How did you fit the booth? Looks a really tight fit! Nice to see a bit of filler and dent pulling👍
take a shot every time he says “ came out well “ 🙈
Great work bro 👍, i usually use spray bog on bigger jobs like this instead off chasing my tail trying too level the panel. Also i normally turn commercial vehicles away F in nightmare 🤣😪😪
Great vid 👍👍👍
👍🏻
Very enjoyable video Jason as this sort of content is just what I need, my painting is reasonably good but I do struggle with filler work, am I right in thinking that you shouldn't have the edges of your filler on bare metal as when I do I can never get the edges to feather out even if I finish my sanding with P800 I can always feel the edge of my filler, I've also been told that you should never use filler over bare metal anyway🤔 I'm just a hobby/diy painter and have learnt everything from videos on youtube. I used to own a 2006 Ford Mondeo ST in performance blue which I bought in 2007 and had it until 2015, loved that car👌sorry for the long comment👍
Most Filler can and will go over bare metal, its better to have epoxy primer on the metal, i find its better to have your filler transition in to the paint work, as you can have your filler/repair straight but then the feathered out edges around it can cause ripples and wobbles and make harder work for the primer and a risk of some shrinkage 800 grit is way to fine for finishing filler or sanding around it, 800 grit is for keying clear coat for clear over clear, your filler wants to be finished in 180-320 grit max and the sanding around it wants to be 240-320 grit max, its not about it feeling smooth its about it feeling straight and fine grits won't cut through enough and the scratch won't course enough for primer to bite well enough too, as a rule whatever your sanding with if you want too make it finer you want to jump up around 100 grit at a time If your filler/repair is having 2k primer id finish it in 180 - 240 grit, if its 1k primer id finish it in 240 - 320 grit and sand and feather out the same grit around it here's the grits for different applications 800 - 1000 grit for clear over clear 500- 600 grit for base coat 400 - 500 grit for 2k direct gloss 80-320 max for filler Sorry for the long reply 🤣 hope this helps 🤟
Really appreciate the detailed reply Jason so many thanks for taking the time as I know you are busy, I only used the 800 grit to try to get rid of the edges that I can feel in the filler I normally finish in 320 when using filler. Even though I always block my filler using a longer block than the size of the repair sometimes the filler ends up lower than the surrounding panel which I find odd that it sands lower when using a flat block, is it me putting to much pressure on the block🤷♂maybe one day when you are doing a small filler repair you can show us how you block it to stop the filler ending up lower than the panel👍 Thanks again Jason and sorry if I'm being a pain but I feel this issue is holding me back as most people say my painting is very good 🤠👍
possibly the most informative body repair videos ive watched, so thank you for posting it.
im like you Jason 5-11 but struggle with roofs and anything tall lol
I can only dream of being that tall 😂

Can I achieve a decent result at home ? My mondeo bonnet needs a respray
You could depends on what equipment you have and experience
What does that cost ? Need to get mine done, I’d love to do myself at home
£580 that job was
@@TheHumblePaintSprayer333 That’s a decent price that

WOW !! Stunning job, Jason and Reece. That really Pops in the sun. I’d be interested to see that new clear coat you mentioned, sounds interesting. Good bit of camera work to close off Reece 👍. Thanks as always for sharing Gents. Cheers, Vince.
Cheers Vince, i am getting some in soon so look out for the review on it
Superb job Jason that bonnet came out looking perfect with a super flat finish and Reece did an awesome job on the outro he's a natural in front of the camera so get him doing more mate it will give you a break👌😅 I do a lot of flow coats as they always look amazing, you should flowcoat the bonnet and boot on all your big jobs Jason as I'm sure it will get you more jobs through the door, people will love the finish you get🤔👍
Thanks mate, Rhys didn't want to do it but i said if he refuses he will be up for a disciplinary 😂 yeah you can beat a flow coated paint job
Jason, really interesting vid, do you not need an air fed mask with this paint?
Yes a air fed is better as long as your air supply is super clean otherwise it could be worse for you
👌🏻
Super job looks perfect 👍
Thank you! Cheers!

Question. Fred Perry and haircut, are you a Mod ?
it’s more Oasis, Liam Gallagher & Stone Roses influence
Brilliant job 😊 have you tried cc12?
Many thanks, yeah i have its really nice i really liked it, probably a bit over kill for some average production car finishes but for higher end stuff its great, super glossy, i use CC9 on the higher end cars its very nice 👍
Steady progress Jason, keep us updated. Cheers Vince.
Fantastic job Jason, what a Shine! Thanks for sharing as always mate 👍 Cheers Vince.
Thank you Vince hope your well 👍
All good mate, hope your doing Ok👍
Nice metal work.
The old Clio is in really good condition as they were never know to last that long they were all rot boxes but this one is really nice. It's a shame to cut the step out if you are trying to keep as much of the original steel as you can then I would keep the step and cut the new sill in to fit, it's a hard decision to make but it's only you that knows which is best for the build. I recon the Clio Williams will be worth a bit when it's done mate👌👍
Brilliant. I would have thought Clio 16V parts would fit. Maybe more available?
That’s actually in pretty tidy condition ! it’s gonna be like new again by the time you finished nice job ..looking forward to seeing this come together…like I say to the Princess all things in good time there’s no rush 🤣
Just use bottom half you can waxoyl inside the cills
🥳👌🏻
Cool car. Rome wasn't built in a day. Have you ever thought of painting the walls in the workshop white. It makes a massive difference light wise. Even painting your workshop doors white on the inside. Good wee job for your apprentice.
Cheers, yeah most days i think about that and a thousand other things id like to change 😂👍
I hear you. I think most of us have the magic list . You know the one where you get one ticked of the list and another two find their way onto the bottom of the list. Heath and happiness are way more important .
Loving the restoration vids on the Clio & im sure it will all turn out perfect whichever way you decide to go with it👍🏻
Going tom be nice
Awesome work as always
Thank you! Cheers!
