Spike Lee BLASTS Tyler Perry For HUMILIATING Black Actors | Tyler’s New Movie FLOPS
Another Tyler Perry movie, another flop…Not even an endorsement from Beyonce was enough to save Tyler’s new movie “Mea Culpa,” starring Kelly Rowland and Trevante Rhodes.
The critics are calling it “embarrassing” and “nonsensical,” while the fans are saying they refuse to watch it because “written, produced, and directed by Tyler Perry” is a big enough clue to avoid this movie like the plague.

Jewish people don’t complain about Seinfeld because Seinfeld was good and well written. Italian don’t complain about the Sopranos, because the Sopranos was well written. Notice how Black people don’t complain spike Lee movies, or Shondra Rhimes, movies, etc. it’s your movies, TP, that are poorly written and stereotypical. Hire some talented writers. You would be keeping them employed and nurturing their gifts. A lot of people don’t want to criticize him because he’s employing Black people but these are just regular stage people or crew people that keep his business up and running. He need them to work just like any other corporation. But higher black writers and producers that can make your product stand out and be recognized amongst your peers. That’s how you uplift your community.

TP writes almost all of his movies. He prides himself as a write. I think he collaborating once. And if he does it's with Oprah. He getting rich off black people and we continue to support his foolishness. He's in a position to let the younger generation know that they are plenty of black lawyers, doctors, engineers, scientists etc. We just ended Black History month. I remember years ago there would be so many black programs on TV. All kinds. Now there none of substance. Just garbage. Because, the producers of today are young and don't have the understanding or knowledge if our black history. They want to keep the higher ups happy and feed us anything and we go for it. We're to afraid to rock the boat. If one wh..e woman can ban black books in Florida, just imagine what a group of black people could do if we come together. But we are so busy fighting each other. We must do better. Time is running out.

I think the most disappointing part about Tyler Perry is that he refuses to grow and evolve as a writer/director. His work now is not all that different from the church plays he started out producing. The fact that he writes so many projects completely by himself isn't helping him. There's no one to tell him something is ridiculous or doesn't make sense. I could understand sticking to a formula that worked for him when he was trying to become successful. But he's rich enough now that he can afford to stretch a little, experiment, hire good writers and learn from them.

My father worked in a hot mill for 42 yrs, my mother cleaned white people homes to send us to college, to learn, to know how to speak, act, and react, it was hard for them and us as their children. We had a matriarch in our family, he was nothing like uncle Joe. Our grandmothers and aunts were nothing like medea. We come too far and still have a long way to go. To many blacks have died for what little freedoms we have. We're at a point now where everything is a joke. We make fun out even tragedies. It is do sad.

Ask Tyler about Club Miami, and Ms. Sophia, the V103 personality who was performing the Madea skit years before, ask him about the settlement with Joe and the role he offered him in a movie as his double, to many skeletons Tyler to many nights you spent on the Atlanta scene. Yea he's a downlow brother.

why does tyler only write about black ppl with little to no education? it was funny for a while, but does he not see that we have many who are intelligent and deserve the same attention? none so blind 👩🏾‍🦯 as those that will not see. tyler should listen to his peers with differing views bc we're getting really tired of looking at our ppl being portrayed that way.

When I found out Kelly Rowland was the lead for Mea Culpa, I was so excited; but after I watched the movie I was pissed off. Another TP movie about a black woman sacrificing herself for black men who use her and don’t really seem to care about her. I think Kelly did the best she could with the terrible script she was given. The story was wack, the acting was ok, the message was wack and the way it left me feeling at the end was definitely wack. 0 out of 5 stars. I hope Kelly gets much better roles than this cause I’d love to see her shine in a project worthy of her star status.

He has tuned out the very constructive criticism that will help him. He prides the “writer/producer/ director title, which is problematic for him in a way he may never be willing to see. I love TO. I agree with every criticism aimed at Tyler P EXCEPT the argument that he’s wrong for casting an all white cast to one of his shows. Why is he forced to only all black cast members? You can’t have it both ways. If he never casted anybody outside of his own people then he gets called a racist for only hiring his own kind. Imagine the hate Eastwood or Spielberg would receive if they only casted whites only??? 🤔

The best movie TP has ever done was "The Jazzman's Blues". That was a great movie with a great plot and made you think outside of the rest of TP's movies which have the same plot line and almost all his movies have the dark-skinned guy as the villain while the light skinned guy is ALWAYS thew savior! TP has a lot more money but his products suck. If you think that you can turn out a great product by writing a MOVIE in one week you get what you get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I wish Tyler's movies were better sure but he's doing his own thing and if you don't like it don't watch.

To be fair to Mr. Perry, to present us a portrait of your family matriarch is admirable. Also, whites also produce the good, bad and ugly side of themselves as a people, I would think that that is the art of the profession and I’d give him a half a pass on. I mean every film can’t be a Ossie and Rubee , Sidney and Diane movie. But you couldn’t find one woman actress to play the matriarch of your family member? In all 79 movies about this one main character with the same plot,YOU had to play the main character? I wished Mr. Perry would had stopped at one and done with this character and moved on into other plots of our black family story. Being that he wants us to identify with him about his experience. Show us another side of us please!

Amongst the running for where Black cinema needs to be in present day, they are leading the charge. Tyler Perry would be doing a service to his production company if he aligned himself with these gentlemen and opened himself to their inspiration for his future projects.

I have much respect for Spike just don't understand how he can go after Tyler Perry and not mention Eddie Murphy when it comes to the Dress. Money opens up director doors when you have a good return on your movie. When Hollywood saw the money Tyler Perry was making from his plays that's what Hollywood call bankable💰
