Welcome to the first of the new videos having taken my old ones down! Being nearly 3 years old, dated and low quality, I have recorded a bunch of new content that I will be releasing with new equipment, lighting, audio, processes, tips, tricks, techniques and so much more!
Join me in this video where I share with you the tools you need to start spoon carving on a budget! You really don’t need much and the three tools will cost less than $70.00.

JT Mag wooo thanks, not sure how long you’ve been here but I have had it for about 3 years just now updating everything haha. Enjoy ☺️
Great video! Maybe do one on replacing the handles on the knife and especially the hook knife.

Thunderskaaa thank you haha much appreciated ☺️👍
Great video - I have seen one that recommended using a ball stone bit in a dremel to grind the inner (not closer than 1/8” to edge) to create a hollow rather than the as supplied convex inner of the hook knife. Would you recommended this?

Hey Simon! Sorry for such a delayed reply! Absolutely you can, I have done so before with excellent results. Work slowly and methodically. It takes a while but certainly helps speed up the maintenance process.
Just read you’ve taken the videos down When will you post a sharpening video Tom I’ve just bought a water stone and what not To be getting on with Your last video was very detailed and that’s what I’m basing my sharpening on Also be great if you could list all your tools for each video mate Look forward to the sharpening and maintenance vids

Gordon Duff they have gone :) a new one will be up soon!
Robin Wood in the UK sells some fantastic carving equipment. I bought an axe around a year ago and it is a fantastic piece of kit with a good weight that won't tire your arms out if you are a beginner and comes razor-sharp, it's also a lot cheaper than a gransfors.

Glad you are happy with it, that’s all that matters :) though I personally stay away from Chinese made tools.
I remember that you really liked the Mora knife, you even sold a really beautiful "artisanal" knife that I forgot who made. What made you change your mind?

Douglas Lambert Douglas Lambert hey! Yes they are a great tool! The other knife I have sold could be many 😂 maybe the Hans Karlsson? I preferred the profile of the 106 over the Hans Karlsson!
I surely miss all you old videos. I hoped that it was by mistake they have dissappeared for a while, but from misc comments it seem that you have done it by purpose?? Permanently?? Could you reveal your future plan? Make new of all the videos? Some kind of payment to see them??

@@spooncarvingwithtom Thanks Tom - sorry I didn't see the description right away. Anyway, I want to say that you old videos have helped me A LOT even though you maybe think they are of poor quality. Well, I look forward to your new uploads. Thanks for all your work!
