a Mk7 Bluemotion) Great cars and nice to see someone spending some money on an older Mk4 as most are really tatty !!

Hi Jason, amazing finish you got from the direct gloss I think you would be hard pushed to get it any better if you used clear over base, that bonnet looked absolutely mint👌 I have used 2K Direct Gloss before but I'm not that keen on it in my little booth all I did was a couple of bike tanks but it left my floor and walls feeling sticky I could feel it under my feet😧I've seen some people put clearcoat over direct gloss but I don't see the point unless you are flatting and polishing it🤔👍

mate as you may or may not know ive been painting 30 years this year on and off, and you need to be proud of yourself!! as i and any other painter thats used OC on will know thats a pig of a product to use and get results with and that is a phenomenal finish for how shite OC is compared to the likes of ici etc. absolutely cracking job there amazing results and for the non painters or new painters i know jayson made that look easy but i can assure you that paint is hard work!! great video mate 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks Grant, its alright when its over thinned and the HS hardner is used, wind the pressure right up and wind the fluid in, it dont like other hardners in it, Thanks again mate hope your well 👍

Nice job Jay looks smooth as black glass mate👌 I was painting black from a rattle can today only on the cover of an old ham international jumbo CB radio ! Didn’t look as good as your job but it tarted it up a bit so alls good 🤣

Hi Jason never miss your videos just question got great body shop local to me got MK2 focus st in panther black had body kit match to car only job needs doing is the roof 1 own woman left bird muck on roof n eatin into clear coat booked in soon is it easy colour to paint they painted front bumper aswell stone chips can't even tell Been painted keep up great videos you make brilliant job 👍👍

@@TheHumblePaintSprayer333 Welcome, right up my alley, old school gun, old skool paints(ISH), old golf, lovely stuffs. 😃👍💯👌

I really strugled with mipa oc. First time using. 2:1 hs25 hardner and about litle over 5% thinners for the first pass. Temp in the booth was like 30.. too much. Gun was gti pro lite with te10 air cap and 1.3 fluid. Pressure litle over 2 bar on the gun. So much orangepeel. Next round i used my clear gun with 1.2mm fluid and t110 air cap. 2:1 ms25 hardner and 20% thinners, 2 2-2.3bar on the gun, started laying SO MUCH nicer, thin closed coat for the first and full coat 2nd. NOT the paint for beginners. (Booth was cooler also) much easier to overthin and use a bit smaller fluid tip. 2coat was good. First time i shoot 3 coats after realising that orangepeel didient lay down so i have material to sand down and polish.

Yeah I’ve had the same issues, a lot of the HS 2K direct gloss are like this, they are designed for 1 coat like OC stands for 1 coat, lot of them are so the TDS will meet the VOCs I do the same over thin, turn pressure up to 2.2 bar, wind fluid in a bit and do 2 coats, i sometimes stick it in the microwave for 15 seconds as well 😂 Yeah definitely not easy to get it down without orange peel, you can have it mixed with a MS binder but the coverage isn’t as good or the gloss
